Yes, in Masbate lubi is coconut but in mainland bicol the coconut is "niyog" and "lubilubi" refers tp a kind of wild plant whose trunk is very pliable but very tough. The young leaves are cooked in coconut milk and are very tasty..
Yes, it is true bicol has a folk song also entitled "lubilubi" and the lyrics are similar with Waray"s..
This is an original waray waray folksong from region 8, Leyte and Samar, I don't know if there's a Bikolano version for this, all i know is that this folksong is as old as waray waray culture or maybe 70 yrs old, i'm really not sure. This is for a bit of information for non- waray people.
