  • sounds like Fukushima now. ????? what would happen there.

  • This shit makes me sick. Nothing happened at three mile island. Nor was there a risk of anything happened. I wish people didn't just eat up sensationalized bullshit.

  • @CShermanH Are you trolling or just a moron? The core was uncovered and if left like that, it would have been similar to Fukushima.

  • Lol no. Fukashima was messy because it was on water and there were earthquake and tsunami related complications. Three Mile Island was a joke; the reactor still had safeguards that weren't even necessary for the situation and effectively zero radiation was actually leaked. And in the video that one retard says it could have "wiped out the whole eastern seaboard," which is either fantasy or fear-mongering. The media loves both of those.

  • Bam

  • one solution, is siemens gas turbines. they are built right here in charlotte, nc. they have been built in europe at 50 Hrz. here in the US, they say, they can build 60 Hrz engines. giant gas turbine generators, using the power from the turbine and the heat exhaust from the turbine to produce... i don't remember, 470 mega watts.

  • i also said something about "fatblack", i have no idea what i was talking about. i must have read or heard something about fatblack, i don't remember. sometimes i go into these meditated states of thinking and .....stuff just comes out of nowhere. [part two]

  • i had to look this up, i make a lot of comments. thats all they are, comments.

i don't know. i said what i felt at that time. i can change my mind, i'm not rush limbaugh. randy is a very intelligent guy, with a masters or doctorate in physics or mathimatics (i'm guessing). [part one]

  • Governments worldwide have been covering up nuclear meltdowns for fifty years to protect the nuclear industry …

    w w w washingtonsblog com / 2011 / 03 / governments-have-been-covering-up html

  • Thanks to the criminal ENTERGY Corp. and thanks to corrupt state and federal regulators/politicians the next Fukushima-type catastrophe will most probably happen in the continental US. ENTERGY buys 30+ y old junk reactors that should be shut down ASAP, renews the licenses and ramps up power output. Now that's a good recipe for death on a massive scale.

China, India, Russia and Europe will be so very glad when the biggest bully will have successfully removed himself from the global schoolyard.

  • hydrogen gas, what produces that? fatblack??

  • this guy "randy" is fake. nice try.

  • He talks about the "what if" being a half-hour from meltdown, but it's a fact that if the engineers had not touched a single thing, the system would have taken care of itself and we'd never have even heard about it and the reactor would probably be running today.

  • I hate when people say nucular instead of nuclear.

  • Jct: Bad luck! If Three Mile Island had lasted a lousy extra half an hour, it would have polluted the entire Eastern Seaboard of the United States and the yankees would not have been in the position to make war on Nicaragua, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Serbia, nor Libya. Better luck next time. Then again, Japan is almost melting through to the water table and then the contaminants get over here anyway. Maybe the luck is working as it should!

  • Don't worry about the infant mortality. When the government saw the excess death statistics, they immediately jumped into action and stopped the publication of any more mortality statistics! It can no longer be proved that radioactive contamination is killing people so the problem has been solved! Har har har har har.

  • Randy King

  • So who is this guy?

  • the man is making up the animal deformaties off the top of his head.

'A man with the body of a horse, but the head of an ant' etc. This is a Chris Morris production right?

  • @38Highbury i watched it 2 times....at what timeframe does he say that? I didnt hear it....

  • @bcbk93 it's definately in there, word for word...

    Google 'Chris Morris english comedian'.

  • That guys voice is soooo annoying

  • We have become far too complacent and desensitized to extremely important issues. The direct risks to human life are obvious and have precedents, and yet lobbying and media control have enabled money hungry powerbrokers to continue putting lives at risk, actually hurting people (as they did at TMI), yet without any substantial resistance. How come, we can see what they are doing, know its wrong, but still let them get away with it!

  • doe's anyone know what country is on the opposite side of japan ?

why cant we have wave and windpower?

    whats wrong with solar

  • @1955wayne55 DEERRRRH. DURRRP. DEERRP DURP.

Understand that. Theres your answer, dumbshit.

  • doe's anyone know what country is on the opposite side of japan ?

  • Free Energy, Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Hydro-electric Energy and Geothermal Energy are safer than Nuclear Energy.

  • @MrVrsilvestrejr2008 nuclear is far cheaper to all of those to produce

  • @MrVrsilvestrejr2008 they take up large portions of land . .. . ... . astheticaly unpleasing. just dont produce the quality of power.

  • @MrVrsilvestrejr2008: They are definitely safer, but not effective enough. A single nuclear power plant can provide enough energy for a smaller country. Solar and wind energy is not reliable at all. In the next 20-30 years (or even more) we will need atomic power.

  • @makos007 we will need atomic power.

Jct: And then you'll need to take care of the radioactive waste for the rest of your life, and your kids, and theirs. Are you sure you wouldn't rather cut back on waste and go natural?

  • ouch bad hair days all round

  • Please show me someone who had more radiation exposure from TMI than from an MRI? We have fought wars and thousands have died in accidents from our addiction to OIL, but that's accepted as collateral damage.

  • my opinion on nuclear power is that the risks out way the benefits, the cost of building a nuclear power plant cost way more then harvesting any of the other green energy's like wind and solar, waves. they also do not create any harmful wast material like nuclear wast. in case of a earthquake it could destroy the facility and leak radiation in to the water and or air.

  • @GooglSpiesOnUs our government needs to invest in Cold Fusion as well. we could end our addiction to foreign oil. all so its a million times safer then nuclear power.

  • @GooglSpiesOnUs

and it ain't ever gonna happen

  • This should hint people that no matter what we claim as to be the safest way to produce electricity, we are not safe. We would have been fucked. We had chernobyl, then this.... When will we learn our lesson? Lets hope we don't, but come on! We have solar energy and wind energy! Lets get to it!

  • @GBVendettaGB

Your comments show to me that you have no idea the basics of electric generation. There is a massive difference between baseload power generation such as Coal and Nuclear and Solar/Wind. The biggest difference is capacity factor. While Coal and Nuclear have around 80-90 percent capacity factors. Solar and Wind are easily below 30 percent. You must have baseload power or else we would experience rolling blackouts. Solar and Wind CANNOT replace Nuclear! or Coal!

  • @Allante715 ut tidal will always remain, and so hydro lies the key,

  • @Allante715

All that means is us lazy bastards will have to read a book or go outside and do something as apposed to sitting inside all day and rotting.

  • He's lying, he spilled Pepsi on the control panel and it shorted out the controls causing the accident to happen.

  • @collegeman1988 Are you sure? Beacause I heard it was Dr. Pepper.

  • oh, and to see what Walter Cronkite was all about, personally, simply search youtube for CRONKITE NWO

  • Three Mile Island happened 12 days after the multi-million dollar blockbuster CHINA SYNDROME was released. Mega stars, mega marketing. Then POOF. Result: Nuclear power was sullied and soiled, while devil-we-know oil kept hold and entrenched big oil interests benefitted. Cheney and Rumsfeld were in the White House and had been at power for years. 30 years later, Obama licenses first two new nuclear power plants in 30 years, followed 6 months later by BP GULF OIL disaster. When will you wake up?

  • I'm hearing the DU ammunition left all across Iraq is causing the same health effects only less unknown and traceable from total soil contamination. The whole country is practically unlivable. Just like that, I'm sure this was planned and the Rockefeller's were behind this one. Problem, Reaction, Solution.

  • radiation can take a long time to have deadly effects. it damages, mutants, and destroys cells and DNA..essentially destroying a person from the inside out. my grandmother lived about 15 miles away and felt the plume. she had numerous, unexplainable cancers until the final years of her life. we know she's not the only one.

  • Nuclear power is safe! A republican guy told me so!

  • @monkeyman1140 hahaha nice

  • awww what the fuck? I live right near three mile island :( im fuckin' scared now. i don't want to be just a statistic in America's version of chernobyl. Fuck that, im moving. I still think it would be better than being known as the dude who choked on a peanut.

  • Spent nuclear fuel rods are stored throughout America and, I suspect, the world. They MUST be covered with water and that is done electricly. When the grid goes down for more than 2 weeks, radioactivity will kill within 500 miles.

I live in New England. New England will wiped out if electricity goes out for more than 2 weeks.

I got this info from pdlumina on YouTube. I hope he's wrong but I believe he's right.

  • this is just madness to keep working with nuclear energy, the risk is very low to have catastrophe but does the scientific know that any catastrophe mean a territory destroyed and unlivable for billions years? this is just madness. i can't bear why in france we keep working on this.

  • How many people died at 3MI? Try 0 (ZERO, ZIP, NADA)

  • @The6000Sabre how many people died at chernobyl???, and to this day how many people in chernobyl are de-formed because of radioactive ionizing??? answer me that bud

  • LIAR

  • Nothing like Chernobyl could have happened. This guy is an idiot. Chernobyl was a stack pile reactor. Three mile island was a water vessel containment reactor. It has a suspended core. The China Syndrome is a freaking myth with modern reactor design.

  • @theunbubba You're the idiot for believing that. The type of reactor has nothing to do with the end result. If the reactor melts down....regardless of type, it is still prone to melting through the containment barrier underneath, hitting the water table, and exploding and releasing mass amounts of reactivity through the jet stream and throughout areas on the Eastern Seaboard.

  • @frambesbuckeye Yes it does; RBMK reactors have a history of not being safe and Chernobyl was an example of how not to build and run a reactor.

  • I'm interested as to when this interview was carried out. I know most people thought nothing of this interview, but it is ultimately 100% accurate of what happened at Chernobyl and could have happened at TMI.

  • I've added the interview date to the description.

  • @thefilmarchive

    Thanks a bunch.

  • Actually, it is nothing like Chernobyl. The Chernobyl steam explosion occured due tthe water in the plant, not ground water. In fact, Chernobyl proved that even grossly melted fuel cannot melt through the concrete structures to reach ground water.

  • True, although they had to tunnel under Reactor 4 to reinforce the floor from collapsing and having the fuel from reaching the ground water. If they wouldn't have done this, there would have been a catastrophic result.

  • @frambesbuckeye

this is definitely not "100% accurate of what happened at Chernobyl and could have happened at TMI." what happened at TMI was not the same as Chernobyl. While it was a serious accident, there were no injuries or deaths from TMI.

  • @ksquared4 KEY WORDS: "COULD HAVE HAPPENED" YOU=FAIL

  • @frambesbuckeye

    YOU = IMMATURE

  • @ksquared4

    YOU=ILLITERATE

  • @frambesbuckeye No it couldn't TMI had a Containment structure around the reactor as Chernobyl didn't.

  • @Darkwizzrobe Makes no difference when the reactor explodes from a meltdown.

  • @Darkwizzrobe The containment unit of TMI could only withstand 60 psig. If the reactor melted and the gas bubbles of Hydrogen and Radiation exploded from a core meltdown estimates of the blast wave are 166 psig. That means real bad day! This information is in the Technical Assessment Task Force Report.

  • @midnight491 Exactly, just like what happened to 3 of the 6 containment buildings at Fukushima which are now rubble. The containment building is designed to withstand a steam explosion inside the reactor (Chernobyl) and/or a release of radiation material into the reactor hall (TMI), but if the reactor hall fills up with hydrogen or any other flammable gas (Fukushima) then the containment building would just be blown apart like a cardboard box as soon as something causes a spark.

  • @frambesbuckeye The reactor at Three Mile Island was not anything like the Chernobyl reactor, the russian reactor has something called a positive temperature coefficient, basically means that as it gets hotter more reaction, US reactors are opposite if they get to hot the reactions slow down. plus they had no containment building. All in all, this COULD NEVER HAPPEN with a US reactor, they are completely different.

  • @frambesbuckeye This is not at all what happened at Chernobyl, but it's still not good. Chernobyl was a combination of incompetence of design and operation. The worst part is Chernobyl simply had no containment structure, which TMI did have.

  • Why does this guy look 90 degrees away from the man he's talking to?

  • This is classic body language when someone is lying. Don't take my word for it. Make full use of the 'net to validate/refute my position.

  • @mpwelk

    Because he knows he's lying.

  • About what though? That's what I'm saying... he seems to be rather open about the whole thing.

  • @mpwelk It's all scripted. He's reading this off a bunch of cue cards. Remember that the "China Syndrome" movie had just come out the year before TMI's problems. These people are propagandists for the oil and coal companies trying to stop the incursion of Nuclear into their electric generation sales.

It was very effective. There have been no new plants for thirty years since then.

  • @theunbubba Right on. I think The China Syndrome is a pretty cool movie. Jane Fonda is hot :D)

  • @theunbubba It's pretty obvious that he isn't reading off of a bunch of cue cards. If you think he is, then you are just full of shit and reading off of your own propagandic cue card.

  • @frambesbuckeye

And you are a dumbass pinhead rivaling Zippy.

  • @theunbubba Even though you are the assclown that can't even interpret common sense.

  • @mpwelk It's because of the radiation

  • interesting.
