  • a very nice reviews, thanks!!

  • Is it me, or were you calling USB ports SATA ports?

  • What's your problem? If I did care more about size I wouldn't even be searching for a gaming laptop in the FIRST PLACE. There are many cheaper alternatives than apple. Like I said, I am searching for a laptop which can handle the latest games easily and doesn't have the thickness of the Clevo x7200. One more thing, my username doesn't correspond to my intelligence level.

  • Nice thanks for actually talking about stuff that is important in other words NICE REVIEW

  • Does this laptop feel too 'thick' I want this, but since it's using the state-of-the-art components, it's gonna at least have a decent height - right?

  • @PokemonBakuganFreak Idiots obsessing over laptop size. It's a gaming laptop, size doesn't matter here. If you care about size, go waltz over to apple.

  • @Nicro327 Size matters to ME. I don't intend using this as a desktop replacement, but a portable form factor notebook which can cut through the latest games like a hot knife through butter. Anyone who buys an apple laptop for gaming is officially an idiot (you).

  • @PokemonBakuganFreak I never said apple is used for gaming. I said if you care about size more than quality go by a mac. Apple is not used for gaming, you're the idiot for assuming so. I assure you I am not the idiot here. You are,"PokemonBakuganFreak."

  • Nice vid man and thanks for the info about the "MatteType" finishing almost raped myself D:

  • I love the cool one, that is what I like calling it.

  • forgot to say that I added the 30b day no dead pixel agreement (got to have that if im getting 3D) and it came to around $1839

  • im getting this laptop with the nVidia GeForce GTX 560M 1,536MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11. Also im getting enough upgrades to get the 100$ off bonus , 200$ "Matte Type Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Screen" my favorite thing about his screen selection is that it comes with 3D and glasses. the i7 2.2-3.1 GHz, 8GB ram, standart 500G 72000rpm, blu-ray drive, Intel® Ultimate-N 6300, it also says it comes with a case ( thats helpful), and windows 7 HP

  • Fn+1 controls cooling on this lsptop?

  • it's a shame they are not available in UK

  • Nice riview. Great laptop. How about the delivery? How many days did you wait?

  • @fer356 Took 11 days, just as they claimed.

  • This is a gaming laptop right?

  • @bumblebee24100 Very much a gaming laptop

  • How is the keyboard in this model? Does something in the chassis look cheap?

  • @TheUnforgivent It is actually really clean looking.

  • @Lethalhammer Yeah, I really love the P170! I plan on getting it very soon. It has that "grown-up" clean aesthetic that I wouldn't mind taking anywhere while surprising people with its hidden power!

  • No back lit keyboard?? Origin laptops are a little more and have backlits.

  • Is this Dane Cook?

  • How's the stock screen? Crappy? Decent? Good?

  • @PuraudoKuraddo Good

  • LOL those are USB 3.0 and 2.0 derp

  • nutpad

  • nutpad

  • Is the GTX 485M the best option for this model? Is the processor you have sufficient or would it be advisable to buy the 3.5 GHz processor?

  • Lethalhammer, I was wondering if i should go for the i7-2920XM with 750 gb 7200 rpm hard drive, or if I should go for a 120 gig solid state drive with the i7-2820, and a second 500 gigabyte hard drive? which one would be better and why?

    Thanks!

  • @jamesluc256 I would get the 2920XM and 2 mechanical drives in RAID 0. but that could prove pricey. the 2920XM chip is like $800 :-O

  • @KlingonSpider When you say mechanical, do you mean 2 solid state drives? If so, how much storage each? My budget would be like $3050.

    Thanks

  • @jamesluc256 mechanical drives are traditional hard drives, the one's a motor and disks. solid states drives are not mechanical they rely on NAND flash to operate. if your budget it $3050! you have so many options. that's a lot of cash to drop on a computer. what do you want a laptop or a desktop kind computer? becuase that much money can get a you a very very powerful custom desktop tower like pc

  • @KlingonSpider Well, the problem is, I already have a desktop. What I need now is portability. I couldn't live with the idea of having to sit in a corner in my room for 2 hours to play games anymore. It just gives me feelings of anxiety. So I need something that I can move around with often enough.

  • @KlingonSpider The performance increase form a 2720 to a 2920XM isn't worth the cost.

  • Excuse me but how thick is this laptop?Personally I don't like the thick desktop replacements, just one that can play games decently.

  • Did you happen to add the IC Diamond Thermal Compound or is yours stock? Thanks :)

  • Can that badboy max out FFXIV Online, Crysis, and the upcoming Battlefield 3?

  • no backlit keyboard! you get what you pay for!

  • People keep on asking why anyone would replace a desktop with a laptop like this. If you have a laptop that plays every single game you need it to with good performance, does not take up a lot of room space, has no cables, does not need a screen or keyboard and can be taken anywhere you wish to game, I think the question is why wouldn't you?

  • Want to get this lap and want to keep the cost down, think it better to go for the 6970 or the intel 510 120gb ssd, the 460m is probably more then capable of playing everything at high atleast. Opinion?

  • @piccgeta The 6970M is cost effective and twice as powerful as the GTX 460M.

  • usb is not saaataaah!!!

  • @IamMartinski e-sata is compatible with usb, u can plug usb into a e-sata socket, but u cant plug eSata in to usb socket

  • @IamMartinski You don't know what SATA means do you?

When people say SATA, I usually think of HDDs as well, but SATA stands for "Serial Advanced Technology Attachment", just a bus for drives.

and knowing is half the battle.

P.S. You say SATA weird Lethalhammer. Really wanting to buy a NP8150.

  • Excuse me lethalhammer is it advisable for me to just order from the sager site directly?

  • @plutonicsilver You can, but if you want more custom options & want to save on sales tax buy it at Xoticpc.com

  • @Lethalhammer Why does xoticpc does not accept credit card for international orders?

  • Nice man, i liked your review and benchmarks, check out my channel as well i've done some similar videos, i have the slightly budget version of your laptop that i plan to upgrade slowly over the future.

  • would expect something more badass like an alienware and not a sager laptop

  • @nik6069 If you think Alienware is badass you need to do a bit of research. Alienware has lagged behind in the laptop space for years. They do not even offer a laptop with Nvidia's highest end GPU. It's sad really... Safer is at the top ofthe game in design, quality & offerings.

  • @Lethalhammer I'm more for looks in a laptop, and a keyboard I can type with in the dark lol

  • @Lethalhammer Alienware M18x do offer dual 6990Ms and dual GTX 580M options...there's no higher end mobile GPU currently...

  • @iloveshutdo At the same time, there is a lot of people that have problem with the laptop for that amount of money. In addition they say the costumer service is as good as the laptop currently. I love the Alienware but damn they are scaring the crap out of me to buy their product. This laptop is far better even with the crappy look ='(

  • @iloveshutdo Not at the time of purchase. The GTX 580M was not even announced.

  • @Lethalhammer

just want to point out Alienware do offer the top specs stuff, but of course in a much higher price range. I just ordered a NP8150 myself from Xoticpc.

  • @nik6069 also, Alienwares used to be made with saer/clevo laptops

  • 11:10 I thought it was going to come with a bag of weed ;-) ...hahaha...nice laptop...planning to get the np8150-s1...thanks for the review...

  • theres that review i was looking for! you plan on doing temps in one of your videos? I'm curious to see how cool this laptop can keep the new i7 laptop cpus as well as that monster gpu.

  • @Vashuna72 Yes I will have full benchmarks, sound and temp tests...

  • kick ass review hammer, damn dude you make me want to get one

  • @keiki646 If you ever go for a laptop before the next gen GPU's come out this is the one to get.

  • Awesome Laptop.

  • @dchains thanks

  • I got a new job and was forced to part put my desktop. I will rebuild a new system when the time comes... But for now I had to downsize. Yes desktops are more powerful but this laptop plays all current games at top settings without issues. People should know hitting 60 FPS on games like BFBC2 is satisfactory for the time being.

  • how much does a laptop like this one cost?

  • @Bballman07 Tax + Shipping = $2,800

  • SSDs are expensive. I have 2x cheaps ass HDDs in RAID 0 and they're satisfyingly fast. Once you're in Windows everything loads relatively quick. Plus, im sure you'll find 12gb a lil too much. I got 6gb in my I7 setup, never saw my system going past 3-4gb, thats when i was playing Crysis and running shit loads apps in the background.

  • @bigdima3 The new Sata 6.0 drives allow 450MB transfer speeds in non raid. I wanted to avoid a raid setup in my laptop. I do slit of video work and rendering and my system has utilized up to all 12GB of ram. I don't just play games. Also it was only a $30 upgrade from 6GB to 12GB so really it was a no brainer.

  • why would you replace your gaming PC with this?????

  • @gumberly Imagine this laptop + 27" monitor :) + silent operation and clean desktop.

  • @bigdima3 first of all, it's easy to build a quite computer. second, what does a clean desktop have to do with anything? also, the performance on this is soooo much lower than a desktops potential. why would you REPLACE this with a desktop??? i would love to have this for traveling (duh...) but no to replace my gaming PC. and the whole fun of desktops is building your PC.

  • @gumberly I do understand that it is fun, i actually built my own i7 monster :)

Speaking of performance, in practice there is no difference.

Its same as comparing 1333mghz RAM with 2000MGhz. .

  • @bigdima3 in practice, your can't water cool an sr-2 with 2 xeons and 4 580's in sli in a friggin notebook. period.

  • @gumberly I wouldn't want all that in a desktop...

  • @Lethalhammer U just had 2 watercooled

Vid cards in ur rig. WHY DID U GET RID OF THEM. Replace your rig with a LAPTOP??

  • @gumberly My guess is you are not reading my responses?

  • @Lethalhammer yes your right. i didn't see that you are moving to a new place and don't have room. so what is the battery life on this?

  • @gumberly to be upfront I did not buy this system for its battery life as this system is a true desktop replacement. but I have the system running now on battery with BFBC2 for an hour so far and it says it has 30min left on battery.

  • @bigdima3 Well that depends on what you running with the memory. 2000MHz memory is going to allow you to get better clocks on your CPU, and utilize all the fast tech built in with i7 technology.

  • @gumberly I am moving to a small apartment and a massive desktop with 3 LCDs was not an option.

  • SATA 3.0 and SATA 2.0? Do you mean USB 3.0 and 2.0?

  • @TheiTouchGuy1994

    3.0 and 2.0 sata

    both

  • @TheiTouchGuy1994

I don't think so. SATA 2.0 is 3Gb/sec transfer speeds. SATA 3.0 is 6Gb/sec transfer speeds. All this pertaining to HDD's and SSD's.

  • @TheiTouchGuy1994 Yup... I miss spoke

  • Your replacing your desktop with that?? Why?

  • @brandonsexywhitaker I am moving to a small apartment and a massive desktop with 3 LCDs was not an option.

  • @brandonsexywhitaker Some of us have no need for a powerful gaming desktop. For me, I play more older games than newer ones and this laptop allows me to max all of them as well as some of the more current ones. Sometimes convenience and space are more valuable than brute force power.
