imagine world where conservatorys are more popular than universitys, and people could only work for the things they need to live... so they could dedicate themselves to make beautifull things like this. there would be so much more happiness arround.
I was lucky enough to see and hear this piece today seated in the front row. Even if for just one moment...I was in awe. The relationship between these 2 instruments seemed to carry on a meaningful conversation that i will probably never forget.
7:50 just knocked me out... that high note just went through all my body.... What a sound...What an intensity... Generally I think this performance shows how talented people can be. Actually I don't remember any peace which can excite so much. And here it is... Absolutely perfect playing... Nothing to say. Every single note has a meaning, every melodic line goes to a heart. I don't think that it's possible to play better. Can't even imagine that.
Thanks so much for posting this video- this sonata happens to be one of the pieces I'm working on right now and will be performing in December. Your video makes it possible for me to study Perlman's playing in-depth, which is invaluable and greatly appreciated!

What a fantastic piece, I've always found that the fewer the instruments the harder it is to write. And with such fluency and expressiveness...

And just think about the composer who wrote it. What a heart he must have had..

is this piece appropriate for a chamber music ensemble? does it have equal piano and violin parts?
LOVE PERLMAN BTW his vibrato sounds so tender and gentle, yet so rich and brilliant. and just everything. no one compares!!!
