  • Hello, So where exactly did you have the recorder set up in relation to the amp. I made a recording with a Marshall DSL50 and it sounded bad. I had the recorder about 6 feet away from the cab. Thanks, Joe

  • @jcarno64 All depends on...type of amp,mic placement ,the room you are in etc. The way I set it up to find the best recording position was to play a riff through my looper and move the tascam unit around until I found the best position. Remember you have to compensate with eq while recording...if it sounds too thin roll back the mid and treble and roll up the bass and vice versa. I used a 5 watt valve amp. 6 feet is way too far away! You will loose clarity and pick up too much room ambience.

  • @NHBEY39 Yes......Thin is correct for how mine sounded. Also mine didn't sound as clear as yours. Thanks for the tips! I'll play around with positioning and eq.

BTW, You make some pretty cool vids. That 4D one is awesome!

  • Hi - thanks for doing the video. I am considering buying a DP-004 and saw that you're using a Champion 600. I have the same amp and love the tone. I'm really impressed with the internal mics. Your room has great sound too.

  • @ameangreenbean Hi and thanks. I actually used the Laney amp with reverb but the champion is a good little amp too. Just purchased a Vox ac4tv and for under £200 is amazing! The Tascam Dp-004 is a great little gadget for messing about with and if you get the internal mic's in the right place get pretty good results.
