Yo, this sucks...all it does is scan for the file name of the virus. Even with this, it doesn't have real-time protection or any actual signatures or heuristics to detect the infection.

Nah Everyone this is real, but it only scans for known bad filepaths, such as C:\Update.exe. It works but it is very limited. The only real way to scan is to use Hex signatures and to use heuristics on a file to determine the status. Check out my profile for a real working visual basic antivirus with realtime protection.

I plan to upload some videos showing proof of concept and that it works.

its verry easy just make a scanner and download a malwarelist from internet (that is made for vb)

every time the scanner see a file that is on the list it delete that file

MalwareBytes was made with VB. I know this because the layout is simple instead of all of those other advanced antiviruses like AVG, Norton and MSE, Malwarebytes has everything VB has! Simple textboxes, lables, buttons, progress bars and tabs, they all come from VB! MalwareBytes also says that it was made with Visual Studio or something like that. BTW this antivirus is WAY to good to be homemade. Good job!

@hmuldrow67 MalwareBytes was made PARCILY in vb6, not in vb.net there is a difference. The rest is in Visual C++. You have to know, that there is other programming languages that use the .NET framework. Visual Basic is ment to get someone starter with the .NET framework. Everyone, just because MalwareBytes was PARCILY made in vb6. Don't attempt to be like it, you won't get anywhere close to in, the biggest reason is the heuristics api.

if any one wants to know how to make a real anti virus in vb check out my channel mine uses md5 sigs and includes 765 sigs any way, good job but this wont work to well if the person changes the virus name. but anyway better than a lot of av's ive seen on here.
