The Yakuza really don't have any power outside of Japan. Ethnic organized crime groups usually prosper in places like America where they can thrive in ethnic working class neighborhoods (ie Little Italys, Irish neighborhoods, Asian neighborhoods) However, there really is not a large enough Japanese population in America, and the few Japanese in America are too middle class now to be involved in organized crime.
