i dont get it, if hudson is from a proper well to do family, why didnt he get a gentlemens job or something of the type?

though If his family is of lower or middle class, then why doesnt he tell them hes a butler, theres no shame at all?

Once again..this all comes down to how we were back then,

Hudson is older than his Brother..British Stature demanded that "The Older you are..The Wiser you are" and therefore,should be in a Better position in Life.

For Hudson to come clean and admit to his Brother that he was a mere Butler..would be like confessing that he sweeps the streets for a living!
