  • I had a friend with a healthy 302 in a Pinto and that thing was downright frightening to ride in. They really need the frame work you did. Good job.

  • Power to weight ratio, wow! You better aim right when you take off

  • I'm a Chevy guy. That is a badass FORD!

  • First On Race Day?

  • SWWWWEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT!

  • Chevy Nova look out !

  • clevelands are bad ass. i love the way they sound. cool pinto.

  • man this brings me back i had a 71 runabout put a built 289 in her, mustang 2 headers

that wrapped around the trans houseing, made the car look like she came with a v8

i traded her in back in 93 for 69 firebird, which is on here orange with black stripes

but i wish i could of had both. cool ride bro......tim

  • I jizzed

  • I really like this car, nice job! I built a Mustang II(cousin to the Pinto) with a 332" stroker V8, check out my vids.

  • i have a 71 pinto that same color i bought from a lady who got a DUI and parked it in 1983 under a shed. it has the 2.0 with auto trans and has 75850 actual miles.

  • sweet

  • @238truth... Inner fenders are cut out. It helps. Makes more room for custom headers.

  • hey what mufflers are you running on there

  • Good Stuff !

  • @cliffkimmel

Not sure on the headers, look like hookers. The mufflers are 3.5" Flowmaster 40's.

  • @19713969 That's one bad pinto!

  • What headers and mufflers are you running?

  • That thing sounds like a beast.

  • now!!!! thats a serious machine i bet you can run corvettes and those italian cars on a straight away like they were sitting still

  • Hot Ride man, got the right color, engine and everything..i got a 75 bobcat myself wanting a 351c for it myself

  • I would love to have it back if its for sale I miss it email me toria9769@aol.com

  • 100 stars to ya, i used to own a v8 pinto that i built, i put a 302 in her, the a 289

with headers. the CAR LOOKED like it came with a v8 i still have pics too.

i owned the car for 15 years then traded her in for a 69 firebird. i do miss that car

and so does my wife...that one bad ass pinto..........

  • It's a tube chassis car. There's almost enough room to walk around in there. The engine can be pulled without removing the radiator and the there's enough clearance to remove the oil pan while it's in the car.

  • @19713969 that is B.A.! i love the sound, im building a cleveland powered maverick. actually just got it going.. but i want that sound! tell me some more about you engine combo.

currently its a 351 2v and is bone stock. but i want to build one with 4v heads(the quench chamber ones). and a big solid lifter cam, and tunnel ram + plenty of compression to make use of E-85.

  • @nickriede

Sounds like you're on the right track- big lift. .310 duration, etc...

  • @19713969 cool pinto

    how fast is it?

  • @nickriede what are you turning it? tunnel rams suck at less than 8k, and there'd better be some serious stuff inside that block if you're doing that!

  • @bjhump94

I've done some launches in it behind a friend's shop and been to some local car shows last fall, then I herniated a lower disc around Christmas, so I haven't been able to get to the track. Car should run low to mid-10's.

  • @bjhump94

I'm am seriously consider selling, I have '65 fastback Mustang that I would like to restore...

It has a solid lifter camshaft.

    Thanks.

  • just like the gap and roush drag pintos of the 70's

  • It's really similar. I don't know who built the chassis, but they did a good job.

  • awesome man i love those clevelands! I'm actually going to put one in my 65 mustang coupe.

  • That will be wicked! You'll have to do some modifying to get it to fit though. I'm getting ready to restore a '65 fastback myself.

  • I saw 351C pwd Pinto and I was like I hope he modded the enghine comp cuz there aint no way a Clevo can fit in there and I see you did that and backhlaved it becuase that lil bastard is prob squirlly as a mofo! Kick ass car btw too. I love the dorky 70's cars with Huge V8's I own a damn GREMLIN with a V8 myself :-)

  • Glad you like it. The only way to do one is to set the motor back. Otherwise, a Pinto will be nose heavy and will never hook up. This thing hooks hard and straight. I'm going to sell soon to put together another project ('65 fastback).

  • naw, not the only way to do one....i've got an '80 with a Cleveland in the stock position with a four-link......but if the rear suspension isn't just right, it's squirrely as hell!......this is the way to do it!

  • Nice PINTO, thatmustang project would be sweet to, I got a 63 Fairlane I wanna put a stroker into.

  • Cool car. It must be pretty nuts fast. Ever get a chance to run it yet?

  • Thanks! Haven't been to the track yet, working on tuning and hitting some car shows. I just installed the inner valve springs, new starter and battery yesterday. I figure it should run around 10.5, but I may need to change the gears because it has 5.13's set up for the 1/8, so I'm going to hit the 1/8 mile track first.

I'll post more videos as I get them.

    Thanks again,

    Dean
