@IAISrailfanner thanks man! on a good day you can probably catch around 5-7 freight trains however there are around 20 MBTA commuter rail trains daily.
Nice shooting, I can't remember the last non-"typical" Pan Am road job I've shot, it's been a while. (AYMO doesn't count, as doesn't POSE/SEPO or the locals) Nice to see you managed to get two in a day, though I bet you weren't expecting to be shooting them in the snow this time of year!
@AliceInChains243 thanks dude! there was actually a POSE coming right up WAAY's ass but i had to get home. haha nah i definitely wasnt expecting there to be a foot of snow on the ground, shoes got all wet :P
Great snow scenes here! Really!! And the lighting is fantastic! But I never knew Pan Am also owned a railroad-or is this a different corporate entity? I do see the air line logo on a few cars, though. When most of us hear the name Pan Am planes come to mind! But I prefer the rails!
Seaboard, prior to the CSX merger, billed themselves as an "air line" RR for a while.
@bullfrog1954 Guilford Rail Systems is now Pan Am Railways, name change took place in 2006 or 2008. Guilford Transportation Industries, which is the owner of Pan Am stuff, also changed to Pan Am Industries. Same management, same everything, just a new color and new name.
@GRS504videos They appear to be a much better company under the Pan Am name, at least track speeds have greatly improved, though I'm sure that if NS didn't come in and forward them some cash for the infrastructure upgrades they'd still be running at "Guilford Speed" off of the MBTA-owned portions. My guess is that within the next decade, NS is going to give Mellon "an offer he can't refuse" and just buy the entire system and give CSX a run for their money in the New England market. We shall see.
@AliceInChains243 I doubt this, Even without NS providing money, up here in Maine the system was slowly improving. Also, NS would buy the "Pan Am Southern" portion and not give a rats ass about anything further north of Boston. If Canadian National pulled out of New England in the 80's and Canadian Pacific pulled out in the 90's. I highly doubt a class 1 would come back into Maine, and New Hampshire.
Nice shot,How many trains a day on this line?
