I think it's awesome you bring up Relient K, although I'm not cool enough to see it XP
BUT one thing I did think when I was listening to this song was, "This is practically alternative, if it wasn't already labeled Disney."
Therefore, I like to think of them as out-of-the-box more freelance thinkers :D

Pretty much their whole CD (Insomniatic) is about breaking up and relationships...But a lot of the songs, you can relate to the lyrics and the beat just makes you wanna listen.
