  • as soon as he started... singing.... i burst into laughter!!

  • You know, this isn't THAT bad.

  • The late Kenny Everitt brought this to our attention in the early 80s. Had a lot of fun with this track ! Love the comparisons to other artists on this page...they're all possible ! Reggie was just one of many examples of wacky 'celebs' from the past. His forte was reading the ITV news a bit pissed !

  • omg lol its soo funny bad that its good!

  • Shades of Ian Dury...

    'One more verse, eh?' Classic

  • At least they use instruments, unlike computerized crap posing as music today. Honestly if you took this track and just listened to the music and not the lyrics it's not half bad.

  • this is fucking great.

  • I didn't know Malcolm McDowell had a rap career.

  • It's got a nice beat. A Hip-hop remake anyone?

  • Not a million miles from Ian Dury and the Blockheads ;)

  • what crap is this????? D= this is nasty. no wonder why disco isnt around anymore XD.

  • But Rebecca Black is far worse...

  • @rouge490 nope.

  • My word. It's like the Flying Lizards, but with a bloke. Like some kind of satanic cabaret. And he feels rather splendid.

  • I can't stop listening to this.

  • @SuperKsanford thats exactly what i did

  • Reginald Bosanquet = TROLL

  • Okay, so this is on a list of worst songs in existence. I love a lot of disco songs that many people hate - I mean, I really enjoy 'em. Giving this a listen to see if maybe it's got a charm to it.

Well, okay. My first guess is that this was intended as satire, in the grand history of British-style humor, which is really hard to put into words (and I'm American). If this IS supposed to be serious, it's pretty awful, but I'm guessing it's supposed to be funny in which case yeah, it's very funny.

  • One more verse, OK?

I feel rather splendid at present, yes it's er...um... an amazing thought that one can move so many parts at one time... ooh yes, where was I?

  • This is the best bad song ever!!!

  • It's a shame about the aweful lyrics, because the bassline has real danceability

  • It has me really mesmorised with its awefulness.

  • This song sounds like a British guy got really drunk, then randomly started reading song lyrics, while occasionally adding his own words, over a generic disco track. I love it.

  • Um...this is a SONG???

  • Good old Reggie Bosanquet. This is class in a glass! Awesome!

  • So bad, it's good!

  • no-one would play this anywhere ever lol

  • I can feel the room swaying!

  • What WAS Pye THINKING?!

  • Did he just end a song with "That's all"? Dear god.

  • This is better than rap. By far

  • I dunno, I kinda dig it. Maybe weird but its simplistic. I'm not saying that it is one of the best songs ever. It is definitely not some of the overloaded crap of today. Beauty in simplicity my friend. Now am I gonna go and disco to this, Hell no, but could I dig this song a couple of times, ya I think I can. As far as the worst songs, I can think of plenty more than this. RALPH!!!!! EARLLLLL!!!!!!!

  • I think they made it intentionally horrible. It's like a dance song for people that need in-depth directions for dancing.

  • This is just fantastic!

  • This makes me want to cheer for the Baha Men and Milli Vanilli. AWFL too terrible for U.

  • Date a asian lady # lushfmlk.info #

  • A disco song recorded by a British newscaster, voted #1 in the Bottom 30 by listeners of British DJ Kenny Everett in a 1980 follow-up to his World's Worst Wireless Show.

  • That isnt actually bad, instrumental is cool.

Besides it supposed to be comedy record.

  • funking genious!!!

  • I love this soooo much! Yes, DANCE! DANCE! DANNNNNCE!!!!!!!

  • The Pavarotti of breaking news...YNWA

  • I met him in a Whitehall boozer once - he was pissed as a fart ...

  • I met him in a whitehall boozer once - he was as pissed as a fart ......

  • excellent!

  • The voiceover is stupid but it's far from the worst song I've heard...

  • ZOMG!!! THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVAR!!!!!!! (aside from prit stik (1986) of course)

  • Plz, plz, plz gimme a download link, this MUST go on my Ipod

  • O M G this is fucking hilarious!

  • if you cut out the vocal track, it's actually a good song

  • the original roger mellie

  • its like shatner, it just works even though it should be bad.

  • This consist as worst.........Well,he a reporter,not a singer XDXD

  • I wonder if he sang out of the side of his gob ?

  • This is a deathless work of genius from one of the leviathans of British broadcasting.

Incidentally, he's buried in the same cemetery as my late mother (Putney Vale). I think she'd be pleased, as she could see the funny side of this maverick newsreader. We shall not see or hear his like again!

  • You just can`t help singing along to it can you?

  • I am related to this amazing man lol

He is my great, great uncle or something =]

  • At first I thought it was an impersonation of him, then I did alittle digging and found that he actually did do this record according to the vid description. It was said that he was ill advised to do it but I say good on him for doing it. Alittle weird but its still good. Not like the rest of the 'stuffed shirts' at the time. But then, there was Angela Rippon and her amazing legs....

  • This is so awful it's amazing.

  • I bought this!

  • This is my great Uncle :-) Im proud to carry the family name hahaha

  • I found this on Wikipedias worst songs ever. Definitely up there!

  • Such a pity this was never on Top of the Pops - imagine!

And i've heard far worse tracks than this :)

  • i read tht he had epilepsy thts why his words were slurred but maybe im wrong

  • Nothing to do with him being on the sauce, then?

  • He had a bit of a reputation for the sauce, certainly...

  • Cheers for posting...I remember hearing this for the first and only time on Kenny Everitts Capital Radio show segment of the Worlds Worst records. Reggie was on the show and played a terrible record by Kenny-poo featuring the line "Aspidistra in her hand"...any one got that by any chance?

  • This was from the SECOND world's worst records list. It was number 1. The first list had I Want My Baby Back by Jimmy Cross at no 1

What a shame this wasn't on the World's Worst Records LP(!)

  • READ MY MESSAGE AGAIN. Everett did the world's worst records TWICE, and you never said a word about that, and you never said anything either about this being number one either.

  • Reggie |Bosanquet was a legend in the golden age of 70s TV. He regularly presented while drunk, slurring his words but somehow kept it all together.

Unfortunately TV is now obsessed with sweet, young, vaccuous things who can barely read an autocue (unlike Reggie who could after 9-10 pints).

  • This is genius, warped genius, but still genius!

  • So YOU'VE got the other copy! lol
