She seems to have difficulty really standing up for something in general, always relativizing her own standpoint, so as to rule out the possibility of stepping on somebody's toes.
yeah, she has so much trouble stepping on somebody's toes that she compared meat to rape and signed the roman polanski petition. great argument there, buddy.
@Popsicle789 Your reading comprehension could use some work. I just looked it up, and she doesn't equate eating meat with rape at all (if anything, it should be murder anyway... and although I fail to see how one could not see the very real connection between those two, it's obviously not a very sensible comparison to make). As for the petition, it's such a delicate and complex matter, I don't think anybody should judge Polanski without diligent research and possibly meeting him themselves.
@Popsicle789 And I dare say that Natalie, knowing him personally, can probably judge the situation better than people on the web, most of whom are misguided by harmful moral conventions and sensationalist mass media.
By the way, in that article, she actually reiterates what I said about her before, which is evident in many of her interviews and public appearances throughout the years: she's a people pleaser, so she tries her hardest not to offend anybody.
It's her own choice what she eats, but promoting it as veganism (and this is far from the first time I've seen this) is inconsiderate and unethical. In today's world, it's a reality for some people that maintaining a vegan lifestyle is nearly impossible, so I think promoting organic farming can be a good compromise, IF put into proper context. She, however, provides no context at all.
Haha, I love these comments from all these vegans getting their panties in a knot. It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad seeing how so many supposedly "enlightened" people can't refrain from name-calling and hissy-fits. Yes, the interviewer's comments were ignorant and in bad taste, that's no reason to emulate him.
Vegan myself, btw, going on 4 years now. I've always been critical of how Natalie portrays veganism.
hahahaha
