wow, you mean consumer (user) is king?!? What a brilliant concept. Too bad so many businesses forgot this for years. Then when it strikes them, now its all about YOU YOU YOU. web 2.0 3.0 etc are marketing terms. There is actually no truth in it as these are just enhanced and improved ideas, the likes of which has existed for a long time, before these terms were mentioned. This kind of thing hacks me off as a professional web-developer how the so called "professionals" use the terms and say its fact so half the worlds population belives it... its heracy

Web 2.0 - it's a buzzword no one has the same definition for it, even experts. Leads me to believe it is more of an abstract than a concrete. It's about the way the web is changing toward providing more interaction with users, making users the content generators - but then, it's also about design. So web 2.0 encompasses not only the interactive content but also that sleek, minimalist shiny design you all see.

Actually it's using user provided content more intelligently than before. By analyzing user content and matching users and user profiles you can create additional services and recommendations to specifics services or products. Additionally, user involvement is also increased, by letting them organize content as they see fit (taggin and such). The possibilities are practically endless.
