you have some nice equipment bro. how putting up some more videos and demos or training up ,And yes denon equipment is excelent but every person there own unique preferences pioneer cant amke everyone happy just like denon cant make everyone happy but my preference is denon there affordable and have that good high quality PEACE VIVA PUERTO RICO
@trmsh098 I hate hard plastic buttons. That's why I buy Denon. Rubber buttons feel like a higher quality. All Denon products have these this type of button.
i used to use the cdj-800 back in the day when i did just house and club stuff and now i started back up again and i have been using the denon 700's and i do heavy mixing but i just bought one of these to try out. i am so excited to get it tomorrow
I owned a pair of Pioneer CDJ1000 mk3's, Denon DNHS5500's and now a pair Denon DNS3700's, (in that order) with 25 years DJ/ Producer experience, If I owned a club i would have pioneers for one reason only (DJ's would moan if any other player was installed - most dj's are like sheep) but for myself i wanted the best player - DENON !
how do they compare to mixing on 1210's as i bought some radius 3000's and didnt like the change so they are now on ebay lol, is the torque on the platter similar to vinyl and can you mix the same way i usually pitch bend by touching my finger on the side of the platter or pushing it round in the centre, do they respond like technics in this way?
@mikegesus its a play/pause button cd decks dont have a seperate stop button and the brake will normally be an effect setting or mode you assign to the pause function
at least the platter is 10" like a real table should be or even 12"! anybody bitchin aint a real DJ OR TABLIST! nothin but cyber twats with no history or records! you dont like it?? fuck off!!!
@DJV4V3 My first pretty decent mixer was a dnx1500 and I thought it was great. I thought it was laid out like shit but once I got around that it was great. Ive tried several of their cd players and cant say a whole lot for em. But then again there are companies like gemini that just fail everywhere
@DJV4V3 Sadly If the spinning platter ideology where correct Pioneer wouldnt have been the first company recognized by the industry and DJs in the professional circle as being the first company to emulate the feel of vinyl to the satisfaction of more DJs. I noticed most scratch DJs would rather use a serato/traktor type program or stick with real vinyl altogether. Everyones different tho. I started on vinyl and when I went digi the dennons seemed kinda cheap to me so its all opinion in the end
Sure, they might be better - but the CDJ's are the industry standard, you pay extra for the layout and smooth transition from bedroom banger to club DJ.
I personally use DNS 1200's and a Xone 92 with Traktor Live, an X1 and I can honestly say that even though I love my setup and prefer the feel of the Denon's, it bites going back and forth from each layout every time I play in a different location!
@jlcool007 Its a useless feature if it dosent serve a necessary function. I dont know a CD that dosent play without an overhead motorized platter. Its 1 more thing that dosent need to be there that can eventually break. If spinning platters r that important to people they need to get turntables. At least there it serves a needed function other than making insecure cd users feel better about not being on a real turntable. Theres a reason more pros use Pioneer and not Denon. Denons great for noobs
@sandmarch7 whoa little girl haha. i think the biggest deal is that turntables are so huge to carry around haha. i think you should be laying some of your childish smackdown on NS7 owners lol haha... spinning platters NOT on a turntable must make you REAL sick to your stomach huh?
I also find it funny that you attack my benign post.
anyways, next time, make sure you put your tampon in or just don't post when it's that time of the month,
@jlcool007 Well that obviously hit a nerve with you. What I was saying if you could have read that properly was that a spinning platter has no technical function on a cd player and in fact only serves to preserve the weak minds of people that just cant handle the fact that its not a real turntable. If turning platters are all that matter to you maybe ya aught to just buy a gemini turntable, stay home and stare at it. You did a heck of a job there making no real argument whatsoever :D
ok Im convinced I made the right choice to buy this cd player for sure! Yo Dude Denon needs to give you a percentage! Thats the best non sell Sell i have ever seen! Keep it up Dude!
I have 2 x s3700's and a x1700 mixer.. Awesome setup feels like using real vinyl, I have used 1200's (vinyl is soo fking expensive now) I have used CDJ's (don't mind them they're okay) I'm not sure about the way the pioneers handle. So when i did all my rersearch and played on pretty much every CDJ Numark (shit) denon and whatever else i could get my hands on. The Denon's won, but this is me and my opinion. and thats all djing is, a preference to the equipment you feel comfortable with..
i just have denon's dn-s3700 at my home end i must say 100% acurate and crazy fast response.!!! wery tight pich control.. you can beat match it perfect end bpm is correct in 000,1 bpm... realy beautiful machine... thank you denon for fucking up pioneer...!!!
@jigibao Good call man. I could've gotten CDJ-2000's if i wanted but i seriously couldnt justify it. I like the screen on the 2000's but the jog wheel on it literally feels cheap and shitty. Sorry... not about to shell out $1600 so i can look cool. Go Denon.
@tranjohn They are not multi format they only play with the use of a laptop. Denon does that and more. The closest thing would be something from Pioneer.
@montyladd Doubt he does, there's a big difference between what you said, "using shit stuff deliberately to be different", and what he said, "using what feels confortable".
Also, Computers are better then laptops at pretty much everything, so I don' t really get the point there either.
For DJing? A laptop is a lot smaller then a Desktop, and you don't need an amazing rig for music editing. A decent sound card, something like a dual core processor, and a chunk of RAM. I would Not want to carry around a desktop computer PLUS my turntables. ^_^
im old school with turntabels and now use denon, and would not change it for world...best decs on market..thank you denon for this phono feel of cd players, and if i may say on good PA mp3 files sucs in low audio quality... no offence...nice video and tune!!!
@jigibao I see there are still real Dj's out here; that feel is most important. Their are other good players out here. The feel just can't touch Denon.
@DjfrankiB hahahahhahahhahahhahahah wery true... real dj's use real equipmant... last nite i did tibetan party in antwerpen end im glad that i use cdj's ... i will newer change...by the way party was AAA++++ my respect to you...
@montyladd Most if not all Dj's that spin vinyl can spin cd's, mp3 cd's, or use timecodes. The key word I was talking about is the sync button. The button that allows you to not use the pitch control. This button makes people who wanted to Dj; but probably sucked at it, all of a sudden sound like they know what they are doing. Most Dj software has this button. The cheating laptop sync button Dj is why Dj'ing as a whole; now is being looked at as anybody can do it.
@montyladd I use all formats. I will be purchasing the Denon DN MC6000. The only reason why is because the controller gives the most control out of all controllers and you can still use your 3700's if the software crashes. I have never been a Dj that followed others. I do what feels comfortable to me. My occupation is not a Dj; but I have done many parties for many years. When I get the controller and use it with the software. I will not use the sync button. I take it you use the SYNC BUTTON.
i have always been a vynil dj and you could say i was a die hard cause i just could not get into digital djing until i touched a set of denons dn-s3500 and it was love at first spin.i love them to death, they keep it real and the feel of the decks is as solid as a technics 1200 deck.I'm currently looking to get these new 3700's and i can't wait..keep spinnin kid..
And people in the 1800s rode on stagecoaches... now we ride jet planes evolve with the time or leave the old times to the history books.. we don't need to hear about crates of records and old victrolas.. I use these every weekend with a laptop, solid perfomance and the crowd doesn't give a damn about vinyl or digital.. just as long as you keep the dancefloor packed and keep it fresh....
i call this style of DJing "push button" DJing for newbies ..original DJs dont use loops and buttons to sound like this.. they use Real Vinyl or Control records on 1200s:)
@selectajay2000 I started on a pair of old belt drive turntables with a rotary knob pitch on the front that went left to right, When we beat juggled, scratched or spent the record backward fast or forward. You had to put a penny on the tone arm to keep the tone arm on the record. This was back in the early 80's. I can currently still use a turntable and wax quite good. I guess all this technology has made me fat and lazy. Hauling hand made crates with all that wax, I think I have earned it.
@FiSTFigHT09 These players are the best players to date. The platter feel is way ahead of the cdj's or the ns7's or v7's. The cdj has the same old non moving plastic platter that has been on the unit since introduction. The Numark ns7 and v7 need computers and the platter is also a 7inch instaed of a 9 inch like the denon. The old 3500's had a 7 inch platter. The Denon is a stand alone cd/mp3/ usb player or software controller. Their is no player that cost so little that gives you so much.
@tranjohn The Denon 3700 has 2 usb drive's on the back. The player allows you to use a portable hard drive or thumb drive on usb 1. I am not using a cd. I am using a portable hard drive. The V7 only allows you to use your laptop, that's it; because it has no usb that will play a hard drive or thumb drive. The Denon player also allows you use a laptop on usb 2 just like the Numark. All of that for $699.00 at 123 dj. Do your homework on equipment. Also Denon quality is better than Numark.
@DjfrankiB $300 just for 2 extra USB drives on the back? V7 has better platters which i'd rather have over 2 extra usb drives:) I have done my homework! Can get 2 V7's for another $100 over than the Denon's. Anyway most DJ's uses laptops these days when djing! Someone did a comparison with the V7's and the 3700 and the V7 came out on top! I think ur biased cause u own a 3700! V7 ALL DAY EVERY DAY BABY!
@tranjohn I don't use a laptop. I don't need to because I use the usb feature on the unit. I am not biased on the 3700. The Numark V7 is not even comparable to me, The V7 is a player that only controls the laptop. It is not a multi format player. The CDJ 2000, CDJ 900, or CDJ 850, would be more of a comparison. The Denon does many things; while the V7 can only play if you have a laptop. The V7 is good; just not as good as the Denon. Muti format means every format except sd card or dvd cd's.
@tranjohn You mean the effects that are in the software you use, Last I checked the V7 did not have on board effects. The Denon players always had on board effects. Good luck with that Numark stuff. Whenever you start seeing the price drop; that means they are probably going to discontinue something.
@DjfrankiB V7 does have an on board effects it has the NFX that's sold separate from the NS7 built in, plus u can use one v7 to mix so all u need is one V7 and a mixer. V7 and the NS7 are one of their best items so why would the want to discontinue it! Plus it was only released last year lol
@tranjohn Oh yeah hope your laptop does'nt crash. If and when it does you can think about if you had 3700's you would be able to switch over from midi, to usb, cd, or mp3 cd; while your computer re boots.
@tranjohn Everyone's laptop crashes. I own a pc and a macbook. I have Serato', Tracktor Pro, and Virtual Dj 7. None of those programs is free from freezing. The point is you came on my you tube video page talking nonsense. The 3700 plays with a laptop like the V7 or it can play a whole lot more formats the V7 can't even think about playing. You also can use just 1 player, the feature is called "next track". Denon is the real pro at direct drive 9" platter cd, mp3 cd, usb, software controllers.
@tranjohn Denon was making 7" inch platters like the V7 a long time ago. I think the only thing Numark had was the Axis series table tops. You're probably to young to remember. Denon moved up to a bigger platter; because it feels better. It is closer to the all time great. The 1200 turntable; which you probably never used. Numark can't beat a pro at it's own game. Denon invented this shit son (direct drive players). Numark stole that vinyl ideal from the old Denon 3500's. Keep your copy cats.
@DjfrankiB no problem man, you have my respect.. ! i like the way you play with this cdj.. wich are my next step 100% no soory for it. i love the feel of winyl but sound end ease of cd,end i DONT LIKE SOUND OF MP3.... i can hear on big PA the diference.. computer is ease because of many music files with dj, but as you say "computer do crash oor block" from time to time.. so i play with cd's end pitch control... my way.. franky make some more videos..regards !!
@DjfrankiB more like Numark started this shit son(direct drive players)! Numark cdx and hdx came out with 12inch motorized platters platters back in 2003. So Numark didn't copy shit! Guess u don't know as much as u thought u did lol
@tranjohn Denon had Dn S3000's and 5000's back then. The difference is they were belt drive instead of direct. Those CDX players were hot garbage lol. Also the NS7 and V7 are good; just not as good as Denon. That probably explains why you are on a Denon youtube page and not a Numark one. I had Numark products before. Back in the day it was only Numark or Gemini. Numark was better. When you compare Numark to Denon; Numark loses. Denon quality is better. And the feature set is one of the best.
@tranjohn V7 is a suitable solution, as well as DNS3700 as it servers to the same purpose; the cuestion is DN-S3700 is capable of work with almost any source you have, while V7 depends upon the laptop only; I think any solution you may select is a nice choice, considering that DNS3700 and V7 shares the same function: to act as controller for some hosts like Traktor, in example. So if you are pleased with V7 is fine, I'll select DN-S3700 and everybody's happy.
@selectajay2000 i feel u.funny, usually im the old guy making these remarks. my cousin kills it on this style set up but i am a believer in the almighty 1200's.
@selectajay2000 Kinda sad to see all this great technology being used as a crutch (not here, in general), instead of as a tool of innovation. The Djs that started on vinyl are crushin it with digital tools, but the standard nowdays is kids with $3000 worth of gear and they can't do things that average DJs were doing 20 years ago.You gotta admit though that the possibilities with the digital advancements are pretty exciting when in the hands of an innovator. Ex. Every sound ever can be scratchd
@selectajay2000 I agree ,but believe it or not cdjs are harder to learn than vinyl so there is no less talent when it comes to mixing . But scratching is probably harder on vinyl . And yes all DJs use loops and samples unless you play only your own original music ! But i see what your saying , I like that things are changing ,and i like technology and the evolution of it . And its damn hard to find a vinyl shop these days that angers me !
@selectajay2000 Nah I don't know. I think it's just changed. When you used to take your time getting the "basics" all down back in the day, nowadays you can use that time to use technology to do some new stuff with music.
The only problem with the mixdeck, is that Numark made it. I had Numark back in the day; because it was better than Gemini. Today their products are better; but the quality does not come close to Denon. Their products never last long.
If you want something very very good for low cash, then i recommend you to buy the new Numark Mixdeck its awsome i have it and i dont need anything else, its just perfect ;)
@thecssnoobz I have Traktor, Serato and 1200's. I like manipulating music without the use of DJ software. I use 2 500g external hard drives. Turntables are too heavy; but if I used my 1200's I would play wax. It sound better. The post is about the Denon DN-S3700 cd/mp3/media player. Why take my laptop when the player has a usb port on it. The DJ sofware programs are why all of sudden everyone claims their a DJ. This is the next step after the laptop and DJ software.
@DjfrankiB No offense, but I don't really think this is the next step after the laptop and DJ software, just my opinion.
And while some just use the software to make it easier than it should be, you are making exactly the same in here, which is no bad, in the contrary, we should use what is available to make better things.
Oh and BTW i really prefer this over the pioneer ones, feels more real to me
Hi frank!, i have both CDJ 2000s and DNS 3700s, and in my personal opinion, the DNS 3700 gives a more solid and professional feel than the CDJ 2000, even if Pioneer cost about $ 2000 or allmost $ 3000 each here in Sweden its not really hard to figure out what to buy, the build quality in Denon is far beyond, and thats no BS, Dont get me wrong CDJ 2000 are really good, but i rather have 4 DNS 3700 than 2 CDJ 2000 cause you can do so much more as a dj.
@DJSEvEN72 always been more of a denon fan than pioneer. allen and heath for mixers though straight up. hopefully these can break the monopoly on cdjs in club setups
If i wanted to have the vinyl feel, i would still scratching on my SL1200Mk2
For my cd's and multiformat and midi needs i would prefer CDJ's 2000 they are better for these purposes.Denon's might have way better platter-scratch feeling but on the other features i think Pioneer's cdj series are out-braving.
No offense with Denon-no a pioneer fan-boy S3700 it's a solid cd player.
I like too much your X1700 Mixer far far far better of my DJM-800.
When I say vinyl feel, it is not all about scratching. The feel of the platter when cueing a track up, when beat juggling, or just releasing it at the break for your blend is just hands down better. Pioneer does have a bunch of formats that can be played on the player, but I prefer all my music on cd, mp3 cd, or usb. The Denon can play all these formats. It is hard enough remembering what music is where without scattering it all over on too many formats.. The Denon MIDI mode is far superior.
Also compare $1899.00 vs $899.00 with a $100.00 rebate. Denon is a $799.00 player that came out almost 2 years ago that can hang with if not outperform a $1899.00 player that came out almost 1 year ago. That says a lot about Pioneer's ego. Pioneer has a line of fools just waiting to say they got Pioneers. Pioneer is probably designed by want to be Dj's. Denon is probably designed by real working Dj's.
Love this video, I'm tired if these videos where all they do is scratch......I want to see more of what the unit can do !!!!!, after watching this ....I'm 100% sure these are the
new players Im upgrading to.....anybody want to buy my old Numark HDX players
Things just changed - Pioneer doesnt have the new Hybrid mode that the Denons have now got - They just started letting the new hybrid firmware mode firmware be downloaded tonight - I've installed it and its fantastic - hybrid mode blows away units costing 3 times as much as the 3700s - You get the tightness of DVS Timecode control from the platter, but have the flexibility of being able to program all the buttons on the 3700 to Midi controls for your software - this is nothing short of amazing.
@Scotty3am I think I got that new firmware update. I got a friend that is a sales rep for Denon that gave it to me a few weeks ago. Is the operating system 1331?
Hey I just ordered these... wondering if you have custom colored vinyl or if it's just the light reflecting off the black vinyl, sry if it's a stupid question... but it looks real nice haha
Bought these two weeks ago and they are so much fun to play about with. I love my scratching and it took me literaly 1 min to get a feel for them and there spot on now :D. Love them. Defo better than my 800's :O :D
look really nice deck, i want them! but still theres a lot to be said for a simple computer program like virtual dj when held up against these... scratching is about the main justification for spending the money on these in my opinon.
@Acqua900 You are either a laptop DJ or a Table Top DJ. The type of person that buys 3700's wants control, they want feel, and they want to keep the art form of spinning alive. Being a DJ started with playing records on a turntable. The 3700 is the closest player to date that somewhat duplicates this. Sure u can DJ with a laptop and software; but that does not feel like what being a Dj is about. You can use a 3700 as a software controller; but the post is about Denon vs Pioneer not Denon vs vdj
@hustlekid415 This player was out long before Numark even thought of the v7. It was also out before the current cdj 2000's, the cdj 900's, the cdj 850's, and the cdj 350's. The player was the 1st to have a usb port on that allowed it to read flash drives or hard drives up to 50,000 songs. It also is able to play cd's & mp3 disc. The player just got an update that allows it to control Serato without the time coded disc. Can the v7 play cd's or mp3's. No. Learn about gear on the market.
@DjfrankiB So you have CDJ's? I was looking at buying Pioneer 2000's or the new Denons to replace my old 1000's but I am still undecided. Do you do any scratching? And if so how does the platter feel while scratching? Also do the S3700's still have the "plastic toy" feel that S3500's had? Any info would help, thanks
@themangler666 How do you say the 3500's feel plastic when the platter is metal, with a direct drive motor. The Pioneer deck's have a plastic platter as well as they are very light compared to the Denon 3700 deck's. The 3700's are a superior deck. I would buy the Pioneer deck's if I was into multi formats. As far as for me I don't enjoy my music on multi formats. I hook a portable hard drive up to my 3700's. The 3700 also has keyboard support so you can type the name of the song in to find it.
@Therockstarking14 Since you like lights; I will do a video of one of favorite lights by Chauvet called the Eclipse. I will send you and only you a link, so you can watch the lights go around and around.
@eugene728 I Dj all different types of music. House music and underground are what I primarily spin. Pushing buttons are more of a live remix type of stye. The music I spin does not require me to scratch. Besides their are enough scratch videos out there. You no what happens when a House music Dj bust out scratching on a crowded dance floor. The people stop dancing.
@bongripster07 You should do a video, with all your own equipment and let me see what you can do. I will bet all my equipment you probably don't even have a Hi Def Camera.
dude as much as i love denons thats kinda a waste of money for yoou cuz your not even scraching or nothin your just using effects and endless loop you should of just gottoen some numarks denons are more for scracthing thats what i do.
@jetaction08 Dude it is nothing wrong with scratching. I Dj House and Underground most of the time. I did that video around Christmas 09, that is why I used that Curtis Blow song. I use the deck for live remixing. The crowd's I rock would not like to hear a scratch in the middle of the song.
i happen to own an s3700 and a pioneer, and i tend to agree with you about the playability of the denon vs the pioneer, just seems kinda clunky. doesnt work for me when i need to have a sort of a flow on something like a beat. i find it rather ironic that most of the people talking smack on you and the gear probably arent dj's and dont know how important playability is, especially when the beat controls the crowd, and if you fuck that up, you got nothing.
"And(remove) 3rd(Third) of all(,) please go back to school and take a(n) english(caps) literature course;(no, just no) because your english(caps) is horrible. I can't figure quite(uh...) what you are trying to say."
-DjfrankiB
"I can go buy cdj's(caps) like one of my freinds(friends) after he bought denon(caps) only for him to say between you and me the denon(caps) feels better made."
-DjfrankiB
I refuse to finish working on the second quote. For lack of a better phrase, it's all fucked up.
Pioneer's platters don't even turn round. Their attempt to try copy or emulate vinyls is pathetic, a few LED's to make it look like the platter's turning? For the price, you'd at least think they'd stick a direct drive motor into it. At least the Denons (and Technics DZ1200) are half way there to giving you what a vinyl feels like.
Recently i was given a shot of a pair of Pioneer cdj 400's i found the unit physically light and cheap to the touch, the jog wheel was with out doubt the worst thing i have ever connected with when trying to match a trac reminding me of a poor quality turntable. I have also had a demo of the CDJ 800 mk2 and found that to better but the building quality again cheap, I can't help but be impresssed with the denons no matter how hard i try to like the pioneers!
how does he have fake skills you fucking poser 1 i bet your not a dj so we dont want ur opions bitch and 2 he has skill like a motherfucker i couldnt use cdj like he can i do vinyl.
how does he have fake skills any piece of equipment that makes music and you use it to make good music takes skill i can tell none of you are real djs because as a dj you have to respect the genre of music they play or the equipment they use so everyone get off his dick.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
cdj's are not as good a pioneer 2000 and the music that you play is trash also your fake skills, i don't really understand why did you record this shit....i'll pay you ears an brain surgery
@aperlasca 1st of all; if you don't like the video don't look at it. 2nd of all you probably can't afford cdj's or 3700's. And 3rd of all please go back to school and take a english literature course; because your english is horrible. I can't figure quite what you are trying to say.
@DjfrankiB eherm, "take an english literature course"; "I can't quite figure out"/// also there isn't 3rd of all... its thirdly ;) you should check your own english while you are trying to slam on people... ps this sounds like shit
@CSProds Dude it's You Tube not an English class. The comments people make should make sense. The answer I gave to that person's comment did not make sense. Grow up!!!!!!!
you have some nice equipment bro. how putting up some more videos and demos or training up ,And yes denon equipment is excelent but every person there own unique preferences pioneer cant amke everyone happy just like denon cant make everyone happy but my preference is denon there affordable and have that good high quality PEACE VIVA PUERTO RICO

Denon needs to change the way their buttons are. I don't like the rubber buttons. That is one spot where pioneer definitely excels over Denon.
trmsh098 2 weeks ago
@trmsh098 I hate hard plastic buttons. That's why I buy Denon. Rubber buttons feel like a higher quality. All Denon products have these this type of button.

One thing however that both Denon and Pioneer should have had included is the possibility to ad bigger screens when you using harddrives or usb.
Would have made our work a h3ll of a lot easier and definately would have dropped the the kill on traktor.
Big screens and mediaplayers / mixer = No need of a computer and controllers

Yepp I got the Denon MC 6000 instead of the NI S4, as it turned out that NI has alot more crappiers components in their controller than dENON.
Its a shure bet if you wanna go computer and ride the tunes with a controller.
Cheap, great design and fantastic soundquality!

@DJV4V3 My first pretty decent mixer was a dnx1500 and I thought it was great. I thought it was laid out like shit but once I got around that it was great. Ive tried several of their cd players and cant say a whole lot for em. But then again there are companies like gemini that just fail everywhere
sandmarch7 4 months ago
@DJV4V3 Sadly If the spinning platter ideology where correct Pioneer wouldnt have been the first company recognized by the industry and DJs in the professional circle as being the first company to emulate the feel of vinyl to the satisfaction of more DJs. I noticed most scratch DJs would rather use a serato/traktor type program or stick with real vinyl altogether. Everyones different tho. I started on vinyl and when I went digi the dennons seemed kinda cheap to me so its all opinion in the end
sandmarch7 4 months ago
It's two of these and a Numark X6 mixer OR a Numark Ns7 and a laptop.
:D I've been wanting the Ns7 so bad! But, 2 of these and a mixer is in the same price range as a Ns7 and a Laptop.

Sure, they might be better - but the CDJ's are the industry standard, you pay extra for the layout and smooth transition from bedroom banger to club DJ.
I personally use DNS 1200's and a Xone 92 with Traktor Live, an X1 and I can honestly say that even though I love my setup and prefer the feel of the Denon's, it bites going back and forth from each layout every time I play in a different location!
phaytecollydes 6 months ago
why do ppl love cdj's so much... i love how the 3700 has a spinning platter... isn't that the best emulation of real record media?
jlcool007 8 months ago
@jlcool007 Its a useless feature if it dosent serve a necessary function. I dont know a CD that dosent play without an overhead motorized platter. Its 1 more thing that dosent need to be there that can eventually break. If spinning platters r that important to people they need to get turntables. At least there it serves a needed function other than making insecure cd users feel better about not being on a real turntable. Theres a reason more pros use Pioneer and not Denon. Denons great for noobs
sandmarch7 5 months ago
@sandmarch7 whoa little girl haha. i think the biggest deal is that turntables are so huge to carry around haha. i think you should be laying some of your childish smackdown on NS7 owners lol haha... spinning platters NOT on a turntable must make you REAL sick to your stomach huh?
I also find it funny that you attack my benign post.
anyways, next time, make sure you put your tampon in or just don't post when it's that time of the month,
OK big guy, ill ttyl haha
jlcool007 5 months ago
@jlcool007 Well that obviously hit a nerve with you. What I was saying if you could have read that properly was that a spinning platter has no technical function on a cd player and in fact only serves to preserve the weak minds of people that just cant handle the fact that its not a real turntable. If turning platters are all that matter to you maybe ya aught to just buy a gemini turntable, stay home and stare at it. You did a heck of a job there making no real argument whatsoever :D

For DJing? A laptop is a lot smaller then a Desktop, and you don't need an amazing rig for music editing. A decent sound card, something like a dual core processor, and a chunk of RAM. I would Not want to carry around a desktop computer PLUS my turntables. ^_^

I take it you use the SYNC BUTTON.

selectajay2000 1 year ago 3
@selectajay2000 I started on a pair of old belt drive turntables with a rotary knob pitch on the front that went left to right, When we beat juggled, scratched or spent the record backward fast or forward. You had to put a penny on the tone arm to keep the tone arm on the record. This was back in the early 80's. I can currently still use a turntable and wax quite good. I guess all this technology has made me fat and lazy. Hauling hand made crates with all that wax, I think I have earned it.

@DjfrankiB How does the machine handle? Would you recommend it? Is everything stable or does it give you problems?. Thanks for the video
FiSTFigHT09 1 year ago
@FiSTFigHT09 These players are the best players to date. The platter feel is way ahead of the cdj's or the ns7's or v7's. The cdj has the same old non moving plastic platter that has been on the unit since introduction. The Numark ns7 and v7 need computers and the platter is also a 7inch instaed of a 9 inch like the denon. The old 3500's had a 7 inch platter. The Denon is a stand alone cd/mp3/ usb player or software controller. Their is no player that cost so little that gives you so much.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB no one uses cd's no more! V7 all the way! V7's only cost $400 each now:)
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn The Denon 3700 has 2 usb drive's on the back. The player allows you to use a portable hard drive or thumb drive on usb 1. I am not using a cd. I am using a portable hard drive. The V7 only allows you to use your laptop, that's it; because it has no usb that will play a hard drive or thumb drive. The Denon player also allows you use a laptop on usb 2 just like the Numark. All of that for $699.00 at 123 dj. Do your homework on equipment. Also Denon quality is better than Numark.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB $300 just for 2 extra USB drives on the back? V7 has better platters which i'd rather have over 2 extra usb drives:) I have done my homework! Can get 2 V7's for another $100 over than the Denon's. Anyway most DJ's uses laptops these days when djing! Someone did a comparison with the V7's and the 3700 and the V7 came out on top! I think ur biased cause u own a 3700! V7 ALL DAY EVERY DAY BABY!
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn I don't use a laptop. I don't need to because I use the usb feature on the unit. I am not biased on the 3700. The Numark V7 is not even comparable to me, The V7 is a player that only controls the laptop. It is not a multi format player. The CDJ 2000, CDJ 900, or CDJ 850, would be more of a comparison. The Denon does many things; while the V7 can only play if you have a laptop. The V7 is good; just not as good as the Denon. Muti format means every format except sd card or dvd cd's.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB oh yeah forgot to mention that the fx is better on the V7's too:)
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn You mean the effects that are in the software you use, Last I checked the V7 did not have on board effects. The Denon players always had on board effects. Good luck with that Numark stuff. Whenever you start seeing the price drop; that means they are probably going to discontinue something.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB V7 does have an on board effects it has the NFX that's sold separate from the NS7 built in, plus u can use one v7 to mix so all u need is one V7 and a mixer. V7 and the NS7 are one of their best items so why would the want to discontinue it! Plus it was only released last year lol
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn Oh yeah hope your laptop does'nt crash. If and when it does you can think about if you had 3700's you would be able to switch over from midi, to usb, cd, or mp3 cd; while your computer re boots.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB i've never had that problem about my lap top crashing...when it happens then i'll worry about it:)
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn Everyone's laptop crashes. I own a pc and a macbook. I have Serato', Tracktor Pro, and Virtual Dj 7. None of those programs is free from freezing. The point is you came on my you tube video page talking nonsense. The 3700 plays with a laptop like the V7 or it can play a whole lot more formats the V7 can't even think about playing. You also can use just 1 player, the feature is called "next track". Denon is the real pro at direct drive 9" platter cd, mp3 cd, usb, software controllers.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB One other thing i have used a 1200 before cause my friend owns a pair!
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn Denon was making 7" inch platters like the V7 a long time ago. I think the only thing Numark had was the Axis series table tops. You're probably to young to remember. Denon moved up to a bigger platter; because it feels better. It is closer to the all time great. The 1200 turntable; which you probably never used. Numark can't beat a pro at it's own game. Denon invented this shit son (direct drive players). Numark stole that vinyl ideal from the old Denon 3500's. Keep your copy cats.

jigibao 11 months ago
@DjfrankiB more like Numark started this shit son(direct drive players)! Numark cdx and hdx came out with 12inch motorized platters platters back in 2003. So Numark didn't copy shit! Guess u don't know as much as u thought u did lol
tranjohn 1 year ago
@tranjohn Denon had Dn S3000's and 5000's back then. The difference is they were belt drive instead of direct. Those CDX players were hot garbage lol. Also the NS7 and V7 are good; just not as good as Denon. That probably explains why you are on a Denon youtube page and not a Numark one. I had Numark products before. Back in the day it was only Numark or Gemini. Numark was better. When you compare Numark to Denon; Numark loses. Denon quality is better. And the feature set is one of the best.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@tranjohn V7 is a suitable solution, as well as DNS3700 as it servers to the same purpose; the cuestion is DN-S3700 is capable of work with almost any source you have, while V7 depends upon the laptop only; I think any solution you may select is a nice choice, considering that DNS3700 and V7 shares the same function: to act as controller for some hosts like Traktor, in example. So if you are pleased with V7 is fine, I'll select DN-S3700 and everybody's happy.

Ex. Every sound ever can be scratchd
ollieill1 1 year ago
@selectajay2000 I agree ,but believe it or not cdjs are harder to learn than vinyl so there is no less talent when it comes to mixing . But scratching is probably harder on vinyl . And yes all DJs use loops and samples unless you play only your own original music ! But i see what your saying , I like that things are changing ,and i like technology and the evolution of it . And its damn hard to find a vinyl shop these days that angers me !
Flipjunkie1 1 year ago
@selectajay2000 Nah I don't know. I think it's just changed. When you used to take your time getting the "basics" all down back in the day, nowadays you can use that time to use technology to do some new stuff with music.

The only problem with the mixdeck, is that Numark made it. I had Numark back in the day; because it was better than Gemini. Today their products are better; but the quality does not come close to Denon. Their products never last long.

DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB No offense, but I don't really think this is the next step after the laptop and DJ software, just my opinion.
And while some just use the software to make it easier than it should be, you are making exactly the same in here, which is no bad, in the contrary, we should use what is available to make better things.

But as of now im looking at the NI S4 ;)

DjfrankiB 1 year ago
If i wanted to have the vinyl feel, i would still scratching on my SL1200Mk2
For my cd's and multiformat and midi needs i would prefer CDJ's 2000 they are better for these purposes.Denon's might have way better platter-scratch feeling but on the other features i think Pioneer's cdj series are out-braving.
No offense with Denon-no a pioneer fan-boy S3700 it's a solid cd player.
I like too much your X1700 Mixer far far far better of my DJM-800.
Koursaros4 1 year ago
When I say vinyl feel, it is not all about scratching. The feel of the platter when cueing a track up, when beat juggling, or just releasing it at the break for your blend is just hands down better. Pioneer does have a bunch of formats that can be played on the player, but I prefer all my music on cd, mp3 cd, or usb. The Denon can play all these formats. It is hard enough remembering what music is where without scattering it all over on too many formats.. The Denon MIDI mode is far superior.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
Also compare $1899.00 vs $899.00 with a $100.00 rebate. Denon is a $799.00 player that came out almost 2 years ago that can hang with if not outperform a $1899.00 player that came out almost 1 year ago. That says a lot about Pioneer's ego. Pioneer has a line of fools just waiting to say they got Pioneers. Pioneer is probably designed by want to be Dj's. Denon is probably designed by real working Dj's.

Acqua900 1 year ago
@Acqua900 You are either a laptop DJ or a Table Top DJ. The type of person that buys 3700's wants control, they want feel, and they want to keep the art form of spinning alive. Being a DJ started with playing records on a turntable. The 3700 is the closest player to date that somewhat duplicates this. Sure u can DJ with a laptop and software; but that does not feel like what being a Dj is about. You can use a 3700 as a software controller; but the post is about Denon vs Pioneer not Denon vs vdj

DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB So you have CDJ's? I was looking at buying Pioneer 2000's or the new Denons to replace my old 1000's but I am still undecided. Do you do any scratching? And if so how does the platter feel while scratching? Also do the S3700's still have the "plastic toy" feel that S3500's had? Any info would help, thanks
themangler666 1 year ago
@themangler666 How do you say the 3500's feel plastic when the platter is metal, with a direct drive motor. The Pioneer deck's have a plastic platter as well as they are very light compared to the Denon 3700 deck's. The 3700's are a superior deck. I would buy the Pioneer deck's if I was into multi formats. As far as for me I don't enjoy my music on multi formats. I hook a portable hard drive up to my 3700's. The 3700 also has keyboard support so you can type the name of the song in to find it.

yeah come on if i had that i would be scratching not just pushing buttons. i mean you did scratch but just barely
eugene728 1 year ago
@eugene728 I Dj all different types of music. House music and underground are what I primarily spin. Pushing buttons are more of a live remix type of stye. The music I spin does not require me to scratch. Besides their are enough scratch videos out there. You no what happens when a House music Dj bust out scratching on a crowded dance floor. The people stop dancing.

@bongripster07 You should do a video, with all your own equipment and let me see what you can do. I will bet all my equipment you probably don't even have a Hi Def Camera.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
@DjfrankiB i dont need equipment, because i kno for a fact i could beatbox better then you mske watever it is that ur making.....peace
bongripster07 1 year ago
dude as much as i love denons thats kinda a waste of money for yoou cuz your not even scraching or nothin your just using effects and endless loop you should of just gottoen some numarks denons are more for scracthing thats what i do.
jetaction08 1 year ago
@jetaction08 Dude it is nothing wrong with scratching. I Dj House and Underground most of the time. I did that video around Christmas 09, that is why I used that Curtis Blow song. I use the deck for live remixing. The crowd's I rock would not like to hear a scratch in the middle of the song.
DjfrankiB 1 year ago
i happen to own an s3700 and a pioneer, and i tend to agree with you about the playability of the denon vs the pioneer, just seems kinda clunky. doesnt work for me when i need to have a sort of a flow on something like a beat. i find it rather ironic that most of the people talking smack on you and the gear probably arent dj's and dont know how important playability is, especially when the beat controls the crowd, and if you fuck that up, you got nothing.

DeeJayOsmium 1 year ago
how does he have fake skills any piece of equipment that makes music and you use it to make good music takes skill i can tell none of you are real djs because as a dj you have to respect the genre of music they play or the equipment they use so everyone get off his dick.
DeeJayOsmium 1 year ago
it's all about spinning vinyl! not this. but as far as cdj's go, i like the quazi record look.

cdj's are not as good a pioneer 2000 and the music that you play is trash also your fake skills, i don't really understand why did you record this shit....i'll pay you ears an brain surgery
aperlasca 1 year ago
@aperlasca 1st of all; if you don't like the video don't look at it. 2nd of all you probably can't afford cdj's or 3700's. And 3rd of all please go back to school and take a english literature course; because your english is horrible. I can't figure quite what you are trying to say.
