The word in the description should be quiet, not "quite". Sorry i am a spelling Nazi. I know suppressors are legal in North Carolina but word is that it can be quite difficult to get a CLEO to sign the paperwork. I have the same mosquito on the way w/ intentions of getting a suppressor for it

@captainbackflash Yeah, they are classified as Class III, Auto. They are legal in TN, but only if purchased through a licensed FFL and you must also pay a tax to the ATF. Warning, though, the tax is often pretty high, but worth it since you can often re-sell the gun if you like for the same price you bought it for, only losing the tax, really. Unless, of course, you know a gunsmith that can make a Class III firearm. Then, you but the gun, pay for the mod, and then the transfer tax. Cheaper.

@captainbackflash An FFL is a Federal Firearms License, and you must find a dealer that has one, but there are plenty of these, especially around Nashville. And the taxes are mainly a one-time registry tax that MUST be filed for a Class III firearm. For information on Class III, go to tn.gov, and search for firearms or Class III and you will get plenty of information.

The suppressor gives the gas an area to expand which stops the noise attributed to the case, where as using subsonic(some refer to this as 'standard velocity') ammunition, the bullet does not reach a sufficient speed to break the sound barrier, which means it makes barely any noise.

Yes, exactly the same. Form 4 prints, photo, CLEO signoff and wait about 4 months. The good news is suppressors are cheap when you price machine guns... JP

You pay a one time $200.00 tax to ATFE for the transfer tax stamp.

DEA has nothing to do with it. You don't sign anything but a Form 4 stating you have no criminal record and the CLEO (sheriff) signs below your signature on the back of the form.

All your are doing is buying an expensive stamp in order to legally own some pretty cool and collectible firearms.

Everything really cool up here in Washington state (not DC) is illegal... Full auto sub guns, silencers, full auto rifles, m203s. Everything except semi auto and bolt action rifles and pistols. But the weirdest thing of all, is that we can own all of that stuff I mentioned, but we cant shoot it here legally. There selling M203 grenade launchers and silencers at my local gun shop. but we cant use them, how fucked up is that?

We must have an allowance document to buy, curry,and shoot a gun(one for sport, one for hunting, one for self defence (wich is give to only private guards, jewlery shopetc..) After u buy u must go yourself to say to the police what gun do u have. U must say the number of bullets u have.

To have this allowance: go to ur family doctor: one certificate, with this, go to military doctor, he makes another one, after that, u must go to shooting range, it gives u a certificate that u can use long and short guns (pistols and rifles), with that u go to the police.

We have a lot of shooting range that don't allow u to charging more than 5 rounds in ur pistol

In the past,we must have from police an allowance that say the shortest way to go to the shooting range. If u dont follow, risk is to loose ur allowance to shoot

@Mopar68Sharpshooter I never really understand why people want fully automatic weapons. They serve a purpose in the military but even in the army I've only ever met a few people who could use the squad machine gun effectively.

It's since changed but before we adopted the AUG Steyr as the soldiers primary weapon in Australia, we used a version of the FN FAL which was changed to only fire a single shots....the theory being that all but the best soldiers will go off target in automatic.
