I have to say, the Hitchcock compound looks different today. As I was growing up in Scotts Valley "on Burlwood", I had the opportunity to visit the Estate several times. From what I remember, the ceilings were low, to compensate for Hitchcock's short stature. I would see Alfred quite often at the old Camp Evers store. His car at the time was a Black Rolls, and yes I rode in it once. I was in the Boy Scout Explorers program, he invited my troop to his estate.
but this WASN'T the first event if it occurred on the date this was posted... we were there labor day weekend....
