Everyone does have the right to choose their own beliefs. Matthew and John were 2 of the 12 Apostles, and they wrote 2 of the 4 Gospels, not to mention John also wrote Revelation. The book of James was written by the brother of Jesus, as well. I'm sure you've found out that we aren't so much about proof, but faith. We believe in Christ Jesus, the Redeemer of man who gave his life that we might have life eternal. Is it so wrong to teach our kids of such love and sacrifice?

Oh yes, one doesn't have the right to choose his/her religion e.g. in islamic countries, and in many part of christianity there's a very heavy social pressure not to change your religion. My friend is forced to stay as a member of a mormon church, because her whole family would simply abandon her if she left the religious community.

I would completely agree that that the conduct of your Mormon friend's family is wrong. I don't believe in that, nor do I believe that Mormons share anywhere near the beliefs that a born-again Christian does. I cannot speak for the Muslims, as I don't know enough about them, but in the United States, there are millions that have beliefs other than Christian, and are free to do so by the 1st Amendment in the Constitution. There's social pressure to do a lot of things, but I didn't face any.
