  • LOOOVE IT!! *-*

  • 4 people never left boston, and didint get to see the spanish women.

  • One of the best movies of all time! Una de las mejores peliculas de todo tiempo!!!

  • great movie

  • quint is a loose portrayal of the legend frank mundus, possibly the greatest trophy fisherman of his era

  • Recently rewatched Jaws, which used to be one of my favorites. I still like it, but it's not as good as I remembered it being. But god help me, for all the flaws, Quint is easily one of my favorite movie characters of all time.

  • DAMN IT WHY DID QUINT HAVE TO DIE! WHY NOT BRODY! THAT WAY WE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN THOSE CRAPPY SEQUELS THAT NEVER LIVED UP THE ORIGINAL. no I am not trying be a troll.

  • A song he must have learned from Captain Dan Tempest and the rest of the New Providence buccaneers!

  • god bless quint. i love this guy

  • HES TO SWIMMIN WITH BOWL LEGGED WOMEN!

  • any one know where i could get the guitar cords ect for this song, its an old english navy tune ?

  • Greatest comedy ever!

  • LMFAO this is awsome thanx man love this movie

  • he just got done telling him going into a shark cage made no sense

  • Richard Dryfuss looks very, very gay in this vid.

  • @mbrk6827 that's the 70s for ya. Alot of people looked gay back then. Back then being gay wasn't as full blown as it is now. It wasn't until the 80s when AIDS started to pop in when being Gay caught alot of flak. You could actually hug another man and not be seen as gay back then. You could look a man dead in the eyes and not be gay. You look a man in the face and smile and not be gay. that all changed by the late 80s.

  • Farewell and adieu to you fair, Spanish Ladies,

    Farewell and adieu to you, ladies of Spain;

For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston,

And so never more shall we see you again.

  • can someone plzzzzz tell me where i can get the lyrics? thnxx<3

  • robert shaw is funny as fuck.

  • @rapideye89

Did you know that Robert Shaw is the evil Red Grant in "From Russia With Love" (the one who has a classic fight with Sean Connery on the train)?

  • what i love about this little sea chanty is the way John Williams has fun with it at Quints expense later in the film. When the three are dead in the water and out of options and Quint goes to see how badly flooded they are. Williams very cheekily does "farewell and adieu" as Quint stares at all the watered life jackets. Much to say.. "Bye bye now!!" Brilliant!! There are movies, then there is Jaws.

  • uhhhh

  • there used to be a hit on "farewell and adieu" on U-tube and that vid showed a guy going on a fishingtrip and doing the farewellsong....now it's gone....anyone got a mirror?

  • Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women

  • HAHAH! THAT'S THE BEST LAUGHTER I HAVE HEARD IN A LONG TIME!! xD

  • a classic scene , brought to life by quint.

the original song though were actually different :

Farewell and adieu to you, Spanish Ladies,

    Farewell and adieu to you, ladies of Spain;

For we've received orders for to sail for old England,

But we hope in a short time to see you again.

but it was ' americanized ' for the film.

  • Thank you doucheking, for always being there to point out things that are of dubious validity.

    Douche on!

  • what are you insulting me for ? i only stated a fact . fucking useless shit head yank.

  • cunt

  • Americanized for the film, or simply a traditional American variation on a very old song?

  • i heard it was americanized for the film. i know the original british sea chanty song differed slightly from this on screen version.

  • @captainbadd A very old BRITISH song. No, it was Americanized.

  • @captainbadd

    That's more likely, I reckon

After all - any cute Mexican would fit the description of a "fair Spanish lady".

Good songs will always get adapted.

Even "God Save the Queen" got new words and turned into a patriotic American song.

  • @cujo9 Not only for the film - there are about 15 or 20 variations of this song

  • My favorite movie of all time......can you believe this film is almost 35 years old now?

  • I know, it's nuts, right? My favorite as well!

  • you can download a converter from youtube to ipod, where some programs will let you do the video and audio, where others just lets you do the audio. The program i am using right now is called ImTOO. hope that helps you out!

  • classic movie with many line's quoted to this day, much like airplane....we had a football player  in our class who was huge,and when ever we seen him we use to say.."20footer--25 3 ton's of him" hilarious if you seen him,he never thought it was funny mind{lol}

    "surely you cant be serious"

"I am and dont call me shirley"

  • To think Peter Benchley's first three choices to play the lead characters were:

Paul Newman (Brody); Steve McQueen (Quint) Robert Redford (Hooper). Spielberg's 3 choices: Charlton Heston (Brody) Sterling Hayden or Lee Marvin (Quint) Jeff Bridges (Hooper) I'm glad none of them were chosen, because you can't create the chemistry that Scheider/Shaw/Dreyfuss had on JAWS.

  • I like the 3 actors they used it wouldn`t have been the same if played by anyone else !!!

  • you are right babe, the 3 scheider, shaw, dreyfuss, were utter class and jaws would not be the same with out them.

  • Right uberglocken

Saw it 8 times when it first came out in the 70`s now my kids have it on DVD (clasic box office smash hit!)always will be a highly rated great movie through all generations!!

  • imaStonesGirl your not wrong !!! i was born a year after the film was made and must have watched it un-told times and still love it today, talk about generations i tell you what ? you proper spoil your kids ! jaws is legendary !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love how the camera lingers on Hooper's face, so we see his response to Quint. It's humor that comes from CHARACTER, which Spielberg was good at portraying earlier in his career.

  • Cage goes in the water, you go in the water, sharks in the water, our shark!

Farewell and adu...You know the rest!

  • Farewell and adieu to you fair spanish ladies.

Farewell and adieu you ladies of Spain.

For we've received orders for the sail back to Boston...

...and so nevermore shall we see you again...

  • Quint: Cage goes in the water? How is that going to work? The cage is empty.

Hooper: I'll be in the cage.

Quint: Cage goes in the water. You get in the cage. When it's in the water? How does that happen?

Hooper: No. I get in the cage on the boat.

Quint: Cage is on the boat? You think we're going to lure the shark onto the boat?

Hooper: No! I go in the cage! Cage goes in the water!

  • Hooper: No! I go in the cage! Cage goes in the water!

Quint: But the shark's on the boat! Why are you in the water?

Hooper: The shark will be in the water! With the cage!

Quint: Hooper, how the hell do you think we're going to fit that shark into the cage?

Hooper: I'll be in the cage!

Quint: Exactly! With you in the cage, there'll be no room for the shark, will there, College boy? Figure that one out on yer own, did ya?

  • I cant believe Robert Shaw wasnt there first pick for Quint.....Talk about dogging a bullet

  • Legend! I cannot possibly imagine anyone else playing Quint half as well as Robert Shaw.

  • royal academy of dramatic arts... him, hopkins, caine, connery, moore, etc. etc. top actors they could play anything simply best of the bests

  • @oberstblitz Robert Shaw

  • This movie was cast perfectly. Such a classic. My entire family and I quote the movie all the time because we've all seen it so many times.

  • @ndpitch

    This film should be rubbish!

It has a rubber shark that terrorises a town!

But - a superb cast, iconic music (every time someone hears even one repeat of two low notes a semitone apart - THAT'S JAWS)

    Classic.

  • He was absolutely PERFECT for this part. He will always be missed.

See him in the "Battle Of Britain". excellent there too.

  • one of my favorite parts.

  • god bless you robert you were a brilliant actor .r.i.p.i will always love the part you played in jaws.great memories.

  • Robert Shaw is just awesome in this movie. Jaws is crazy. It's awesome.....it's crazy awesome. God damn Jaws! WHooooooo!!!!

  • Love it!

  • Farewell and adieu.

  • Farewell an' adieu to you fair Spanish ladies,

Farewell an' adieu to you ladies of Spain,

For we've received orders for to sail for old England,

An' hope very shortly to see you again.

  • thats the original not Quint's

  • I see you're one of those observant types.

  • actually the original diddy was 'for to sail back to Blighty', slang for Britain.

  • Great actor from Wigan !

  • Grande!!!!! Muchas gracias por tener esto video... :)

  • Qué bueno
