If you saw in the test, the FPS dropped to 19 at one stage ... blahh if I had 4 video cards id expect above 100 non-stop lol cause that's easy 2k in video cards only not to mention the PSU you gotta have to run that shit. 1. count 1-19 and see how long that takes you, 19 frames in a second is fast, there are much more disered features (higher resolution and extra detail), and like you said that was a one off 'drop down'.

2. lots of people use watercooling now and there would be a big gap between gpus not that it would be needed

Two 5870x2's are better than this. They only cost 1200 bucks for two of them and only take 4 pci express wires and only take up 4 expansion slots on the back of the computer leaving room for a sound card and you get direct x 11 support with only one power supply to run it.

4 way sli is pointless.

when u install 2 way sli than the speed in PCI E is split into 8X which gives u twice the performance.

3 way sli splits into 4X and 8X which gives 2.6X peformance of cards

And 4 way sli splits all the cards into 4X which gives u only 2.85X peroformance of all four cards.

All cards will only use their full feature when PCI-E solts on motherboard increase to 32X plus

Nvidia won't even be able to use DX 11 until 2nd quarter next year. Nvidia seems to be heading more towards GPGPU and CUDA than worrying about DX 11. You can't deny that the 5870 rolls the GTX 285.
