  • looks like it came from mccabes plans from technical school ...google "simple engines" to see exactly what i am refering to..looks almost identical..

  • no closeups. bad video.

  • Nice engine. What did you use for the flywheel?

  • It's spelled Stirling, futurecam.

  • @steamapprentice what piston is that

  • @steamapprentice what piston is that

  • Wow! now this is engineering at it's backyard best!

  • MORE POWER SCOTTIE!!!!!!!!!!

  • my bad error in horse power,

Horsepower (HP) is the name of several units of measurement of power. The most common definitions equal between 735.5 and 750 watts.[1] Horsepower was originally defined to compare the output of steam engines with the power of draft horses. The unit was widely adopted to measure the output of piston engines, turbines, electric motors, and other machinery. The definition of the unit varied between geographical regions. EU Directive 80/181/EEC.

  • RPM Rotations per minute, HP = 765KW, one measures speed the other is power.

Power determans how much work you can get out of it speed is just a value o movement in time, speed is not synonomous of energy it gives no idiea how much work or enegy out of a system, so it is better if that values where in power so that we know what we can get out of it, in other energies such as heat, Cinetics, Potencial, and electric.

  • @sergio1020881 No, 1 HP = 746 W

  • See an engine built with scraps. Look on Youtube the sentence: Motor à combustão caseiro - homemade combustion engine

  • Good job, ignore the knockers, learn from your experience, and do well.

  • @whorayful Agreed

  • Nice machine

  • Very impressive

  • ok, I don't understand this, you make a "steam engine" and use compressed air in it for testing, then just drop it, no one even attempts to make a makeshift boiler and actually run it as a steam engine, until you run steam through it, you can not call it a steam engine, since it has never run on steam, this is a compressed air engine until proven otherwise.

also, if you ever ran it on steam, you've never shown it.

  • been looking at steam engine video's all day and this one is so simple yet it's still my fav.

Simple things tend to last longer and work better. I'm getting ideas for a steam generator and definitely got some good ones from this nifty simple machine.

    Thanks for sharing!!!

  • didi u use a lathe on the piston?

  • Nice work mate.

    Well done.

  • nice engine so nice job mate!

  • Cool!

  • is a good steam engine to are the 1st

  • never mind all of the new wave derogitory comments at least you got up and had a go ,and it inspires others to have a go ,and thats what counts ,me i like it:

  • looks like a super fast robot jacking off...jk nice.

  • Very well made, very silent too regarding the material you made this from.

  • All that with scrap materials? That is unbelievable! Great job. I think someone needs to get you a metal lathe and drill press quick. You have a natural talent.

  • that is very nice should of made yourself some sort of a vehicle that u can take rides in make sure you can turn the insanely fast spinning wheels in the direction you're heading, why buy a car

  • Sounds like Zetor lol =DD

  • how do u make 1 please someone tell me. but it has to be out of scrap

  • just look up anyplace "how a steam engine works", then find some scraps and see what fits together.. Most likely you'll need some tools. Be inventive!

  • awesomeness! I'd buy one! :D

  • put that thing in a little model boat with a propeller, i bet it would hall ass across a pond

  • If he's lucky he'd have about a 5% efficency,,,,probably have to power it with a nuke reactor to get enough steam to make it work,,,,,,! =)

  • nice work

  • that thing kinda scares me at high RPMs, lol

  • Uh, you drill a holl from the side the the top. It's not that hard. You just have to keep it aligned. Geez. Where the FUCK did you common sense go?

  • Good Work Boy... The good idea is behind the valve design isn't it? the intake hole should be straight hole and the out let hole should be "L" drilled hole

  • I had the idea to convert a .21 buggy enegine to this principle.

  • Pretty nifty, well done.

  • Steam engines can work off of comprest air.

  • How do you?, How do you? , How do You? First of all YOU people need an education. He did good. very entertaining and resourceful.

    good Job dude.

  • how did u make this?

  • have u used steam to power it yet?

  • did u have to do any drilling, if so, where?

  • You have to drill a hole for the slide valve and intake

  • how many RPM ??

  • Why do people ask about RPM rather than HP? RPM is more a measure of how balanced and frictionless the device is made, but if there's no power behind it (like most sterling engines), then it's just pointless.

  • well thats the point, something so small isnt meant to power anything, but rather how fast can it go! its sweet to hear a mini v8 hit 1000 because its so damn small. its REALLY hard to machine this stuff

  • @futurecam RPM is revolutions per minet on the fly wheel you fucking noob

  • @MrMillzy991

Check the posted date, I'm pretty sure someone's already spelt that out.

Plus, I'm pretty sure he knows what RPM means. You do know what HP means right?

Personally I'd just got for torque.

  • @Zappyguy111 yes i know what horse power means im just saying rpm is not in any way a measure of how powerfull something is just correcting sorry to be a nazi :)

  • @Zappyguy111 horse power for da idiots dat dont

  • @futurecam actually it's a myth that most stirling engines have little to no potential powere output, just the art ones.

  • hahah cool... i wish i had the mechanical know-how to do that

  • I like it! Its really good for a first engine and for being made out of scrap. I wish I would have gone a little more simple for my first engine!

  • how did you make the valve?

  • wat do u use for a valve and howed u do it

  • what`s it`s name?

  • Awesome. Great job, especially considering the materials at hand!

  • Hi I'm putting the same engine for you as you ask echo system valvulas porfavor hear your response. thanks

  • that is great! shows off that with a pressure input (steam, ignited gas..) you can make a work machine. Kudos to the creator of this gem.

  • very cool. i know this is mostly from scraps but how much would you say this cost if i were to build it myself?

  • nice work, do you have the how to build it, that would be nice.

    thanks

  • nice!

  • Hello Friends.

any one can tell me about it. how is that work.

i also want to mad one :)

  • Nice and simple i like it!!

  • Anyone can buy a steam engine but it takes a talent that I admire to build one.

  • if you read the text at the start of the video it explains the engine is running on compressed air, but can also be run on steam.

  • @dave1234u

I have a definate use for this engine.. perhaps we could work together on a project. What is the pressure and volume of steam required>
