I went through security coming back from Afghanistan. I understand they wouldn't allow my lighter, scissors, nail clippers or the usual. According 2 SGT England, he fumbled through his pockets. The cop tried to arrest and then the SGT backed away. Backing away is resisting arrest, he was given the change to surrender, but he did not.

The law says that failure to comply with lawful arrest is a crime even when said arrest is not justified, that's why the SGT spent a day in jail for what he did.

When a cop asks you for your boarding pass it's a lawful order and the failure to do so is called trespassing, failure to resist lawful arrest gives the cops the right to hit you till you stop resisting.

I'm a 23 year veteran with the Navy Seabees and I did 3 tours in Veitnam and was called back to Active duty for Desert Shield and Desert Storm. When I came back home and walked off of the plane,gone!I got SPIT on by a group of the "younger generation"! The little cocksuckers don"t know where their freedom comes from!! Las Vegas is a high crime area and an in open carry state and that's why the Las Vegas police officers tend to shoot from the hip more than other police do.
In this situation the police officer tried to force the SGT's hand behind his back but wasn't strong enough, had the SGT not failed to resist arrest, he wouldn't have been tazed.

@14brandon88 I "claim" to be an MP, because I am a 31b (Army MP) qualified member of a Military Police company in the Nevada National Guard; which does give me some insight on use of force policies (especially in the state of Nevada where the cops are given PLENTY of leeway)
The law says that failure to comply with lawful arrest is a crime even when said arrest is not justified, that's why the SGT spent a day in jail for what he did.

When a cop asks you for your boarding pass it's a lawful order and the failure to do so is called trespassing, failure to resist lawful arrest gives the cops the right to hit you till you stop resisting.

As a Army war Veteran and as an American I can say it is always the few whose actions reflect so poorly on the outlook of the many. As a soldier he did the right thing, if there is no further guidance or understanding seek the answer. The officers involved should have used better judgment and a different approach to the situation. Instead they chose to show their control of the situation and made themselves look bad. Sadly enough they got treated better for it.

I am a vet who has been beaten and arrested for the dumbest shit. I.E. Obstruction of a Highway. Don't even know what that is. I was beaten, pepper sprayed and put in the back of a cop car. I still don't know what I did. I was sitting on a wall next to a sidewalk. Talking with a friend.
