  • Thumbs up if you're listening this in 2050. I'm from the future typing with my microwave. Hail megadeth \\m//

  • a real fan of Megadeth, or even Rock-Metal, would enjoy Risk/Cryptic Writings/Youthanasia as equal to Risk/Peace Sells/SFSGSWhat?... i even prefer Youthanasia and Risk over all Megadeth albums, and over all Metal albums around there

  • what is the difference between this and the alternate version?

  • nice riffs

  • easily the best outro ever..

  • Comment removed

  • plus, if your listening to someone they probably already sold out. in fact they probably sold out years before your virgin ears ever heard them.

  • This song is a masterpiece.

  • Like if you are the 204048

  • @Alenmega1 Im not 204048, sorry, im not liking it

  • I'm in that awesome part of youtube again!

  • @JunkMoonsnBoxes congrats!

  • To be honest so what if Megadeth did sell out, so did Metallica the year before with the Black Album which was a HUGE success! & besides Countdown To Extinction is such a great album, love every song on it! So please MegaPOSERS fuck off!

  • Que chimba de cancion

  • @Megaelegy1 Muy cierto.

  • Interesting fact: Dave wrote this song during the production of Youthenasia, for some reason it ending up on this album

  • Best song on this album along with FFF, She-Wolf and Disintegrators.

  • @GoJays09 This are my 4 best songs here too:) Just love the ending of Vortex.

  • @GoJays09 and secret place

  • live version, Mustaine please

  • BESTIAL!!!.

  • Sounds very similar to Never Walk Alone, A Call To arms.

  • @SouthOfHeaven97 Yeah I caught that too. Tears in a Vial and Public Enemy Number 1 have similar intros too.

  • Megadeth and Iron maiden are the best... I probably like Metallica too if they change the singer but that cant happen...

  • @tjhavok I GIVE YOU ALL RIGHT!! BUR REMEMBER, SLAYER AND ANTHRAX ARE ALSO VERY GOOD BANDS!!

  • @Traydiamante Anthrax got some good songs but not any great. Slayer is great on stage. Good live band. I got all of their cd´s and i try to listen to them but its hard sometimes... vocals are "soft" to me :D Im more in death and black metal but i like of course Megadeth, Iron maiden, Wasp and all this kind of stuf.

  • @Traydiamante ok songs are great but im not sure about vocalists. Raining blood is great album.

  • @tjhavok Shhht apprentice ! Mustaine is a Master, and the Slayer album is call Reign in blood

  • @Hellmental85 yes... true.i always confuse the name of album and the song :D thats cos im not a great fan...

  • @tjhavok I dont get that, hetfields vocals are much better than mustaine. Hell the reason it took me so long to get into megadeth was mustaines vocals, they have to grown on u! but once you get used to them, its all good.

  • @AltEddieJ1984 maybe so but in my opinion hetfiels is boring... i want more anger in his voice... but its their band and they do what they want of course :D Mustaines vocals are strange and maybe thats why i like them more. I cant hear anything special in hetfields voice.

  • if u combine the longer version of this song and the mix song furture bass side A by R.A.W it sounds fucken badass u have to put 4 seconds on this song and 6:23 seconds on the other one but u have to play those at the same time and just listen til it ends

  • @TheSiege703 that sounds fuckin awesome

  • Marty Friedman orgasmic solo!!

  • :D!

  • Selling uot or not isn't the problem. If you only like a band because they didn't "sell out" then you aren't a real fan.

  • @OpenCasket19

Well actually if you talk to some of the metalheads of the 80's theyd tell you otherwise, fuck off loser you have the capacity of a 12 year old in a special needs class, learn what metal actually is before you tell someone theyre not a real fan

  • @999storm999

I think you're misinformed, or read my comment wrong. If not, you're a fucking moron.

  • @OpenCasket19

It goes back to the days when you actually needed to be a fucking badass to listen to rock or metal. Real bands don't need to sell out, a sellout might as well not exist in terms of "true fans", sure you can always go back and enjoy the old "glory days" of that band, but in your heart you will always know they abandoned music for money

  • @999storm999

If you want a "sell out' band, go talk about KISS. THAT is what selling out is.

  • @OpenCasket19 Your absolutely right Selling out is only some peoples opinion of music changing but those people don't take into consideration that everybody changes and everybody grows older with time as well as there opinions on life and ultimately this change the way music is written

  • @OpenCasket19 Not necessarily. When a band sells out, they try to onlt appeal to the consumer, instead of just making music because it sounds good. If Megadeth were to sell out, I probably wouldn't like 'em anymore, and Megadeth's one of my favorite bands. When a metal band changes their style to appeal to the general population (people who don't listen to metal) then that band quits being metal, and starts being gay. Like Metallica did.

  • @jakehellspawn

    Guitar hero 4.

  • @OpenCasket19

TBH when Megadeth sold out, their sound went with that, so you can shut the fuck up, I grew up on Megadeth and the past few albums have been disappointing to say the least

  • @999storm999

I recommend re-listening to them then. Th1rt3en is really good especially. RISK wasn't a very Megadethly album, but after that, Dave has been getting the sound back, and with the last 4 albums it just keeps getting better and better. We will never relive the glory albums that are Killing is my business through Youthanasia, but the new stuff is really fucking good as it is.

  • @OpenCasket19 they did sell out tho listen to risk.

  • @fuckyshityfuckshit

    Wasn't a sell out.

If you want a sell out go listen to KISS, they're sell outs.

  • @fuckyshityfuckshit in fact RIP sold more tha risk, that makes RIP a very "comercial" album, either Risk was a very good rock album, along with Cryptic Writings

  • @OpenCasket19 Lol, I first though you wanted to say "Selling pot or not isn't the problem"

Of course it isn't, Dave knows that too.

  • to be completely honest this shit is making my head hurt

  • @valdivia562 your head is shit

  • @valdivia562

Daves epic songwriting is hard to take in. I understand.

  • In my point of view, most bands that want to last a long time need to sell out at least a little some ay or another,it's how they last. Metallica and Megadeth did both and that helped them last. You sell out, appeal to the younger generation, because when music and times change you cant reply on a bunch of 30-40 year old metalheads to keep you going through the years. They sold out.both. Metallica a little more than Megadeth, and made their comeback with a album that's more like their original sound

  • @GasMaskNaziZombie Iron Maiden never sold out and they are as big now as they where 20-30 years ago, if not even bigger. that's why they're the best band on earth

  • I will always have respect for a true metal band that stayed loyal to the metal gods and to their fans with talent, genius, and heart. EVERY band should take notes to what makes metal an art.

  • sounds like my new nickname

  • god dam this songs badass

  • Vozi ga batice!

  • Megadeth and metallica just have other style just stop argueing about it and enjoy the music

  • this sounds similar to Never walk alone a call to arms. both songs kick major ass. Dave's style is incomparable. He's the best PERIOD

  • Metallica was only good at the 80's, they started to suck at 90's and now they are a total failure.

Megadeth is still good after all these 27 years.

  • @iancrz22 bullshit mettallicas amazing

  • @iancrz22 they are both awesome ! but I like Megadeth more

  • @iancrz22 you're right. metallica became fucking pussies after the black album. it isn't thrash anymore. megadeth and slayer are staying thrash even when they're like 40 or 50

  • @steven2405 Id say the real downfall was after they cut the symphonic album Load n Reload are great albums in their own right. But ST Anger i think is still leveling my bookshelf or sumthing. IT was barely good enough for that. They should have kept that to themselves POOR Kirk what a waste of true talent

  • @steven2405 Doesn't matter if its thrash or not, it still sounds good (listen to this song). Slayer has just become uncreative and all too repetive. Megadeth kicks major ass (Public Enemy No.1 is the best song they've written since Countdown). Metallica changed style, Magnetic kinda goes back to the roots though. However, the ones who keeps it real thrash is Anthrax, they're not boring to listen to at all and just kick ass overall, listen to Fight 'em till you cant.

  • Megadeth sold out?....Bull shit you Metalica cock suckers

  • @theguy782 if u consider the black abum selling out then megadeth did. dave wanted more commercial sucess so they changed with theiir last few albums in the 90's. thats what metallica did. if u consider that selling out, then they did. if u dont then neither band did. to say megadeth never did but metallica did is just ignorant

  • @liveandletrock864 Metallica didnt "sell out" with the black album. it wasnt thrash at all by means of any stretch but it heavy metal. Metallica sold out with Load and made it worse with Reload and then st.anger. Death magnetic is metallicas the world needs a hero in a sense that its kinda half heavy metal half thrash metal. Megadeth got softer on youthanasia but it wasnt until really risk that shit got fucked up. i just hate how whenever i explain why i dont like metallica they say megadethsuck

  • yeah. orgazm.

  • the intro sounds like never walk alone... a call to arms

  • @MrRockitman666 A mix of that and Tornado of Souls mate

  • I wish there were lessons somewhere for this because i'm having difficulties with the second time the first riff is played.

  • Bear with as I state the obvious...Megadeth is so much better than Metallica.

  • @faithtwelve Out of The Big 4 i like Slayer and Megadeth the best.

  • @WanaPlayDrums98 Haha NO! Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax is the best of the big four!

  • @faithtwelve lol you just have to recite it in your head now and again when listening to mustaine's brutal riffs and catchy vocals! i rarely say it out loud nor write it on the internet though lol as you say, a bit obvious ;) thumbs anyway though man haha

  • @faithtwelve

yeah, Megadeth is much better these days. But Metallica WAS better in 80's and 90's.

Then after Black Album they changed, an Megadeth became much more better than Metallica. But I have always loved Megadeth

  • @jippe2223

Tallica was better in the 90s you say? lol no.

88 was the last year they produced a semi-decent record, sorry.

  • This song is fun as shit to play.

  • @CameronWasmund This album is all fun as shit to play.

  • @CameronWasmund Play this riff with a really heavy dostortion it's kind of orgasmic :D

  • the jewels of the crown

  • The bass sounds very Iron Maidenish imo, does anybody else think likewise?

  • @guitarshredder951 No, I don't.

  • 10 people are stuck in a vortex

  • 0:00 to 0:28 -I love this song=never walk alone...a call to the arms

  • Lol, at firstot sounded like a mix between crazy train and master of puppets.

  • its like never walk alone

  • @mariomendia I think that it was said many many times and everyone knows it -.-

  • First version of this album is way better.

I'll never understand why Mustaine did this remastered shit.

  • @ozzyzyggy every band made some kind of remastered shit, to let it have a modern twist on it or something like that.

I agree btw, first version is better

  • he should of never did remasted versions of his old albums i hate to say it but his voice is gone

  • i cant seem to find the name of a megadeth, one that starts off with an acoustic intro. any help?

  • @TheSpanks000 a tout le monde? captive honour? foreclosure of a dream?

  • @TheSpanks000 In My darkest Hour?

  • @TheSpanks000 Sleepwalker?

  • @TheSpanks000 no guys thanks! it was diadems

  • @TheSpanks000 Into the lungs of hell? In my darkest hour? Good Mourning/Black Friday? The hardest part of letting go?

  • cool song, the intro reminds me a little bit of tornado of souls and never walk alone... a call to arms

  • Glad i got the original, he really butchered his voice on this one :/

  • @thepezdispenser this is the original dumbass. just has effects

  • @megapurify

    And the effects butchered it

  • BAD ASS X10 !!

  • amazing song!!!!! \m/

  • i think its the solo idk :D lol

  • I LIke the last guitar thingy noise :/ it brings me inner peace :) sorry im musically illiterate :D

  • was never walk alone like a remake of this? they sound very alike

  • @rampage222555 by who?

  • @imakazero by megadeth lol look in the sidebar

  • @rampage222555 ha, sorry man i was fucken stoned out of my mind yesterday

  • As much as I love Megadeth (and I do, believe me) the outro sounds a bit like the riff on Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused, which is not a bad thing cause that riff rocks \m/

  • love the album top to bottom - this song has always resonated with me. love the guitar work from 2:10 onward, what an outro!

  • this one has always resonated with me - the guitar work as they outro just blows me away

  • Man, I haven't heard this song in years! Thanks for uploading!!

  • 1st time I av heard dis song , an dis is very good!

  • @pancakesareyumm wow it took me 3:23 minutes, just read your's

  • I've heard this song before but never realized how badass it was.. I think it's somewhere in my top 20 Megadeth songs now.

  • never got the end its random, the jewels of a crown like random.... still epic song!

  • new favorite song of mine.

  • Megadeth and Dave is just an amazing musician. Great great song.

  • sounds even better on remastered

  • @Megadeth72 they ruined their albums by remastering them. Fake drums...come on

  • @Megadeth72 Noup :(

  • who in thier right mind clicks on the dislike button for music like this? i wish there was a love button for it! :-)

  • Just gotta dig that riff!

  • @Murdilizer i am 13 and it seems like i am the only kid in my school that likes music like this i probably am

  • dark N tasty!! 3:07 to the end

  • "Great Scott Marty! The only things in the world that can create 1.21 gigawatts of power are bolts of lightning and ]\/[egadet]-[

  • remastered, yuck.

  • Holy fuck i love 0:06 - 0:25 which then plays few times during the song, GO MARTY! :D

  • Hmm, very similar main riff to 'Never Walk Alone' off of UA. Not too bad...should give this album a chance, really.

  • @Mirthomaniac ya thats wat i thought it sounded like..but theres always those little differences

  • one of my fav songs!!!!!! :D

  • is it just me or does vortex kind of sound like a continuation of tornado of souls. Also the lyrics in the song say vortex of pain. Tornado of souls-Vortex of pain

  • @fattyface79 great analogy!!!! :D

  • @fattyface79

Yeah it's in the same key and uses pretty much the same notes. Never thought of it as a continuation but now that you say it it does sound kinda like it.

  • @fattyface79 I've always known they sound very similar, but never thought to actually look into the lyrics.. youre probably right though

  • underrated song !

  • sounds like Never walk alone...call to arms

  • @Thresholog yes, B tonic

  • I can't figure out who plays the solo for this song. Is it dave or marty?

  • Intro riff is somewhat like "Never walk alone...A call to arms." 's main riff.

  • hammett and hetfield cant play this

  • @ShreDeth6 Why the hell do you have to hate on Metallica? thats where dave started. People listen to both bands. get over it. and they could SO play this.

  • @slaytallidetherafold I dont hate Metallica!!! I admit that Metallica is one of the biggest metal influences. I just said that they haven't powerful riff like this. don't get mad dude, if you prefer to Metallica I respect this

  • @ShreDeth6 Lol. its all cool. Im just kinda tired of people saying they cant play stuff and that megadeth is better. Metallica has some powerful riffs though. i like both bands. though. sorry if you felt like u were being attacked. lol

  • one of the best off this album

  • This is one of the best megadeth songs ever, so fuckin fun to play on guitar, marty friedman is the man!

  • The lil intro is extremely Rage Against the Machine - esque

  • dave is really the best lyricist I've ever heard, hes got a gift from God, a prophet

  • man i like a lot this song its so damn awesome

  • totally like Tornado of Souls

  • @DETHFAN18ALL Yeah except with playable parts. XD

  • @derpdragon lol ya holy wars and tornado are impossibly epic

  • @DETHFAN18ALL Not really... Tornado of souls isn't that hrd

  • @MrBlahblah690 well im a noob so they are for me... Im extremely badass at vocals thoso don't call me a noob

  • @MrBlahblah690 i think he was saying that its an awsome song not that its hard to play but its really fun to play

  • 1:50 > what a FANTASTIC riff =D

  • Anyone else notice the extreme similarity to Tornado of Souls?

  • @achilleselbow And also listen to Never Walk Alone off of United Abominations, they're almost the same riff.

  • Innnnternal commmbustian....

  • lol never walk alone a call to arms glen copyed marty

  • Fixed the lyrics, finally, only took 2 years. Enjoy.

  • Great song

I understand in 1:17 everytime "Scorching for domain" instead of "Searching the domain"

  • My fav song from this record

The guitar riff is really fun to play from start to finish!

  • i don't know why but i get a bit of "Dazed And Confused" impression at the end of this song!

  • @blitzkreiz

hahaha its like the same notes or something =D

  • @TuftyTheDuck451 lol! yeah! it's the same with led zep's Kashmir and Rainbow's Stargazer!

  • Really unrated song from Megadeth ! on of the most metal from this album. I don't understand why it dosen't get more attention from this album!

  • Your nightmare is coming true, now is the time that Lucifer is in

transition, the Disintegrators are being built as we speak openly our

own demise, inside of a secret place, the Vortex was created,

  • @Murdilizer thats cool dude !
