Part of this video is missing. Somewhere around the 4:30 mark.
I remember that just before the chair slid across the room his inkwell spilled over and got ink all over his hand. Thats why he checked both the next morning and was surprised to see them as they should be.
"Let me know, anything, yes...as long as it's not illegal, immoral, or contrary to the great school teacher's code."
My guess as to why Palmer laughs before he leaves is because the kind of help Palmer wants will most likely BE illegal, immoral, and/or contrary to the great school teacher's code.
I can't prove it, of course. But, it is possible that Ichabod may have meant the "Battle of Yorktown" when he said "Yonkers". If not, then I don't know what else could add up to Ichabod mentioning Yonkers. That's all for now.
And, I just remembered something else about my last comment I posted, regarding the legend never mentioning Yonkers as a battle, even though it's mentioned in this film. I looked up the so-called "Battle of Yonkers" online some nights ago. According to a website I was in, there was no such battle that even took place. The only "Y"-named battle was the "Battle of Yorktown" and it's possible that Yorktown may be the real town that was replaced by Yonkers in this version.
I have a question. Washington Irving's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" never mentions "Yonkers" as the battle in which the Hessian loses his head. According to the legend, it was a nameless battle. So, my question is this. How did they come up with Yonkers as the battle where the Hessian loses his head? No other version of Sleepy Hollow mentions this battle.
Palmer's kinda nuts in death. He's mad, and wants to avenge himself upon who took his life. We all only have one life, and Brombones took it from him. I'd be mad too.
The plot is really funny and real in the same time. I don't really like TV series but this is great. I watch many kind of adaptation of this story and you know they had created new stories about Sleepy Hollow.
Hmm-- for a ghost, he's pretty solid. He can even open a door and walk through it. You'd think they'd have him, ya know, vanish, or walk through the wall, or something...
yah but maybe they didn't ahve the buget fot it- I mean they were shooting int the winter or at least that's what the script called for, maybe it was summer and they had to produce all the snow; it's been done before- so maybe they ran out of money or time, the deadline could've passed with pot post being finished with...
I love the part where Ichabod has encounters with some poltergeists that make a chair slide by itself and the door that opens and closes repeatedly. And LOL when Ichabod's eyes roll up and he faints! Very cool and funny!

raerae1281: For the times, that was the best that could be done, because they didn't have the technologies they have now.

They had the technology to make it look like someone was fading away.

raerae: Too true, but the fact that this was a little-known made-for-TV film allowed for some leeways.

sure they did! they've been using special effects in movies since the silent days. things like vanishing, floating, dissappearing are nothing new
