  • This is sad now to see the "Lost Generation" rest in Peace.

  • Mr Harry Patch, the poor bloke tried so despriatley to get out of his wheel chair to lay the reef himself we will remember them

  • So sad that this great generation is all but gone.

As a kid in the early 1970's I remember World War I veterans coming into my parents business selling artificial red poppy flowers to raise money for the local VFW.

We should also remember that November 11th is Rhodesian independence day.

  • Mr. Harry Patch has just died. merely a week after Mr. Allingham left us. The last voice of the Great War has been silenced for all time, and thus closes the final chapter of the first World War. Let us never take for granted the sacrifices of that generation, now finally at peace. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."

  • RIP Mr Allingham. God bless you and your generation.
