Well, like you said, I played your copy when I was there. As far as I remember, your copy was a German 'Electrola' pressing, and I believe it didn't sound so well since it was little bit worn out. And of course, this sounds extraordinary good. Maybe this is an exception from typical HMV pressings.
Yes this is one of the best versions of this neopolitan song, not only for Caruso but also across the historical tenors of the early last century. Thank you.

What a fun song. :) I liked the photo in the beginning. He must be listening to one of these marvelous recordings.
This one is sped up a little, too, but that's OK. The quality is great, though. His voice sounds so clear.
