Funny thing is they asked JBass to teach a class in slap bass when he was a STUDENT at Berklee. Rediculous. I'll tell you what though, if I played bass, I would want AV as my teacher. And as a drummer, I'd love to study with Mike, but am making a strong push for Larry for the Fall of '08. Hope to see you guys soon! Just had my audition over this past weekend.

Yes, that is just medial tape around my thumb. I like the feel of it sometimes.

Yes, it makes the strings respond differently. I do it when I record or have to play a lot of slap. If I'm just playing a few tunes on a gig, I don't tape it, but I do like the feel of it. I started doing it back in 1986 when I broke my thumb. It hurt so much that I had to tape it up to play. Then I got use to it after a few months.
