all wow man I remember being 5 yrs old playing this on my drum set.Thats when my Dad said shiiiit! "He playing da shit outta dem toy sets".Let me get da real joints 4 him.I was da happiest kid in my block. And it wasnt even christmas either.
@skinsman3 Most kids know that music is the sound of gunshots and violence in skits, drug trafficking, and nigga nigga/bitches and hos. That's not music in my oppinion, but garbage! Also, hearing about prescription drug abuse and wrist-slitting ain't so flattering either. The really emotionally disturbed children are listening to that stuff as a justification for indulging in self destructive behaviors.
From chicago il southside.Im so damn glad im51. we got to taste so much good stuff and we know the true meaning of african american pride. we had martin malcolm medgar evers .nikki gionvanni etc.we had the cream of the crop in our faces.back then 10 black girls would not attact a pregnant girl black or white.(seattle)damn we n trouble. yeah EWF..talk about great lyrics.spiritual..NOn spiritual people will perish.
@RedFlagCoalition Well, talk to them, share your heart, find a way. They're human,it's in them, we just gotta dig deeper, but first,in ourselves, and see how we can become greater and up to the task at hand. That's what I say...and,why Not?! Everyone always talks about,"The kids of today!" Remember that? We're just rearranging the words,me too.
This is the album in which I "discovered" EWF. There are indeed some incredible cuts on this album. But I will always remember listening to this song and "All About Love" over and over. I was 12y/o and would visit my sister's and brother-inlaw's house in Baton Rouge. The first thing I'd do was play this album.
I would play this for my grandsons and get them moving and feeling good in the mornings. Followed by Mighty-Mighty and other EWF songs. We'd be pumped for the day with our spirits in the right place. Music is powerful and EWF remain one of the most gifted/influential groups of our times!
i remember this album sooo well, it spun on my turntable a million revolutions ago....That's the Way of the World was FULL of wisdom...wisdom for the ages. What gets me is that it is so timeless (still worthy and relevant to today's world), yet we have NO CURRENT artist that can "tell the story" with love, peace and understanding the way EWF did every time you'd drop the tone arm down in the groove... but still....i remember...
I haven't heard this tune in years, had forgotten about it . This cut and so,so many others of this era (70s) can rock the airwaves NOW! With most of today's "music", I feel sorrow for tha youngstas.
Hey Baby Boomers let's get busy. You know who you are. Lets finally have our day. We have been waiting to rebel for sooooooo long. Come on and call your Congressman and Senatore and Bitch to them. Some bitchen to your spouce and or significant other. Bitch to the guys who are suppose to be watching our backs. Tell them to get up and dance to our tune. That is their job after all. Make them remember it.
@dmadscott7 yeah yesterdays music you actually had to have talent and a unique sound in order to become famous. now a days all you need is your computer and you're instantly famous. R. Kelly and bruno mars and m&m are the only musicians left other than the people who do metal which really isnt music
I'm glad to here that!!! However I still say that nobody today plays that instrument in the USA...They are so use to using others music and adding computer enhancement to the voices...I miss the Old Days where music had you close your eyes and take a Trip without leaving your room!!!
@rodimus48prime Actually Taj Mahal played the Kalimba before Maurice did along with thousands of other African musicians..The instrument has been around for thousands of years...
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN STOP THE PHONE CALLS WE HAVE A WINNER WHAT A WAY TO START A POSITIVE DAY WOW I FEEL GOOD LISTENING TO GODS MESSAGE IF THAT DOES NOT MOVE YOUR ASS YOUR YOUR DEAD. THANK YOU FOR THE POST WHAT A CLASS ACT.

@r59691 Plenty of us "children" appreciate good music as well I was raised on EWF and have seen em twice i just wish my generation was more aware of how good music with musicality actually is
glad to hear someone recognize... i looked it up specifically for the play-along, and now my right forearm is all tightened up moving those fingers...
lol,I imagine! I tried to play along with it for a while but got depressed (and really tired)....I'll get back to it in the future, right now it's too much for me
whats with this 'northern soul' thing getting hold of all great music and calling it there own!!!???-this isnt 'northern soul' just great soul music !!!
@bernieplop Well, it was played extensively at Blackpool Mecca as a hot new release in 1975 alongside a mixture of "rare 60s" and contemporary Soul music, and was later picked up and spun at more traditional "Northern Soul" venues, so has become regarded as a 'Northern Soul' club hit by default. It remains Disco-Funk/Afro-Jazz Soul (or however you want to define it), nonetheless.
Just heard this on the Soul Train Re-Run on the Bounce Network CDT. Like the vibes Mo is playing on this and earlier dates on EWF. Still sounds Good.
