@chrislobo26 Thank you for your kind words Chris. I haven't thought about posting instructional videos. One of my students keeps asking me to write an instructional book. Two very good ideas. I'll try to post more videos when I get the chance. Glad you liked the video. Take care.
@hckydad : Man, this kit sounds indescribable. The tom-toms, and that solid, and deep "thud" of the bass... I'll say it again, it's the best sounding kit I've heard yet on YT. I'm glad you uploaded this video.
Had to check out this vid as well, w/ the '49 calf skin Slingerland kit. The sound astounds me, and that snare sounds so incredibly crisp. Outstanding playing ability too, Mike. You're a lucky man to have this vintage set-up.
@Premier67 How could you play a set of old Radio Kings with calf heads and not have some Krupa influences come out? LOL. Thanks for the kind words. Cymbals are: 14" hi hats 1950's Zildjian K's made in Istanbul. Left side crash is actually an old 14" 1960 hi hat. 16" swish from the 70's. The splash on the right is an old Zildjian from the 30's. Cowbell was made by Ludwig in the late 50's. PS...I LOVE the Rogers hi hat. Smooth as silk!!
@roryb10 I got the calf skins for the toms and snare drum about 15 years ago from a man who's name escapes me from Chicago. I had this kit in storage for about 15 years. The calf skins on the bass drum are the actual original Slingerland Radio Kings calf skins!!! They're over 60 years old!! Thanks for watching.
@ITeachThereforeIDrum Oh, I forgot to mention that the bass drum has calf skin front & back. They are actually the original heads too!! Thanks for the nice comment.
Calf sound so much fuller, richer, fatter, and better than plastic! Plastic sounds like ......plastic!

Oh, I forgot to ask: What type of pedal are you using on the bass drum? Thanks.

@terrafirma91 I think I used a Ludwig Speed King on this set.

Sing, sing, sing...heard some Krupa influence in there.
Nice relaxed feel, Mike, w/ a variety of sweet fills. Rogers HH stand, they're good.
I have one, needs refurbishing. What kind of hats? Cymbals you have with the kit create a nice blend. Good stuff!
