Good question, but it is up to you to answer that. Did you buy the right one? Does it feel right when you play it? Does it sound good? It's up to you.
The E11 is at dead bottom of intermediate clarinets. The keys click no matter how good you are. Overall, the wood does not resonate very well. In addition, the E11 is unresponsive. If ever you have a choice of buying a clarinet, go for an E13. You will not be able to buy this instrument new, as it has unwisely been discontinued from production by Buffet Crampon. However that means you wont have to break it in. I sure had a very frustrating time with the E11.
ive got a b12 n ive just broke it lol, but ive had it for 5 years, and when i got it, it was second hand, they had it for 2 years, so its about 7 years old... n im thinking of getting an E11... whats wrong with it???
actually its because he sucks, im in the youth orchestra and my sound on my E11 is superb, its one of the best, but R13 is a wee bit better, E13 is just the same except black rings, but this guy is just making excuses that his clarinet is bad even though he clearly sucks
I disagree. Overall, the E11 is not a good instrument. To untrained ears, it may sound good. To the more experienced ears, the E11 does not resonate well at all. As you may tell from the video, it was not a great performance. It got off to a bad start because the group playing the orchestra parts are in an orchestra, and are used to a conductor. Things just got worse from there. Be careful about saying I suck from this one performance. A conclusion usually takes multiple trials to draw.
If possible, get an E13 instead. You will be rewarded by its responsiveness. The E11 is not responsive, even with a proper break-in period and a good reed.
a reed wouldnt make a difference to the rest of the clarinet though would it, you need to push the correct amount of air through the clarinet and not squeeze.. if you have problems with it playing, even with a good reed, then maybe you need a different mouth piece????
I just bought E12 .. did I buy right one?

E11 sucks.
R13, top of the line, much much better.
Combined w/ a good reed, and an excellent mouth piece.. sounds brilliant.
E11 is for middle schoolers.
Really. Amateurs that have begun to learn how to play the clarinet.
E11 and R13 have two distinct sounds you can hear if your ears are musically geared. -__-;

Remember good musicians never blame their instruments, and engineers shouldn't blame their tools for not being the best.

The E11 has gotta be way better than my B12 though, so i dont think im going to find the E11 a bad clarinet to play...it has good reviews elsewhere
