Sure the volunteer army is optional, but the choice is between starving to death or becoming part of some new government program, because when your dollars are drafted, the only thing left to do is to try and get them back. The draft defines how serious we are. We should never go to war without a draft. The first to go should be the President's kids, then every employee and every elected official from every level of government.

If the child of a government worker is medically deferred, or washed out, parents loose their jobs!
