Celldweller's Wis hupon a blackstar seems to be material closer to his original stuff like his self-titled. but he thinks differently for the SVH...different style, different feel, different everything. and however he managed to do this, he does it well. SVH is an iconic style of Celldweller. I gotta admit, if Voices In My Head was a movie or game (hence "soundtrack" in album line name) I would totally buy and watch that movie, cuz it would be hardass shit!!
@SingularityGT I didn't mean to portay ur opinion as nonsense, it just found it strange that you like progressive/long songs but find Tool's songs repetitive, but now I understand ur point of view. Tool is by no means symphonic (metal). Let's put an end to this conversation, it has been going on for some time and I think both of us agree it's merely a matter of taste, which can't be argued with. See you around, Cystlib
@SingularityGT i am loving the intelligent discussion going on here. this song also reminds me of tool. i like two people actually discussing something legit rather than spamming with a ton of insults. keep it up.
@SingularityGT Tools songs quickly change in time signatures and they use a lot odd time signatures, so they def arent repititive at all. And no the drums aren't repititve 2, I think ur 1 of the few ppl that think they are, as Danny Carrey is also considered one of the best/original drummers of our time. I can understand you don't really like Tool, but to say it's because their songs are repititive, while on the other hand u say ur used 2 long and prog. songs, sounds like nonsense to me
@SingularityGT I already know Under My Feet, one of my favorite songs by Celldweller. Maybe you think Tool's songs feel the same and are repetitive because they have a dark feeling, but as soon as you get a bit used to that feeling you start to see the differences between the songs. And Tool is progessive, which means their songs are about how the song evolves, which may result in a bit repetitive song for ppl who arent used to prog songs. Listen to Wings for Mary and Rosetta Stoned for example.
@SingularityGT I already know Under My Feet, one of my favorite songs by Celldweller. :) Maybe you think all Tool songs have the same feeling and are repetitive because they have a dark feeling. But as soon as you get used a bit to that feeling, you start to see the differences between each song. Saying each Tool song feels the same because it's dark is like saying each Celldweller song feels the same because it's electronic rock. Give a listen to the song Wings for Mary and 10000 Days.
@SingularityGT You should defenitely take a listen to their two most recent albums (Lateralus and 10000 Days, I prefer their later work myself and these two albums are my favorite Tool-albums). And it's defenitely true there is no accurate way in measuring someones influence or talent. :)
@SingularityGT Ah piano is a beautiful instrument. Do you know the pianist Ludovico Einaudi? His music is like magic :D But about Klayton, he might be a multiinstrumentalist (and a damn good one as u said and I do agree), but he doesn't use his instruments in a 'groundbreaking' way. Tool is widely accepted as one of the most talented band today and they have been an influence for bands as System of a Down, Korn and Chevelle. As an example, listen to tbartel's drum cover of 'the grudge' by Tool
@SingularityGT Hey I must agree Celldweller and Blue Stahli are great, but so is Tool. And no offense, but Tool's members are one of the most talented people out there, more talented than Klayton (just try covering their songs and you'll find out urself). They kinda invented a new metal-genre. But why can't we just get along and enjoy both bands?
First part sounds like Red vs. Blue! =DD
