  • Que som lindo, que coerencia entre os instrumentos.....também só feras da música não é pra menso, parabéns!!!!!

  • who knew that peter erskine is also a phenomenal guitarist...?

  • Hipnotised

  • This was a great trio! I know this from 15 years! Great sound also! No pretension, no complexities. Just power of jazz!!!!!!!!!

  • If someone tells me Dave Holland is the human manifestation of God on Earth I would start believing in God. But that's the problem: he cannot be human!

  • 3:30 - Abercrombie is reaching a new level here!!!

Jazz depends on this kind of attitude, but only a few are willing to take the chances and Abercrombie is one of them!

He is really going to a different level of creation and perception - deconstructing time, emancipating time. A truly unique voice for the last decades. Those 10 seconds mean a world.

  • Didn't realize Abercrombie is kinda badass.

  • @dangerbooboo good answer. thanks!

  • can someone give me an intelligent answer to this: How would one "comp" over dave's solo. it's time/no changes obviously. so how do you add to the conversation without imposing tonality. I hear JA doing stuff, but it's not totally satisfying to me...

  • @RadiusX7 You can hear that Dave is taking advantage of the open solo form and taking plenty of liberties harmonically, but he's departing from and returning to that Eb minor b6 tone row. (Aeolian, but I don't think about it that way because I find it confining personally.) Knowing that and having good relative pitch (or absolute pitch for those of us who are lucky enough to have it) is enough to be able to comp on this IF you're a good listener and sensitive to what a soloist is going for.

  • If for one day the entire world could listen to this together... imagine...

  • awesome

  • out of space, out of time....amazing...no words...

  • Jesus Christ DeJohnette's playing is so distinctive. Instantly recognizable and forever amazing.

  • Did Scofield not get his entire style from this guy? I like Sco but jeez this sounds just like him much earlier, am I missing something?

  • @Monsterdrumma you are right! and I have to add: Abercrombie is much more profound...my opinion here.

  • A solid state fender and Marshall amp in stereo? Not the ideal setup, but Abercrmobie makes it sound great.

  • Great!

  • that's some bad shit right there man.

  • where are they playing?

  • God ... is that you?

  • I love it when Abercrombie goes free-jazz and plays like a sax.

I'd say it sounds both abstract, melodic and kinda "fat".

Lots of sonority in his playing. He's one of those I admire the most.

  • awesome

  • I like It!!!!

  • Saw them at the Blue Note in NYC in '94. Unforgettable show. Opened with Backwoods Song. Wish one or all of them would visit Honolulu and play for us.
