  • Any hints on how to hit that last high note-this is an awesome song

  • Dr. Valerie was my director when I was in the OU Heritage Ensemble in 1993... Loved hearing her then and wish I had some of the pieces we did back then to listen to now.... I'm happy to see her again after all these years and she finally got that Dr. to go with that Voice.... Love you Val and miss you more than you'd ever believe... Thank you for opening my heart and mind to the truly amazing gifts God bestows upon his children... Love Sadiki

  • EVERY TIME I hear Doc sing, I get tingles. I love this! It's giving me so much strength as I face surgery again in 2 days.

  • A total soprano!

  • Is that Joseph Joubert directing

  • Jesus I believe u care 4 me so HELP

  • She was my music teacher my freshman year in 2001 and despite anything negative anyone has to say if you have never heard her and our choir in person you are totally missing it. Our choir was da bomb!!!!!

  • Is this the conductor wife? she sang well but would have been kool to see a student SCREAM THIS!!

  • No, she's not his wife. She was one of the voice teachers at Dillard and also an alumn. She was my coice teacher and she is amazing.

  • she was annoited

  • she singed her heart out

  • Go D.U. You guys are da bomb!

  • This is kinda sad the church nor the choir seems to know the power of voice and song. Music whether concert, chorale or gospel should cause some reaction. This is a great voice and song. Betta luck next time.

  • Sing Val!!!

  • yes i thought she was gona try to play that note out but she made it and beyond alright for the sistah!!!

  • Yes Lord! lol

  • Doc is my favorite voice teacher I ever had. Everybody loves her, she's not a diva, and she takes time with all of her "kids". And she has an awesome voice! I'm happy to see her singing again!

  • I don't care who your director is, you never let someone tell you when you can and can't praise the Lord. If the spirit moves, you go with the flow, concert choir or not. I am also mad that I had the original video of this saved in my favorites of The Tommies singing this back in the 80's and ALL of their videos seemed to have been deleted. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL!

  • Dr. Valerie is the greatest voice teacher in the world. She took time with me and now I have a range out of this world for a man. Thank You Dr. Valerie Francis She is a well kept secret in New Orleans

  • Went to school with Val (Mc D35 and Dillard). It was good seeing this post. Sing Choir

  • That's my momma!!!

  • That is true, but we also have to do things in decency and in order. We have to follow the instruction of our director.

  • 4sho

  • tHE LEAD WAS BLOWING BUT WHY DID THE CHIOR LOOK depressed

  • We're a concert choir, so we couldn't react very much. Little different than a gospel choir. but it was taking everything in us not to shout.

  • Next time, shout anyway to the praise and the glory of God. It looks like you were in a church and everything we do ought to be to God's glory and honor especially in his house.

  • I know the feeling...I was apart of a school choir where the Director told us the same thing....He actually would take us out if we shouted. We found a way to remedy that.....We all shouted!!.. One person can't possibly move 40 plus shouting people. He would sit down and look straight ahead. That's why you gotta be on one accord.
