  • GOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM

  • very soulful had 45 back in sixtes. blue eyed soul to the max------ the bear

  • The sound quality is unbelievable! How do you do it?

  • Makes me happy....thanks. Yeh Yeh!

  • I love this song so much I taught it to my cockatiel....he never did get it quite right (he always blended in a bit of the Andy Griffith theme), but it was a laugh riot anyway.

  • my grandad showed me this last night it is great :D

  • Mich Mitchel on drums on this one.

  • Great sound ... almost Blue Note .... great vocalist .... drums also sound great!

  • Thank you SHANGHAI KNIGHTS for introducing me to this song.

  • I jammed with him a few weeks ago, on a Jazz Kamp in Slovenia, he's a legend! :D

  • So catchy and i just wanna listen to it again and again

  • nice groove

  • How can you not love this song? Pure joy. No deep message. Georgie forever!

  • His band-the blue flames!Ah what fun you could have with a cigarette lighter in the 60s.

  • What are some acts that are similar to Georgie Fame?

  • Huge No1 when this came out 1965. Georgie Fame's the cool cat

  • great quality checked other videos with this song and pops occur with them too at the same point in song so the master recording must have had a few faults in it great record no.1 in england did pretty well in states too !

  • This is song was co written by Pat Patrick , the great jazz saxophonists from Sun Ra s band , whose soh is know Governor of Mass

  • Wow what a voice - brings back such happy memories of seeing him in London and him singing Lil'darling to me in person........... happy days!

  • I know it's an alternate way to spell it, and therefore also correct, but I HATE when people choose to spell "yeah," Y, E, H. Idk why lol but it's a serious pet peeve. Great song, but the fact that it's spelled that way in a song title is just too much for me HAHA :) Kidding... anyone else like "yeah" over "yeh?" Haha, "yeh," to me, doesn't seem like it represents how it is actually said... "Yeah," does.

  • Looking forward to doing a support set at this Legendary fella's gig on the 8th May in North London! Got my dancing shoes ready :)

  • Hey there, I'm in Japan now, dealing with aftershocks and everything else, and this song has really brightened my day. Thank you for up loading this!

  • @rollrboy1980 If that is true (many people lie on here for attention, sadly), then I hope you're all hanging in there. Just want to say we're all thinking of and praying for Japan every day here in New York City. Wish it never happened, but I hope you all can find some peace and happiness during this dark time, and hew a stone of hope from this mountain of despair. <3

  • @speeeee35 Hey there, and sorry for the late reply. Unfortunatly, yes, it's all true. Been a crazy month.I'm from New Zealand originally, but have been living here for about 4 years. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement, and I hope to visit your great city some day. As a side note, I bought a Yankees cap the week after 9/11 to show my solidarity with you guys, and have worn it every day since.

  • @rollrboy1980 You show more to the cause than did the Yankees:They refused to wear either the FDNY or PDNY caps after the tragedy.

  • Are there any good covers of this?

  • @firestartertwistedfi I think Matt Bianco did a cover of this song somewhere during the eighties.

  • @Tkallab - Sadly, they did yes!

  • my dream....

  • French version by Claude François.

  • Pillow Fight!!!!! :D

  • Shanghi Knights

  • Mi a (penis) van, itt mindenki angolul vartyog? A szám korszakos és megérdemli, hogy ne flejtsül el ! Se Magyarországon, se máshol. Kérem a más nyelvű kritikákat.

  • Marvellous!!!

  • This song reminds me so much of Peter Sterling dancing around in the safari suit on the Australian Rugby League Footy Show back in 1995...."Advanced Hair.....YEAH YEAH!!"

  • a great classic!

  • @bobyoung53 For some reason (copyright / licensing?), the sax solo was missing from the US version.

  • I SAY HELL YEAH!!!

  • one of the firsr singles i ever owned, god just shows my age,

  • @shoobiedoobiedoowah the song was covered by Matt Bianco in 85. I don't think that it was New Wave but MTV might have been.

  • We were making musical history at this point in time. Thank goodness we can pass this on.

  • That Georgie is one bad mutha.

  • 1st heard this on WMEX Boston WOO WOO Ginsburg early early 60's Tune always stuck in my head all these years.

  • i have know the name of this song for almost a year now. but wow i took me almost 10 years to figure the name out. i went to record stores trying to hum the song and i have a bad voice so you can imagine how embarrassing it was. also the joe jeffery band my pledge of love was also another song that took me about 5 years to figure out. but of all my golden oldies yeh yeh yeh , and my pledge of love are my favorite

  • Cool tune and cool band. Did this show up on MTV back in the 80's? I swear I remember seeing some new wave band cover this on a video broadcast with the hip stuff they would show really late at night. Anyone?

  • Fame N Farlowe

I was F*n lucky to be alive in the 60's AND we are F8n lucky they are alive and working NOW

  • Thumbs up if you know the song from Shanghai Knights :D:D

  • I KNEW THIS WAS AN OLD SONG/ A COVER! I love the TMBG version SOOO much more, though.

  • we dig it - our neighbour has not heard this for years and used to go to all his gigs and now has a glass of wine and a spare copy of the original 45 --- sweet music - the B-side is a killer ...

    : )

  • The sax solo in the middle was cut out of any U.S. distributions.

    Thanks for including it.

  • greta song!!! crazy turntable!!!

  • This song kicks total ass!

  • my baby loves me..thats my fav part...lovely song

  • This song makes me wish I was around in the sixties

  • I was at Cooks Ferry Inn too when George introduced this song, which I told him during a band break that I thought it would go to No 1 - and it did.

Saw Georgie with his two sons a few years back, gigging at Three Line Whip. He can still do it, great musician.

  • Believe it or not he did a great version of Funny How Time Slips Away. Can't find it on youtube. I believe it was the flip side of this song.

  • the days when they made proper music

  • can music get any better than this :L

  • Is it just me or is "Get Away" recorded too slow on the CD version? My dad copied the original vinyl single to tape years ago, and I feel that is the right speed, on the same tape, it has this song and it is played at this speed, so there is nothing wrong with the tape, so what's your opinion? Is the CD version slow compared to the original vinyl?

Both are great songs in my opinion, Get Away is a great rocker and this is a great smooth tune!

  • REALLY great sound on this mate, thanks for posting mate!

  • saw him live at the cooks ferry inn about 1965 in north london spoke to him lovely guy .all the top bands played there the who chuck berry loads more should have been a listed building they knocked it down to widen the north circular road history gone for ever

  • thats what the kids need today good music

  • I Love This I Am So Glad I Found It Again On You Tube.... I Have Played It Everyday For Two Weeks I Hear My Teen Age Boys Singing Now They Want It For Their I-POD>>>HAHAHAHAHA... Their Friends Thought They Are Crazy But Guess Who Is Singing It With Them Now, I Have To Laugh But It's Because I'm Happy To Carry It On To New Generation Thanks Georgie,You Tube & Garfieldcat5!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tune!!

  • Good song, 65 was a in your face year for music. I was in the ninth grade, things were changing so quickly....

  • I Have Loved This I Was A Baby. This Recording From A Record Is Fantastic I Love It.

  • His voice is so soulful. If you didn`t know you`d think he was black by his voice.

    Incredible track!

  • @DoubleVisionandco

    He is Black!

  • @yaniska100 Dispite I made that comment 7 months ago, this must be a joke. He has other video`s right here on YouTube. Look at them.

  • @yaniska100 he is very much white(* born Clive Powell) and from Lancashire England

  • @rudchowbell Also it really doesn't matter whet his race is

  • @rudchowbell In music it does. But not in a negative way.

Can you really take White Reggae acts seriously?

  • @TheExposeTube if you have never seen the person singing ,as the person who asked about his race clearly has not , then it doesn't matter because they obviously liked it anyway So yeah i can take a white reggae band seriously. Good is good no matter the color..... is all I'm saying...thank you

  • @rudchowbell who can't forget geocities/testiflash in paying tribute to this song...it's so sad that geocities was gone in the wind and it includes testiflash...miss this song and now I am happy to hear it again...

  • @DoubleVisionandco what does it mean to sound "black"?

  • The cool is in.

  • I was 15 when this first played the memories of those days so innocent so fine wow did life fly by I SAY YEH YEH THATS WHAT I SAY thanks Garfieldcat5 I close my eyes and listen to this and my early teen years are there so upbeat so fine the only thing I cn say is YEH YEH :)

  • Great !! Mad about this album, every song is perfect.. Just downloaded this album for free at DownloadMusic/./im , remove the slashes..

  • Sounds great ! Thanks for posting.. 5/5

    Real classic !!!

  • one of my favs! yeh yeh!!

  • Nice - a bit more rocking version than the one that jazz singers Lambert, Hendricks & Ross did a few years earlier

  • Damn Cool song, And group . Loved the song and group in "65" love it today.

  • Got any gear?

  • Awesome turntable, dude! Super-clean transfer ...no clicks, pops, surface noise, etc. Do you use any particular noise removal program? Fitting quality for a groovy tune that you never hear on any oldies stations any more. Such is the pity that radio today is so painfully dull. Nice track...thanks!

  • The turn table used in the video is known as a linear turntable, straight line player, they are great.

  • Man man man, what a great song! Relaxed and easy going, with a catchy tune, a smoothly pumping rhythm and a text that says it all: my baby loves me ... and when she asks me if everything is ok... I say yeh yeh. Life could be that simple. Those were the golden years with carefree living, great music and enormously talented pop artists. Today's uninspired ephemeral epigones look irrevocably bleak in comparison.

  • @doenog overly deep explanation but true.

  • I say Yeh! Yeh!

    Great old tune!

    Thanks! *****

  • The "Hi" Records version I bought in 1965 ended before the instrumental interlude. It's a treat to hear the whole recording after all these years. Thanks for posting!

  • 'i'm digging records, 'cuz she has a groovy hi-fi"

  • vinyl owns

  • Wow. Did it ever get any cooler then this? Probably not. Why this wasn't a #1 hit in the US I'll never know...

  • While "Yeh Yeh" was on the chart, the top spot in the was occupied by "I Feel Fine" by the Beatles, "Downtown" by Petula Clark, or "Come See About Me" by the Supremes.

  • i first heard this song in a scene in the Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson movie "Shanghai Knights" a few years back. the scene was actually really funny (they were goofin around) and even after the movie was over, i was still hummin this song^_^ its so cute and fun, i love it (i'm only 18 years old btw)

  • @priapus56 did you give ole Georgie a blowjob for old times sake?

  • @JesusChristsuxCocks ...Your name proclaims you to be a complete wanker..any further comment from me appears to be superfluous..

  • @JesusChristsuxCocks Hey..I see you come from Uzbekhistan...Haven't you got a sheep to shag?

  • @priapus56 If I wanted any Lip out of you i would simply scrape it off of my scrotum.Didnt yer mama teach you how impolite it is to talk when your mouth is full?

  • @JesusChristsuxCocks....Look isn't it time for your annual visit to the laundrette to get your piss and shit-stained trousers cleaned-up? Put your cock down for a few minutes, switch off the porn and do something practical. Now, I actually have better things to do than to sit here hurling insults at the Editor of Wanker's Weekly, so good luck and goodbye and hopefully you might get killed in a plane crash one this summer. Ethnic cleansing.

  • @priapus56 ..Do you need to use the entire amount of words allowed everytime you attempt to combat me.Go look in the mirror next time you masterbate asshole, and maybe you will feel like you have a penis to be proud of!

  • LOL I totally agree...I hadn't actually heard this song until then! But I'm glad he didn't put me off it :p

  • Absolutely brilliant..thanks for the memory kick, great record great days great video we really had fun..

  • Never knew this song was available in Stereophonic sound. It's been found on numerous compilations here in USA in mono. Them b&stards! Now only if we can access a stereo version of "The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde" from Georgie. There should be a stereo version lurking around. After all it was released here in 1968! You'd think the records can be found in stereo! It's not a 40's recording for God's sake!!!

  • No such luck on bonnie and clyde, only the sound effects are stereo on the master tape :(

  • This is why the 'oldies' are called 'golden'. Thank you so much. Let's get up and dance to him some more and more.

  • gorgeous georgie thanks one of the best tracks ever!

  • Amazing

  • Georgie's vocal style and delivery are very similar to Jazz-Blues great Mose Allison, and that's no bad thing. Great song. I'd love to see a post of another lesser known GF song called, "Meantime Man".

  • Great ears! My compliments. I've got a live LP in a box somewhere of GF and the BF's doing a Mose Allison tune called "Seventh Son" done in... 7/4. Available for posting?
