Sounds too modern *slap* needs some magnetic tape to fill that gap that robs this of its energy. Or A muuuuch better mixing guy sound engineer type character.
I only found out who Billy Preston was today when I bought the One More Car, One More Rider Clapton DVD, and when it to "Have You Ever Loved A Woman"....WOW, BLOWN AWAY, this guy has serious skillz on the organ
This has been on my "favorites" for a few months now and every once in a while like today, I go back and watch it. Like blaueseekuh, I never knew Billy could "cut a rug" like he shows in this video. And I've been a fan since the 70's.
Very nice!!!!!! Great singer, great song!! Congratulations for this vidéos! Billy Preston is one of the best singer of 60's/ 70's on rock/blues. An d for me, this song is one of the best!
Have you seen, "Have you ever loved a Woman" with Clapton and Preston right before Beatle number 5 died? Close your eyes and it's just as inspiring, but to look at him is sad.....
That would have been at the first Crossroads festival....
I played with Billy on the set of the David Brenner show not on the air but we did Caledonia for Brenner and his gorgeous girl friend and Regis Philbin's wife Joy who was also a dish then was also there.. Billy's work on the Clapton CD of Robert Johnson tunes is some of his best work and the DVD CD of the Tribute to Robert J is maybe the best music video ever done in many ways..Billy shines throughout..God Bless you Billy RIP my friend..
Someone who sadly never got the recognition he deserved... except he was the only one credited alongside the Beatles on one of their singles! ('Get Back') Fantastic performance here, and I still have the 45rpm vinyl! Thanks so much for posting it.
I got this song a record with 7 female back-up singers they called them selves The Power of 7 and Billy Plays the hammond on this tune on that record, great players there!
Billy Preston - a man with great talent and showmanship! I saw him perform live in 1972 at a club in Chicago. The Brothers Johnson were part of his band. A great show! Not many performers today can compare.
Holy fuckin shit thank you for posting this. This is the greatest live music video ever!!Billy Preston was one of my top 3 favorite musicians in the entire world. Nothing today moves people around like the raw funk of Billy Preston. This is even more breathtaking watching a live version of this awesome song. And what better sidekick to have than Eric Clapton? There is so much talent on that stage it frightens me.
"Noting today moves people around like the raw funk of Billy Preston", natureboy84 wrote. I agree man, I agree. But on one condition: You *must* watch Billy Preston and his song 'That's the way God planned it' (find it here on youtube), performed during the Concert for Bangla Desh, also with Clapton. For me that was THE song that introduced me to him long time ago. Can't see that piece enough. He was a special man, a very special man.

Here's a radical idea, why don't you just sit down with a recording and take some time and listen to it and learn it? Yeah, I know, it would actually take effort! Oh no, not that!
Well, as there are alot of great guitarist on youtube, who are kind enough to make the effort and tab a song by ears, i was hoping that one of them would be wathcing my comment..
