It's unprofessional & unsanitary to ask the client to hold the clamp. The needle was suppose to be inserted from the top. A longer barbell is needed because of the swelling. Using a shorter barbell puts pressure on the wound causing discomfort, improper or delayed healing, & even an infection. ALWAYS use surgical steel for the first 6 weeks, wash area w|anti-bacterial soap twice a day & spray on Saline Solution 3x a day. Stay away from lotions, vaseline, or any other creams & ointments.

Experts won't do that, reason being, that if the client panics; lets it slip, or doesn't hold it tight enough, it makes the piercer's life much difficult cos he/she has to locate it again. It's a needle going thru your skin. It's one of those things......

I've had my labret done 4 times, and I think one or 2 times I was asked to hold the clamp. Sometimes the piercer just needs an extra pair of hands, I guess. That said, that stud was WAY too short. I've never had any piercer use one that short.

@shedev Do you have a low pain tolerence? I have not numbed mine but I have a high pain tolerance. My sister paid to numb hers and the piercing was finished b4 it really took affect. She said it was a waste to numb, but that was just her experience. And all you feel is a small pinch. Not even enough reason to numb. Just my opinion.

I agree that this guy was less than professional. But I dont agree with the dispute over corks, tubes, and the insertion taper method. What he did going from the outside in was fine. Many piercers use this method so they dont miss thier mark going from the inside out. However his needle speed was poor, there is no reason the piercee should ever have to hold the forceps, and there taper should have been in and out and the jewelry in no less than 3 seconds after the needle was in

Yeah this guy sucks, and shouldn't be wearing fucking flip flops while working, but there is no reason to use a receiver tube, and corks should never be used. Using a pen from wal mart is okay on one person one time (I doubt this guy did that), and going from the outside in is ok (though more complicated and ultimately pointless), But yeah, this guy sucks.

I had mine done yesterday & the guy did great, except I 'm worried the bar is a little too short. I have to say, it didn't hurt at all really. Just a little pitch. Hurt less than getting blood drawn at the doctors office or any of that. That is how it was for me anyway, my sister, who had it done right before me, she is still talking about how bad it hurt her.

@TR0L0L trust ive been piercing proffesionally for eight years. Think about it, a labret stud goes in from the inside of your mouth. So when you pierce it the jewelry can push the needle out in the same direction it was pierced in. to pull the needle back through the piercing is not only idiotic but would be painful. Try imagining someone stabbing your face with a needle and then trying to pull it back out. Ouch!!

I mean, I did not know piercings were done like that, and going by what you have said you do not know they were done like I said. Most piercers in the UK (and I'm sure other places too) do the way I suggested, and I've had it done many times. It does not hurt at all! :)
@RyanTristain Yes if you live in the UK then you are also correct. European body piercing is done differently. In Europe, Cannula needles are used. In north America hypodermic needles are used. The piercer in the video uses a hypodermic needle, so it is done incorrectly. Had a cannula needle been used then it would have been correct.

@shedev Do you have a low pain tolerence? I have not numbed mine but I have a high pain tolerance. My sister paid to numb hers and the piercing was finished b4 it really took affect. She said it was a waste to numb, but that was just her experience. And all you feel is a small pinch. Not even enough reason to numb. Just my opinion.

All around I hope this guy got fired as it says. Or at the very least got pushed back to apprentice and has to have a real piercer there with him to do them from now on.

Theres nothing wrong with your sister, ignore the twats that say things like that because its insecure people having to pick on someone else to make themselves feel better. Congratulate your sister for me on waiting for the piercer to get that done, it seemed to have took an awful long time. I just got my hood pierced last week and it was done in seconds and that was bad enough and long enough for me!

I agree that this guy was less than professional. But I dont agree with the dispute over corks, tubes, and the insertion taper method. What he did going from the outside in was fine. Many piercers use this method so they dont miss thier mark going from the inside out. However his needle speed was poor, there is no reason the piercee should ever have to hold the forceps, and there taper should have been in and out and the jewelry in no less than 3 seconds after the needle was in

Yeah this guy sucks, and shouldn't be wearing fucking flip flops while working, but there is no reason to use a receiver tube, and corks should never be used. Using a pen from wal mart is okay on one person one time (I doubt this guy did that), and going from the outside in is ok (though more complicated and ultimately pointless), But yeah, this guy sucks.

I had mine done yesterday & the guy did great, except I 'm worried the bar is a little too short. I have to say, it didn't hurt at all really. Just a little pitch. Hurt less than getting blood drawn at the doctors office or any of that. That is how it was for me anyway, my sister, who had it done right before me, she is still talking about how bad it hurt her.
And just for the record.. your sister is GORGEOUS!

okay first off he pierced it backwards. It should have been done inside out, so now that he's put the needle in backwards he's trying to pull the sharp needle back through the hole so he can attempt to get the jewelry in. Sooooooo wrong!!!! What an idiot!!!!

@TR0L0L trust ive been piercing proffesionally for eight years. Think about it, a labret stud goes in from the inside of your mouth. So when you pierce it the jewelry can push the needle out in the same direction it was pierced in. to pull the needle back through the piercing is not only idiotic but would be painful. Try imagining someone stabbing your face with a needle and then trying to pull it back out. Ouch!!

I mean, I did not know piercings were done like that, and going by what you have said you do not know they were done like I said. Most piercers in the UK (and I'm sure other places too) do the way I suggested, and I've had it done many times. It does not hurt at all! :)

@RyanTristain Yes if you live in the UK then you are also correct. European body piercing is done differently. In Europe, Cannula needles are used. In north America hypodermic needles are used. The piercer in the video uses a hypodermic needle, so it is done incorrectly. Had a cannula needle been used then it would have been correct.
