  • "What was all the fuss about?"

43-13 ended up being the fuss. As it should have been.

  • Love the BBC commentary...!

  • Lino singing 'Ireland's Call' at 3.44

  • The day Ireland grew up and moved on,

  • PROUD FUCKING IRISHMAN UNTIL MY LAST BREATH! GOOD ON YA LADS!

  • Gotta love "the Bull" Hayes with tears in his eyes!

  • dirty English cunts

  • why do the ulster players not sing 'the soldier's song'? if they want to play for ireland, they need to sing the irish anthem. otherwise they should play for england.

  • @tarmonhill Thats why they have Ireland Call afterward. Irelands Call is for the whole of the island of Ireland to sing loud and proud! :)

  • @tarmonhill They're playing for the island of Ireland, not the Republic, not the North. Hence the 2 anthems.

  • That band playing the music is amazing!

  • @leone4321 It was the T.M.O. Alain Rolland an Irishman

  • The amount of hair Paul O'Connel had!

  • I am an Indian and I got goosebumps watching this video. Go Ireland!

  • sheesh; doesn't anybody remember what happened at Croke Park on 21 November 1920??? It is a big deal that Brits are allowed back to the park and treated with respect.....

  • @brighae1 even though Ireland already played England in a football match there years ago

  • @XtraAceCon Ireland have never played England at soccer in Croke Park

  • @jwood36 1995

  • @XtraAceCon That was Lansdowne Road mate, it was the behaviour of the England fans that night which meant English football fans would never be welcome in Croke Park

  • Wow.

  • 27 dislikes?? these people obviously dont know the significance of this game and in particular the english national anthem been played in Croke Park. im not a bigot or racist but to me this is one of irelands biggest days when we finally moved on... Although we can not and will not forget what happened in this stadium in the past, its nice to be able to move in the right direction

  • when the celts left mainland europe and headed for these shores circa 500bc, they consisted of two groupings of tribes, the britons who landed in the south of what is now known as britain and who spoke p celtic, and the gaels who came to ireland (then known as banba) and spoke q celtic. whats happened since is history.

  • Thumbs up if your crying for irish national anthem

  • According to John T. Koch and others, Britain in the Late Bronze Age was part of a maritime trading-networked culture called the Atlantic Bronze Age that also included Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal where Celtic languages developed.

Its Iron Age inhabitants are known as the BRITONS, a group speaking a Celtic language

  • im a proud irishman. european cousins? our "nearest and dearest" tried to fuck us for hundreds of years. but that's life i suppose...

  • have nothing against irish people as an englishman i think all white europeans need to unite and whilst its lovely to have differences we face huge problems with islamic immigration taking ocver europe! love ireland love england love our european cousins!!

  • Praise Ireland!

  • franchement c'est beau!!!

on voit vraiment les joueurs qui sont pris aux tripes par l'hymne!! bravo

  • @ marmaline2001

    Clown!!

  • @marmaline2001

Many Brits are that stupid and naive?

Uhmm, Brits attacked Northern Ireland first not the other way around. And the fact big powerful Britain can't take less then 1,000 IRA soldiers in a small country is pathetic!...Douche bag Brit scum, go drink your tea you girl!

  • last time i looked this video was about the anthems and the rugby,

  • @marmaline2001 and england should give back the 4 million people they killed and the 6 countys they stole from us :D

  • My god the comments here make me almost ashamed to be irish

  • @seankinsellasean fuck u u stupid cunt 1000s of people died so u could be free today show a bit of fuckin respect

  • @jacksiemufc thats the thing, I am showing respect, im showing respect to both national anthems without getting involved in something which happened decades before me or you where even born, Im sure if i went to a germany vs poland match video there wouldnt be as many dumb comments

  • @jacksiemufc

    Spot on Jacksie.

They died so you could be free - free to have MUFC in your username while spouting shit on youtube. Tis what they dreamt of.

  • @seankinsellasean

    agreed:))

  • prord to be irish that day listening to Amhran na bhFainn and also ireland hammering england

  • Comment removed

  • @marmaline2001

    Yeah thanks for that. LOL

  • 3:46 referee singing irelands call

  • @marmaline2001 What about the 6 county's you owe Ireland?

  • money money money, thats all you english pricks can say, thats it with english rugby and french, money money money,at least munster and leinsters stars are home grown, pricks, tiochaidh ar la

  • LONG LIVE NORTHERN IRELAND!!!!

WE DONT WANT THOSE IRISH EUROS

WE ARE PROUD TO USE OUR NATIONAL CURRENCY THE POUND STERLING AND NOT SOME CURRENCY IMPOSED BY THE FRANCO-GERMAN CURRENCY CALLED EURO, WHICH IS NOW WEAK.

LONG LIVE NORTHERN IRELAND! NO SURRENDER!

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 get a grip, move on and stop being such a bigot from another century

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 Considering that a weakening euro means a boost in Irish exports(which have been above target for this year) I don't think you'll find too many Irish people crying about the euro's demise.

PS...The United Kingdom-Owes half a trillion£s,£s value down 20% in the last decade, people pay at least 100% more on the price of food than they can buy on the open world market, living costs have rocketed.

    SUAS AN PHOBLACHT!!!

  • @JSLaighean weakening euro will boost irish exports? What do you export?

    Cochan bant!

  • @Wisdomfanatic2011 Let me think, computer parts, pharmaceuticals, food(of which the UK is largely dependent),fuel soya beans etc.And what's more Ireland's exports for this year are expected to exceed the world average.Your comment really is just thick, and I think that word also applies to the people that gave it the thumbs up.

  • @JSLaighean didnt we just export 7 billion dollars to your government? lol i think its worth more than the total weight of all soya beans lol plus, if the uk and european economies weaken, irish exports would weaken as well...

  • No you didn't,you gave us a bilateral loan of £7Billion pounds that we have to pay back at an interest rate of 4%.And it was for that reason of trade that the UK gave Ireland the loan, because a weakening Irish economy would be bad for the UK,so you can get off your highhorse as we depend on each other. And as I said before despite a weakening European economy Irish exports are still increasing through trade with the USA,Brazil China and elsewhere. And why is this?Because of the weakening euro.

  • IRELAND as a whole , the wayit should be

  • A great day.

  • To Ireland,

The person who has written the comment with 55 thumb ups at the top of this page cant spell available correctly.

To Ireland : Lessons now available in spelling ( or speeling to you ) if you want !

    Yours sincerely,

    England!

  • @Stoby1973

Always nice to hear from Martin Johnston.

  • @Stoby1973

    To England

    Fuck you

Signed: The rest of the world

  • The money was payment to teach you how to play rugby 8) ...just kiddin there will many more games like this hopefully

  • It's so nice to see all the racist comments here-of course being English and white virtually anything I say is offensive isn't it? This was a fantastic game of rugby, and that is what it's all about. Scotland, Wales and Ireland are all fabulous countries with great and friendly people. That said, from some of the comments here, I guess along with England they also have a fair share of retarded small dicked tosspots who can't count above 10....

  • @wtwtqtqt thats easy 4 u to say ur country didnt get invaded and people we loved died to take it back so why dont u go fuck urself u daft english prick

  • @wtwtqtqt get the fuck out of our country u prods

  • @wtwtqtqt All good with me, but just get out of NI :) and if not you in person, then your government please. im Dutch :) so i guess im 'neutral' here? Though, my country has had her portion of imperialist crimes. u sound like a good lad to me, but i guess that all i want to say is that praise is good... but praise alone is not enough. everybody has responsibillities... that includes taking a stance too in times when its needed. cheers. happy to hear u enjoyed the game!

  • @wtwtqtqt I couldn't agree more. We all have our warts unfortunately. I've only ever personally met one Englishman in my life who was a bit of a tool. He wasn't a tool because he was English, he was just a tool.

  • i'm scotish, but have alot of family in ireland! i consider myslef atleast half irish, and this really get's my heart pumping watching this! :D

  • I wonder how many Nationalists in the north would vote to join their bankrupt brethren in the south. Not many, I would guess.

  • @solefthanded2 Ya but one day they will, you'll see..

  • @IrishBoy00900

I gave you a *thumbs up* because although there's as much chance of that happening, EVER, as finding life on Mars, I admire your beligerence........

  • @solefthanded2 haha your denial makes me laugh quite literally..give it 20years and there will be a 32county republic..if you dont like that, fuck off to poor shit hole across the irish sea!!TIOCFAIDH AR LA

  • @IrishBoy00900

    lol

Your shitty country only exists because of handouts from the hated Brits!!!

Given the state of Eire, no northern Irish Catholics would be daft enough to sign up for this 32 county shit, which is why there is no demands for it.

UNLESS YOU CAN TELL ME DIFFERENTLY?

  • @solefthanded2 not now but in the future dumb-ass..who would want to be apart of the UK in 20years time when middle-eastern terrorists will be bombing ye for fun everyday..ha you didnt think about that did you.now run along and go invade another innocent country.

  • @IrishBoy00900

    Is that it, BankruptIrishBoy?

Is that the best you have? Howsabout handing over Croke Park to the Brits as a downpayment for our £7bn bailout?

Ireland, owned by the Brits, just as it always was.

  • @solefthanded2 Well we do have to pay you all the money back with interest, and it's not like you gave us the £7Billion out of the kindness of your heart,Britain is just protecting Britain's interest because Ireland is too important to your economy.

  • @solefthanded2 what would england be without ireland, scotland and wales....nothing nobody really likes your country, the only reason i want to be part of the uk is that we get your money, but ireland will be free and hopefully scotland too, free the celtic countries from the saxons

  • @mattmcnerlin

I like yourv style, just suck it up, fuck all this pride shite. You got our money, and now you are our bitches.

  • @mattmcnerlin

I know not what the Northern Irish and Welsh want, but I live in a, ahem, celtic country that wants nothing to do with, ahem "freedom".

At least you are hoinest about your indebtedness to us, though, even if "the only reason i want to be part of the uk is that we get your money" says more about you than you think.

  • @solefthanded2

Bailout? It's a bilateral loan you retard.

  • @Codarsnacht

Get down on your knees and beg, Bankrupt Bhoy. ;-)

  • @solefthanded2 Like the Uk did to the IMF 1976?

PS its not us who get down on our knees - cant wait to see you bowing "down on your knees" to big eared king charlie, that will be a total lol sight. You will bow to the king, wont you?

Bow thee down before mine majestic radar sized lobes.

    Tally ho - serf boy.

  • @HLecterPHD

    That hurt.

  • @solefthanded2 very sory

  • u can see which of the irish players have respect for the gaa, when they belt out the national anthem and sing nothing for the rugby anthem

  • iam english but never sing god save.mums family from cork .support celtic and ireland

  • @The6mick5

    Why not live there, then?

  • 2:09 the roar and the emotion on John Hayes face almost brought a tear to my eye.

That exact moment summed up the day for all us Irish.

  • People really have to learn to let go of the past.I'm irish..proud of it too.. doesn't mean i have any right to live in a 32 county republic nor should i expect an ethnically distinct group of people to shun their own culture.Ireland has never been a united entity-a system of kingdoms yes but never a sovereign state-and has about as much claim to the north as spain to texas. No decent Irish person would want to see a return to the dark days of our history and if they do then they weren't there

  • Thats the way our national anthem should be sang..with real passion. It's a song about war

  • born irish die irish

  • Two of the best anthems preformed by the top band in ireland

  • wow....that brought a tear to my eyes,i love seeing the pride of this country bursting through like that...

  • I really do think that as both england and ireland move on politically... the old rivalry will always exist when it comes to sport. It's just how we are wired. I know that for the 2011 6 nations, I egged england on to beat france but did an absolute 180 for when we, ireland were playing against them.

  • england hadnt a chance in that match!!!

  • @DillyHD no i just like to preach and spread the truth of how extremely boring morbid depressing and lifeless dublin really is prick.

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste where do you think that great scene of black humor comes from..

  • @MsJony1234 why is dublin so boring.

  • Urgh! We got torn a new one that afternoon. Fair play to the Irish fella who shook my hand after the game though. Like the Murphys, I'm not....

In sport, the Celtic nations seem to have a consistent advantage over England - hatred. Or is that just ridiculous comment in these modern times?

  • Love the Passion of the Irish National Anthem in this Video

    Greetings From Scotland

  • If the irish team is both NI and Republic why is the flag the irish flag. just curious

  • @and551 because the border is only on a map, theres only one Ireland, and thats the way they treat themselves

  • @twallaceshcp ok cheers man.

  • @and551 green for Ireland, orange for unionist and white for peace..

  • The reason some english people have chips on their shoulder over ireland is all the kids from irish families get the shit beated out of them by their parents, the english kids never did.

  • Ireland National Anthem: LYRICS: Sinne Fianna Fáil,[fn 1] atá faoi[fn 2] gheall ag Éirinn, Buíon dár slua thar toinn do ráinig chughainn, Faoi mhóid bheith saor Seantír ár sinsear feasta, Ní fhágfar faoin tíorán ná faoin tráill. Anocht a théam sa bhearna baoil, Le gean ar Ghaeil, chun báis nó saoil,[fn 3] Le gunna scréach faoi lámhach na bpiléar, Seo libh canaig amhrán na bhfiann
  • i dont mean to be a thumb whore. . . but thumbs up if you muted the english anthem like myself

  • @mrseaweed1000

    fuckin slut

  • thanks ;)

  • what really annoys me is that the irish tri colour is not the offical flag, we fly the nine county ulster flag at landsdowne but the ulster team always have the 6 county flag in the dressing room home and away so they don't give a fuck about offending ulster nationalists, my point is we surrendered our flag and national anthem to suit a handful of people who think there brits let them fuck off and form a northern irish team

  • @obamaishalfcaste. Rember me.??? Stop insulting irish vids and irish people. STOP IT NOW

  • Ireland's Call is the better anthem.

  • why didnt the irish boo at the english Anthem?

looks like on YouTube things are alot different...

  • WTF

  • haha the touch judge was singing along to irelands call!!!

  • @DillyHD yeah sad that i ever went to boring dublin.

  • Dublin has to be the most boring and morbid town in the world and people who live there just dont know life or there own self-worth its like a prison because almost every bar and food store has arrogant polish security gaurds on them and everybody judges you for simple things like the way you dress act behave walk and talk its SICK get the fuck out and live your life . You cannot express your true self in Dublin because the culture is so extremely different to everywhere.

  • the anthems for that match still give me chills! im so happy that we bet them by that much,it was a big step for us to let them back in croke park and we showed them how big that match was for us. so proud of that team that day. bit annoyed with the lads commentating but sure let them off. so glad we bet them this year and denied them a grand slam. :)

  • I'll never forget this moment. I was in the States for two months at the time but looked it up online as soon as it was available. I've never felt such pride and I cried like a baby

  • inspiring

  • why do some of the irish players remain silent during irelands call?

  • @felimillo because not the national anthem

  • @felimillo becaue its not the anthem..y should they sing something that isn't the anthem..

  • hey_ÅNy_gùYs_wÁÑt_tó_chät_wïth_me

  • tThey whacked England big style.

  • I might be crying now...

  • Still get goosebumps

  • and for the 6 nations 2012, Ireland have added yet another tune, 3 wheels on my wagon...

  • @SayWeAreGoingUp i thought it was called "the chariot only has 3 wheels" ;-)......sour grapes bud,get over it

  • John Hayes is an absolute hero what a man!!

  • God Bless Ireland

  • Why is Peter stringer on his knees?

  • hey all patriots of ireland, go to video''bakkies botha clearout on dewaldt duvenage''

my comment about ireland is taking a battering,PLEASE HELP!!!!!

  • Here you go you didn't come here to listen to the english only the irish 1:12

  • To England ;

lessons now availabe in Cricket, rugby and horse racing!

    yours sincerely,

    ireland

  • @MsSharku what about golf aswell ?

  • @MsSharku BRILLIANT! HA HA!

  • Anyway, good luck Ireland today, stick it right up them - they don't like it up them. Don't hold back Paddies. Remember Paddy, THIS IS ST PATRICKS WEEK, and u Welsh hold him in special affection, since he is one of us.

  • ireland rugby team. represent the whole of ireland not just the republic of ireland.. thats why irelands call should be the anthem!!!!

  • @dcnpj88 ye see Leinster Munster and im presuming connacht or however u spell it are very much up for getting rid of Irelands call. It means nothing to my country. while i agree that it is important To represent the irish i am a firm believer that Northern Ireland needs to reprsent itself as one.. just give us stephen ferris.. and you can have paddy wallace..

  • Why was there even drama on that forgetable day. Both anthems were supurb.

  • It's a good question. In Northen Ireland they use both the Londonderry Air and God Save the Queen but it depends on the occasion and what sport is being played. If it's an "Irish" sport such as Gaelic football they would probably use the Irish national anthem. To fully understand all this though you need a good "impartial" book on Irish history if such a one exists!! As always start with wiki.

  • I've watched this a few times now, and it's still just as moving....

  • even the ref was singing irelands call (3.42) how could we lose. up the irish.

  • As an Englishmen I love seeing Hayes belting out both national anthems.B***ox to the politics 3:15 if you wanna see a bit of goddamn pride.Just be grateful you have two national anthems man...we have one and its total tosh.

  • Love Ireland. Люблю Ирландию!

  • Goosebumps. And Ireland won that day!

  • for those who dont know.the irish players and cowed were so emotional that day because of the historical significance of the event.foreign sports were banned from being played at croke park until april 2005.it would be the 1st time the english had retured since on 21st of nov 1920 british troops opened fire in croke park on the crowd watching a hurling match killing 14 innocent people and injuring hundreds.but the respect shown to the english anthem shows how far we ve come as a nation

  • @claregl this still gets me every time i watch it. it makes me so proud to be ireland i was in tears watching this. u could hear the irish singing there hearts! come on the irish lets hear you roar!!!!!!!

  • @claregl After reading that know wonder we were smashed off the pitch...lol

  • @claregl I didn't realise the historical significance behind this match, cheers for the update :)

  • @claregl The way you jokers beat the living hell out of the 2011 English Six Nations team was wonderful.I see Ireland as a real threat in the World Rugby Cup.Good on you.

  • @claregl I hope us England and Irish people get past all of our history, and are able to forgive each other, and move on to a brother-like relationship. Thanks for being so respectful during the anthem - you were setting a brilliant example for other nations!

  • @claregl Weel said fair play.

  • @claregl football match :)

  • @RossByrne96 okay that i get...lol...thanks for the answer...

  • @RossByrne96 sorry, don´t get that...they play the englisch national athem for the englisch team than the irisch for the irisch team and than irelan´s call for the players from nothern ireland cos their national athem is the englisch one...but they already played the englisch one...so (don´t get me wrong i luv ireland´s call and it gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it) why do they actually sing ireland´s call???

  • @stefnuel Because Ulsterman are not English...they see themselves as Northern Irish and hence not part of Ireland but with more of a leaning towards England (depending on your identity within Northern Ireland obviously)....My mum is Northern Irish supports Ireland at all sports but I don't think would really ever sing God Save the Queen even as a proddy. Its similar to the Welsh or the Scots not singing the English national anthem but a bit more complicated!!

  • @crazzzyyyfoooolll well is there actually a nothern ireland nathional athem aswell???? just wondering...and how is it on other sports, cos there is an englisch team always, a welsh, a scottisch and do they alsways get ireland and nothern ireland together in one team??? if it works in sports why doesn´t it work for the rest???...sorry for all this questions just really into everything that has to do with ireland...thanx

  • Comment removed

  • @stefnuel Northern Ireland uses the Derry Air at the Commonwealth Games (and probably on other occasions too, though I'm not sure). God Save the Queen is always sung at the football, but that can probably be explained by the fact that footie (soccer) has a strong following among the unionist community in NI. If you watch closely, at least half the NI football team doesn't sing during the anthem...iit's the same here with a couple of Ulster players on the rugby team.

  • Love the bull hayes] belting it out

  • absolute class shown at croke park.

    Toronto, Canada.

  • LOL Stringer, you may be small in stature, but your big in spirit

  • god save the whore

  • *goosebumps*

  • This would bring a tear to an auld stone

  • What's the second song the irish sing? Do they have two national anthems?

  • @pugsley141 its a stupid song thats sung in english load of crap if you ask me

  • fuck shoulder to shoulder, fake and pointless anthem
