  • Originators ..I'm a white girl and I know these chicks did a a lot for not only women in hip hop/rap..but women being aggressors

  • I would love to know what nationality is salt father and mother.

  • Is salt black or white, what is her nationality.

  • it looked cute on her tho

  • I thought salt n peppa were men

  • @santaclaus1986 If 1986 is your year of birth then that explains your stupidity! Salt n pepa men?! Really?

  • I remember my white friend said , "What is new growth?", " I want some new growth".LOL :)

  • @tweetysweety1996 I almost screamed in laughter as I read this! lol Woww, that is a new one :)

  • Not all people perm their hair because they want it to look like caucasian women's or because we hate our hair. My mom permed my hair because she COULD NOT comb it worth a damn. It's really not a big deal.

How come whenever a woman wants to perm her hair it's because she hates herself? =/

  • @plakers33 omgoodness me too someone randomnly said on these videos if you perm ur hair you hate yourself.i personally think all african american hair is beautiful but my hair is realllllyyyy thick and too hard to comb through and maintain naturally so i perm it to facilitate maintaining it lol

  • Ya I just downloaded this mp3 at soundnabber..com

  • her earrings look like eggbeaters

  • Wow Pepa's nose job is a fail...

  • Wow, they're aging pretty well. God bless them!

  • @kamay81 yes, black people age beautifully! :)

  • Can someone please answer me this!

Why do people dye their hair?

And why do people wear make up? They should be happy with the type of face (oily, dry, full of pimples) or the color of hair that they have! Right??

Yeahhh, exactly my point, it's why people, black AND WHITE, wear weaves...

  • Wow ! I had no idea that's what happened! I wore that haircut back in "88-89 because I was a huge fan of S-N-P and I still am. We all have to live and learn.

  • wow that's how that trend started..woa mistakes creates trends

  • they are pretty

  • they still look crazy fit, xx

  • I seem to really realize is it's not just straight hair, it's the world's misconception that "LONG HAIR" automatically means beauty, when it doesnt. It's not just US (Black women) , white celebrities, regular women wear extentions, pieces. Then its funny, because it seems like white women believe that long blonde hair is more acceptable I really believe that its not just us that are dealing with this hair issue. The length of someone's hair never defines how PHYSICALLY beautiful a person is.

  • @SincereCorleone honestly long hair NEVER appealed to me (I'm a GAY male BTW). When I was younger and NOW as an adult, I feel It's so becoming to see a woman with short hair because everyone CAN NOT do the short hair thing. You have to have a cute face and some nice features to pull it off and it's so much more feminine, It can make or break you.

  • @ScienceProjek I don't care if you're black, white, hispanic, asian or some other ethnicity. SHORT hair DEFINES beauty. It's the True answer to whether a woman is pretty or not. Halle Berry, Demi Moore etc

  • @ScienceProjek.. you're short hair fetish has really nothing to do with this vid.... wtf

  • @cjay75217 Uh oh, Someones offended because they're hiding behind their long weave.

  • @ScienceProjek .. lol, I have short hair dude.....

  • @cjay75217 Let's see some photos of you with your "short hair", I wanna see.

  • @ScienceProjek .. I'll PM you,

  • @ScienceProjek so so damn true.Everyone can't do short hair b/c the features.

  • duude i loved her hair in that video .

  • Why y'all saying it like it's a black thing. Not just black women perm there hair and wear weaves. Y'all need to WAKE UP. That shit in the white actresses and models is WEAVE .

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS The difference between most black females and most white females is that during our childhood, children in school and on the playground the BLACK girls were the only ones with relaxers and individual braids and weaves. The white, Hispanic and "Other" girls came to school NATURAL with their hair down or in a scrunchy. So there is a difference. YES white women PERM their hair and wear weaves AS ADULTS but NOT for the same reason MOST BLACK women do their entire lives.

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS THE PERCENTAGE OF US BLACK PEOPLE DO IT MORE STOP WITH THAT

  • @trini4eve9 It's not just an african american thing, All women do it. It's like make-up, clothes, perfume or any other thing. No one buys something they don't want therefore no one puts something in there hair they don't want to. Point is, Why does it matter what goes into to someone else's hair. It ain't yours.

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS well thats the way it is, the majority of black people do it more than others

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS btw it affects the black commnity when someone does that to their hair

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS perm,weave etc

  • Pepa looks different - has she had "work" done?

  • Yes, she admitted to some nose work. But I mean, I think it looks pretty nice on her :-) Also it's odd that Salt-n-Pepa both now seem to be sporting pretty long and obvious weaves, haha.

  • @VickyVictoria79 She did have work done. She got a nose job and she looked waay better before in my opinion.

  • that's what I thought!

  • @kecola amen

  • AMAZING...and everybody started rocking that thinkin it was she did it for style...

  • some of the best things started from mistakes.

  • i agree wit kittybookitty

  • It was what it was, but who would have thought that this trend came from an accident?

I think...know that the indoctrinated perception of "good hair" is in texture, when the true perception of "good hair" is really in proper maintenance to keep it healthy.

The whole idea that straight is "good" was sold on the subliminal notion that black women's hair was/is not good enough. Many products are marketed to women based on their insecurities about themselves; they call it "creating a demand".

  • @7dontyouknow7 Amen. To think people are now doing the salt n pepa hairstyle think rihanna came up with it first. Wow eye opener

  • Look at salt's expression at the end of the clip. That look says it all...

Black women, stop torturing yourselves. I did. this money from all these perms go STRAIGHT out of the hood and into the pockets of already rich white folks.

Please wake up. Our natural hair is the one thing white folks can't copy or 'steal' They can steal our music, our styles and trends, but not our hair.

But the thing is, WE don't even like our hair.

    So sad.

  • Think about how many white women go to the salon to get styles like famous actresses.

Many people want to look like someone else, regardless of race.

    All women can be beautiful.

It is sad that you feel that white people 'steal' black culture.

We are all Americans -- black, white, asian, hispanic, etc.

Please see past the color. All that really matters in America is the green. Many use race to blind us and control us. Don't fall for it.

  • aman sis aman :)

  • @kittybookitty First off, "white people" don't own the hair industry. Second, to imply that black people have a style, or a music, makes you ignorant and racist. By black music did you by any chance mean rap? You have stereotyped yourself..... good job.

  • @cjay75217 - Did you think you were going to hurt my feelings? Did you think you just told me off??? lol I don't give a shit about your assertions, as you don't deserve a proper response.

You don't know shit about what you are referring to.

  • @kittybookitty .. yet you responded...

I know as much shit about what i was referring to as you know anything about who owns the hair industry. Try google before making comments trying to look like you know what you're talking about, if you had you'd know that Koreans dominate the black hair industry. So you're taking money out of the hood and putting it into rich Korean folks pockets.,

  • @cjay75217 you are sooooo right this dummy @kittybookitty is a mess lol

  • @cjay75217 So you think the only music black people created was rap.

    Who's calling who a racist?

  • @TheLadySekhmet Try reading what i said again, then think about it for a few minutes, and if you still don't see that i was feeding of her implication that "black music" is rap, you're a fucking dumb ass. I asked her what she ment by "black" music, and she didn't answer, because she knows she's an idiot...

  • @kittybookitty shut up

  • @duke49 i'll shut up only if you promise to go fuck yourself.

  • @kittybookitty okay I did now shut up! LOL sorry that was the wrong thing the say, but I really do hate this mentality that if you perm your hair you are self hating. That's simply not true, people do it for multiple reason. There are hairstyles that I like that would not work with my natural hair. One more point, we are the only people in the world with this hair. People want to fit in, it's human nature. Yes it is a little stupid, but hell I'm human and fir the most part I DO want to fit in.

  • @kittybookitty thats cause they perpetauate the idea our hair is no good by forcing us to assimilate and conform to what THEY are comfortable with. People get jealous when they see something they can't have so they put it down and try to make it look worthless when the truth is we have the most versatile hair on the face of the planet! We can press our hair straight today and wet it up and fro it out tomorrow. Its a form of control. We need to wear our natural hair and take back our pride!

  • ....aren't most weave shops owned by koreans? seriously. you can't blame us for everything.

  • @kittybookitty you're a racist! black people copy white girls also, or do black people have natyrally blond hair??? stupid ignorant come to mind while reading your text

  • @whitneylover76 Yeah, they do, it's called recessive genes or albinism.

  • @whitneylover76 Yes it's called albinism or just born with blonde hair without white genes. Or you can just go to Africa to see for yourself.

  • @kittybookitty what in the fuck are you talkin bout? lol do you hear yourself? you sound sooo racist it's ridiculous.

  • @kittybookitty Not all white people are greedy motherfuckers.

  • @kittybookitty Correction. Money goes straight into the Asian folks.

  • @sweettt123 You are right. It goes to Koreans.

  • Comment removed

  • @kittybookitty You sound REALLY racist and ignorant. How about you wake up from stupidity?? Stop blaming white people for all your idiotic problems.

  • @kittybookitty Our natural hair is the one thing white folks can't copy or 'steal'

you need to say that part again. I am so sick of white people straight up stealing our stuff, then putting it in a movie, commercial, magazine, video and making MILLIONS. pisses me all the way off. From Elvis Presley to Backstreet Boys. We are talked about left and right, but they'll steal our stuff and call it cool, all day long.

  • @kittybookitty You made some valid points. I hate when our community blames "The Man" for everything but everything you said is true. Elvis stole from Chuck Berry and Lil Richard, White boys sag their pants now. White people even get dread locks now! Our hair texture truly is one things that can't be copied. It is unique to only us.
