This is big buisness and if blocking a few blogers and taking down some you tube videos saves them money theyre gonna do it they couldent give two shits about what you think or want. i have a question.. can UMG remove a montage using theyre music? i have a halo pc montage using Robzombie and i got an emails saying that they wantt o claim it as theyre.. although it is my footage. i find this to be complete bullshit, as i own the album that the rob zombie song came off of.
I've put so many hours doing a montage of photos from my friends and family and I added a song of Puddle of Mudd and one of The Bravery (which I both bought the CD by the way) and you blindly delete them...
I've managed to hook many of my family and friends to these 2 groups with the montage I did (because let's face it, these groups don't play on the radio around here) and you repay me by fucking deleting my videos....
It will now be my pleasure to tell all my contacts to boycott all of your products. And BELIEVE me, I am very highly placed in Quebec's culture scene.

You can't use anything without their permission but if they won't talk to us then how are we supposed to get permission. They took down two of my videos in which I used music from their label, even gave them credit but that wasn't enough. Good luck with everything!
Good video mate! UMG has clearly not understood the concept of viral marketing. I was trying to find the video on youtube, but I only found covers of the song - had to go to dailymotion to find it. It does not make sense to me that UMG wants me not to be able to see this video on line - its ridiculous. They seem to be stuck in old business logic - good luck to them..

i have 11 of their albums, singles, EPs, exc. ,1 vinyl 12", 2 Vinyl 7". And you have 2 copies of the blue album and call yourself a huge fan? You Talk too fast. and, there are pleanty of copies of the video all over the place.
As I said I had a lot more Weezer albums (but this was the stuff I had on my desk), and yes, I talked fast so that I can get everything said within YouTube's 100MB limit. Thanks for your incredibly constructive criticism.

If they pull this copyright BS on the web of all places after that viral splash, I'll probably change my stance as a self proclaimed "New, HUGE Weezer fan" and just delete all those MP3s I just bought on iTunes.

UMG took down a video of mine because I used a sampling of music by Vince Guaraldi on it.
It's not the complete song and I even went so far as to advertise that music for purchase to viewers, yet they went and blocked the video.
