There was some things I really didn't like about the film (Soundfx taken straight from the Star Wars prequels, Extradimensionals, every bit that was obviously Lucas' idea, etc.), but I think despite that, the film was great.
I don't think Crystal Skull is THAT bad, but it's still got George's touch of death all over it. That being said, it's still better than the Star Wars prequels. Just my opinion though.

I actually liked how Peter Jackson used CG in the LOTR films. He used actors, makeup, and sets for all the stuff that he could, and everything that was just too big or too complex he CGed. Nice and simple.

well, i dont know if it was George's fault or Spielberg's , but Indy4 DID INDEED SUCK! i was deeply dissapointed about this movie after waiting for it so long. it felt rushed, like something they just wanted to get over with. before Indy4 i thought Spielberg could do no wrong, but he managed to royally sink my expectations
you know, george lucas is not that bad of a film maker really. sure the prequels and indy 4 were so bad that they set fire to orphanages for kittens with aids, but back in the 60's, 70's, & 80's was when george lucas was one of the greatest film makers of all time.
That kid from Transformers didn't feel like a tough motorcycle guy. It's like Marlon Brando was taking a crap and said "hey, you little wiener, hold these clothes for me."
If you're an actor, what would be worse? The stigma attached to you for agreeing to appear in a new Lucas CG/greenscreen-fest? Or missing out on the truckload of money he backed up to your door, if you declined the role?
That is what it all comes down to money but actors still suffer because they can't really reach there true potential. It is damn near impossible to act infront of a green screen. CGI is good if it helps along the story but settings and props would be nice to you know. Yet studios will go for what is cheapest
Personally, I think The Phantom Menace was the worst film in history (after Ed Wood's work of course) and Attack of the Clones was an a okay action film that was plagued with the worst love story I've ever seen.
Revenge of the Sith however, was pretty good. I think George somehow snapped out of his mental condition long enough to make something worthy of being a prequel to three of the greatest movies of all time.
Unfortunately, it seems his mind deteriorated again at the start of Indy 4.
I have a tendency to lump all 3 of the PT films together, and perhaps that's not fair of me.
After just watching ROTS for the umpteenth time (on Spike), I have to admit that Lucas nearly redeems himself with it. Of course, he had a lot to pack in and he had no choice but to make sure the event unfolded in a way already predestined to lead into ANH. He really COULDN'T screw this one up!
But I think the most significant element here is one that I've never seen discussed... (cont.)
... and that is, Lucas has managed to put into terms that any child can understand exactly how commercial or financial interests can take such twists and turns that soon a greedy, evil madman is permitted to manipulate himself into a position of power, without the greater populace even realizing it's happening before it's too late. (Does this remind anyone of someone we know, GWB?)
If that was Lucas' intent (and it probably wasn't), then I have to admit that it was a pretty worthwhile goal.

well, i dont know if it was George's fault or Spielberg's , but Indy4 DID INDEED SUCK! i was deeply dissapointed about this movie after waiting for it so long. it felt rushed, like something they just wanted to get over with. before Indy4 i thought Spielberg could do no wrong, but he managed to royally sink my expectations

you know, george lucas is not that bad of a film maker really. sure the prequels and indy 4 were so bad that they set fire to orphanages for kittens with aids, but back in the 60's, 70's, & 80's was when george lucas was one of the greatest film makers of all time.

That is what it all comes down to money but actors still suffer because they can't really reach there true potential. It is damn near impossible to act infront of a green screen. CGI is good if it helps along the story but settings and props would be nice to you know. Yet studios will go for what is cheapest

Personally, I think The Phantom Menace was the worst film in history (after Ed Wood's work of course) and Attack of the Clones was an a okay action film that was plagued with the worst love story I've ever seen.
Revenge of the Sith however, was pretty good. I think George somehow snapped out of his mental condition long enough to make something worthy of being a prequel to three of the greatest movies of all time.
Unfortunately, it seems his mind deteriorated again at the start of Indy 4.

I have a tendency to lump all 3 of the PT films together, and perhaps that's not fair of me.
After just watching ROTS for the umpteenth time (on Spike), I have to admit that Lucas nearly redeems himself with it. Of course, he had a lot to pack in and he had no choice but to make sure the event unfolded in a way already predestined to lead into ANH. He really COULDN'T screw this one up!
But I think the most significant element here is one that I've never seen discussed... (cont.)

... and that is, Lucas has managed to put into terms that any child can understand exactly how commercial or financial interests can take such twists and turns that soon a greedy, evil madman is permitted to manipulate himself into a position of power, without the greater populace even realizing it's happening before it's too late. (Does this remind anyone of someone we know, GWB?)
If that was Lucas' intent (and it probably wasn't), then I have to admit that it was a pretty worthwhile goal.

Indy 4 is the worst movie I have ever seen. People bash Michael Bay, but at least you go in knowing you're gonna see slow motion and crap explode. When Spielberg makes a movie, you expect quality and respect for the fanbase. That's why this film hurts so much.
