I bought one of the last great Pontiacs. A 2009 G8 GT. I love this car. I bought it the day after they filed chapter 11. Right out off the show room floor.

Pontiac should have been re-tooled for the Scion / Honda Civic / Kia Soul market, with the flagship being a Trans Am based off the new Camaro. Instead, it got cut and that money went to selling carbon copies of Chevrolet's truck line as GMCs.

The only GM vehicle left that I would be remotely interested in now is the Camaro however with my anger at them closing Pontiac (and Saturn for that matter) just to keep the dead to the US Buick division around simply because the Chinese liked it, it is highly doubtful that I would even buy one of those.

The G3 is the Pontiacs Aveo which is just a Daewood. I am one of the minorities, but I thing G8 sucks. Part of the reason being it too, is not a real Pontiac. Just a re-badge of the Holden. G3 is the rebadge of Daewoo, G5 is a rebadge of the Cobalt, Vibe, rebadge of the Toyota, Torrent being rebadge of the Equinnox. Only true Pontiacs left now are G6(due for a major re-work), and Solstice, now they killed 2 of the remaining best, True Pontiacs. GP(the 08 that I own and love) and Bonniville. I agree, the 04-06 GTO and the G8 are pathetic. The Australians brought shame to the GTO name and the G8 is just a Charger wannabe.Those cars are just thoughless rebadges of foreign cars. See, now that's cool. GM gets a rock band in the background and makes an ad look kind of like a music video or something. It's so over the top that its funny and cool. They should do stuff like that today.

Even though this commercial is 80s it still makes you want to buy the trans am-it was great marketing.Thats why pontiac was such doing so great in the 80s and early 90s they built excitment and not lame ass cars like everyone else.

That jingle's awesome! I remember that one. Way better than Madza's "Zoom zoom zoom." Maybe not as cool as Dirty Vegas on the Mitsubishi commercials,but still good.
