Crown Vic p71 exhaust comparison - stock no mufflers and glasspacks

Does anyone know how long it takes to "break in" Cherry Bomb glasspacks just put 18s on my Vic and am curious , do they get any louder ?

@SuperMan88Strong its about what it takes to change your oil...3,000 miles. it wont get much louder, a little but the tone will even out. ive noticed magnaflows break in nicely too.

What size Cherry Bomb glasspacks do you suggest for an 02 P71 , Ive heard the 12 inchers are EXTREMELY loud any advice ?

i always get glasspacks larger than the exhaust piping size louvered and baffled glasspacks neck down inside to shorter than their inlet and outlet size, on my truck which had 2.75" piping i used a 3" glasspack so it wouldn't restrict flow, the louvers and baffles are restrictive as it is, only perforated glasspacks flow well like Thrush and Dynomax Bullets, the other including Cherry Bomb suck, my Summit glasspack didn't flow near as well as my current Magnaflow

@snakesonaplane2 i like my magniflow glass pack. Loud but with tone on my oldsmobile made 307 - no paint on it and in 6 months it has no rust on it either :)

i put 2.25" glassies on mine with 2-4" megaphone tips. sounds much better. rest of it is stock, but it definitely drones.

Yea mine kinda sucks though, I had Flowmaster Super 44's put on with the stock exhaust. Not really loud but the nice thing is that at highway speeds, no drone. (Ford decided 4 cats was the way to go. I'm super-enviro-sav-a-lific in my Vic.) If you want to be really brave, put a K&N filter in and you'll get even better sound.

But the stock exhaust sucks, unless you're like my buddy and want to sneak up on people. (I will be forever jealous if you get a catback, though. >:( ) haha j/k.

I did the same exact thing to mine. Except mine has more of a rumble to it? Maybe it's because we didn't put any exhaust pipes out back lol

yeah we did the same things....just swap mufflers without replacing any pipes...if we did a full catback it would be louder im sure.
