656 days is definitely a mistake...the term of an elephant is about 2 years...maybe they meant pregnant for 656 days?

Really, in labor for 656 days??? I think there is some misinformation in there or something (because that is practically just a little below the 2 year pregnancy elephants have- she can't be in labor about 74 days after conceiving??). But still congrats Munich zoo for your adorable baby girl!!! She's so cute!!!

In labor for 656 days? isn't that the full term of the pregnancy?

and also, i would have expected the Baby Elephant Miracle to be the Thai elephant at Taronga zoo in Sydney.

It's named Pathi Harn (Thai for Miracle) and nicknamed Mr Shuffles. It's mother was in labor for 7 days until the baby showed no signs of life. When he was finally born there was movement and shock horror! he was alive!
