I really like your version of OBJ's l yrics to Nat Adderly's "Dat Dere". I think you have a great ear because to me you stay in key. I am not a professional, but my dad composed the lyrics about my little brother and I've heard this song my whole life.

nice! It's tough to do this tune as it moves tonally in very man-like keys (ala some simon and garf tunes)...so you really nailed the key and it sounds fab.

You're like me though, gettin' carried away on the scat! As my teacher always says less is more. Take it from the heart and don't be afraid of space!

I have a 4 year old, here in the office with me, right now, and after about the 47th question, he sounds EXACTLY like that scat solo ... quite pleasant really :)

actually, once I started playing this clip, he forgot about cross-examination and is happily playing with a balloon now, singing along.
