@peterpale006 i plan on using an instrumental of this for the walk down the aisle on my wedding day. the bridal and groom parties will walk down in the beginning...and where he says "ocean pulls me close" will be when i emerge. the vision in my head is beautiful!
@peterpale006 lol. not yet, but someday. and whether my fiance will like it or not, this is how its going down! he gets his bachelor party, i get the wedding!!! and the best part is since it will be instrumental, it will sound beautiful to the older generation without offending. once they find out its an industrial metal band, their jaws will drop!
Would have crapped my briefs for the whole five minutes and eight seconds and gone home with radiating happiness, they shall call him Trent Reznor the Lord of everything that's cool
I love how everybody has their burial song already. Mine is gonna be 'Adrift & at Peace." Death is just another beautiful part of life. Embrace it as you would any other aspect of the natural world
@markmccool embrace life, don't be preoccupied with expectancy of death. It is a part of life, it's the only thing promised in this life of ours....so make life worth living.
Then again this live recording of the track comes very close to being the equivilant to the original studio version. Do I personally think Trent Reznor is capable to record an album with same percise level of aesthetic significance as "The Fragile"? Yes. Do I think he'll record it? With all honesty, I don't know.
The studio version of the song is far more superior to this live version of the track. Reznor later stated he felt sick during the majority of the "fragility" tour; and didn't think it was NIN at their best. The studio version of the track ranks amongst one of the most beautifully conducted songs of all time; and is off one of the top ten best albums of the 1990s and one of the greatest albums of all time.
I couldn't disagree more. There are so many elements here that you dont hear on the recording. I loved the album but this song is so much more powerful live. The same goes for The mark has been made. He always goes the extra mile for live performances. He did seem to include more synth sounds during his last tour to make them more similar to the recordings.
ok so the song could be about suicide from the loss of a loved one...but has anyone read the great and secret show or everville by clive barker....when ever i hear this song, i always think of someone like the jaff...or just anyone that has been to quiddity and will do absolutley any thing just to go back....including their own suicide...because the night before you die, when you dream you get to go there? anyone else thinking along those lines?
yes, its so fucking amazing and beautiful with the images Rob Sheridan did for NIN...La Mer and The Great Below for sure and of course The Mark Has Been Made, Rob Sheridan is like the perfect match for NIN. The whole images and videos for Fragility Tour and With Teeth Tour were done great.....hope they use some of the footage he shot from the LITS 2008 North American Tour, heard something about him using a High Quality Digital Video
imagine how hard it is to fuckin perform for hours infront of a crowd that big. even now that his been doin that for over 20 years, imagine how scared he was the first time. i know i would shit my self
i prefer the live version of this song, this performance was absolutely STUNNING. i just wish he'd play it more often, ive never seen another performance of it other than this.
hello. i love you. xD but. if linkin park's been ripping off NIN, again, i wouldn't be shocked. can't say i'm cool enough to have actually /heard/ session, but i'm fairly confident in assuming it's a load of shit and not comparable to anything trent's had anything to do with. and that includes that's what i get.
This is my favorite song/performance from NIN. Everytime I hear this song I have to stop, listen, meditate and fill my senses with its awesome sonic power. This is Stendhal's syndrome at its finest.
i'm going to see these guys in november, caint wait, they always kick ass in concert. haha it's funny now that im older that my co workers are saying, what are you doing going to see nine inch nails, but i got them back, burned my boss some of their cds and he really digs them. and he's in his 50's he wants me to burn the rest of them. grew up listening to these guys when they first came out.and they still kick much ass!!
I love Charlie Clouser.
