Umm..wheres its water dish, salt water dish, and food dish? And maybe u should buy another hermit crab so he can have a friend. Plus that cage is too small and doesnt hold the right amount of humdity it needs. Plus more extra shells whould be great..

His real place is much bigger and has all of the above, we just moved him away from other crabs so he can have some privacy getting a new shell. His friend grab is also there, and one reason we moved him was to prevent him from harassment

until he gets into his new shell.

typically when crabs do that they are extremely stressed out and you need to offer him a variety of shells to encourage him to get back in and leave him be. Make sure everything is copacetic the tank shouldn't be too hot or cold, and keep the humidity at least 60%.

Cool! I have 9 crabs and one of them was sooooo brave that he literally changed shells in front of thousands of people while I was holding him in a portable cage on a boardwalk at the beach! It only took him 30 sec. to change shells and that was the first day we bought him! We named him Hyper cuz he is so active! He changes shells 4 times a day since!!!!! Lol.

You should have atleast 3+ shells per hermit crab so if you got 2 hermit crabs you need atleast 6+ shells. plus i don't think you should get anymore hermit crabs if thats all your going to do i kill them.

I hope you've put him a bigger place, with wood and stuff for him to climb on. It's also a good idea to give him a selection of various-size shells to leave in the habitat, so he can choose which is most suitable for his body. GIve the little guy something to do.... I hate those small plastic containers they give people for these things.

I have three hermies and I've yet to see any of them out of their shell. They're very small right now, just babies ( about the size of the end of my thumb ) and two have molted, though they were never on the surface when they did. They haven't even grown enough to want a new shell.

they're supposed to be isolated for a couple of days because crabs are very soft, and usually inactive when there ekoskeleton is shedding to grow and they movie into new shells retard.

I gave them hermit crabs pellets specially for them to eat,but i don not noe whether they eatb it or not cause it is in the night and i didn't count the pellets.

Mine has a simple diet,i fed them with juz pellets,dried shrimp(without salt)and cuttle stone for calcuim.Thanks! I'm looking forward for ur reply!^_^

Actually I agree. When they switch shells they bring their old one right up to the new one so they can switch as fast as possible. When the video starts it's all naked and alone... so most likely - either the old shell was removed forcibly, or you waited until it was between shells and then quickly stole the shells away while you grabbed your video camera.

Sure i can help u!When they bury down the sand it is tottally fine,not to worried and may i noe the temperature of the tank?Cause the temperature might affect them,when they bury probably is too hot or too cold or juz for their behavioural.About the food what u had said is probably right when the surrounding is very quiet.U can check the food if it had gone lesser(common sense)
