  • Tried to make it two time oops

  • Just curious if anyone knows of a SCD legal yogurt that I can buy? I've tried twice and it's more of a cottage cheese consistency.

  • Pam is illegal on the diet use butter instead

  • Thanks this is very helpful! However, your recipe at the beginning said 1/4 C yoghurt, but in the video, you said to use 1/2 C yoghurt. . which is it?

  • I don't have an electric mixer..... will this turn out as good by just mixing it by hand?

  • It's called the specific carbohydrate diet. Do a little research and you will find out how well it works.

  • whats the whole SCD thing about?

  • Is the SCD diet working for your son?

  • Yes it is still working. We are in our second year, but he hasn't had to be on the strict diet for over a year. He eats pretty much what he wants.

  • My daughter has Behcet's disease and is trying to follow the SCD and a good yeast free diet. We are truly grabbing at straws at this point. I did make the yogurt following your instructions and it was awesome. I was very proud of myself...:) . I'm going to try the bread next. Thanks for you videos!!!!

  • You very welcome and I'm glad your yogurt came out great!! You should be proud of YOURSELF.... for being so resourceful! Kay-lynn

  • I don't follow SCD but I have isues of my own that led me to Almond Flour. Your recipes are wonderful. My question is, can I make this bread without the yogurt? I'n mot allowed ot have dairy. Thanks :)

  • I would first ask your Dr. to define what is truly in the Dairy category and is homemade yogurt included because yogurt is a totally different thing than cow's milk Dairy. What IN the dairy are you supposed to stay away from?

  • That was great.

Thank you so much for sharing that.

I have UC, so I'm very familiar with almond flour. In fact I make my own, in part, by using a coffee grinder.

  • @cri8tor Does the SCD diet control your UC?

  • @whitbyjet65

    Hey

Sorry it took me so long to reply.

I went about taking care of my UC a little different.

When I first came down with UC, I read a book titled "Breaking the Vicious Cycle."

I stayed on the diet for 2-years and modified it since.

A great diet works wonders for all types of problems including UC.

    Hope the helped.

    cheers

  • Just want to thank you for your great videos..just started the diet for my son and you are terrific...what a wonderful contribution you are making to the lives of so many ill people...thank you so much.

  • You are certainly welcome and I'm very happy I can help someone. You're very kind. Let me know how it's going. Kay-lynn

  • Thanks for taking the intimidation out of making the yogurt and bread.

  • Cindy,, it's certainly my pleasure, since I am not a cook by any means. I hope to post a new video soon. I have started beating the egg whites first before adding other ingredients to get a little fluffy bread. Works great!

  • wow...thats really cool!!!! it actually looks good :) all of the stuff that i have tried has turned out really weird or sticky or just flat out sick :p i will be trying this :D i am excited now!!!

  • How are you doing? Do you need any other assistance?

    Kay-lynn

  • I am donig pretty good all things considered. trying to get my crohns back under control, the SCD diet hasnt really worked wonders for me. I had to have a re-section. its discouraging but im not gonna give up!!!

  • Great tips!Is that grill you use teflon? I understood it was not SCD legal. Would it work on a stainlesss steel pan? Also, don't have SCD non-stick spray where I live(Spain), so would reg. oil(olive)ok?We got plenty of that.

Looking forward to seeing more vids.Diana

  • I've never read anything about teflon not being SCD legal. And yes, a small amount of olive oil would work, just make sure you spread it evenly, maybe with a pastry brush?

    Thanks for commenting!

  • Peppermintee: Cooking can be fun (as I found out) but I do make him do his own bread and yogurt sometimes lol. Kay

  • Keep up the good work cd30613. Have you tried pulvarizing plain pork rinds. I use that for 1/2 of my flour sometimes.

  • aww..I wish i had a mommy like you who would make me those kinds of things :( I must cook everything myself...she doesn't make dinners that follow my diet so I always have to pick out everything...

  • He is allergic to nut, tree nuts, almonds, etc. He is on the gluten free/casein free diet so no milk. I have been experimenting alot. Your video gave me a good platform. Thanks.

  • Have you tried any of the other nut flours?Pecan flour would also work. It's kind of hard to do the SCD diet without the yogurt. Why can't he have homemade yogurt?

  • He can't have almond flour, eggs, or yogurt. I know it sounds impossible. I think I may be able to come up with something but if you have any ideas please please let me know. Thanks.

  • Thanks for that video. That bread looked beautiful. My son is on gluten free diet. Do you have any idea how to do that bread using gf ingredients. I am very new to all this. I'm just a week in and really need sandwich bread.

  • I don't know the requirements for gluten free, but the ingredients are pretty simple. Can he have almond flour?

  • Thank you so much for sharing this with us! You make making bread seem simple.

  • You can substitute 1/2 cup pureed winter squash or applesauce for 2 eggs, if you want to make it less "eggy". The squash is neutral in flavor and you cannot taste it at all in the baked product. Happy baking!

  • Make a note to self: cooking spray is not "legal" oppsy, you'll have to use whatever oil they recommend.

  • Thank you. Please do more recipes.

  • Thank you so much for doing this video! That was so kind of you! It's always so much better to see a recipe prepared than to try and visualize how it should go. I'll be interested in seeing your yogurt video.

  • The yogurt video was just posted. just search on scd yogurt (smile). Thanks!! Kay-lynn

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this video. What a nice recipe. Looking forward to seeing the yogurt video :)

  • Thank you for the compliment! I'm putting the yogurt one up a little later today. (smile) Kay-lynn

  • Fantastic video! thanks so much for putting this on Youtube for others to see...keep up the great work!!!

  • Thank you for leaving a comment.! Let me know if you need any assistance with starting the diet. It can be a little tricky at first.
