  • Finally, this movie makes sense. I was always just like "Why is Susanna is the mental hospital?" I knew she tried to kill herself but I never understood why, now I see she was like actually kinda crazy.

  • I like it...but...why is daisy in the cafeteria??! And drinking coffee? Idk...

  • Movie makes much more sense and is more realistic with these scenes.

  • 0:54 what is that? i didn't quite catched that :P

  • 4:02 you never have any fucking lime jello

  • This scene makes her look more like she has schizophrenia actually.

  • This scene makes her look more like she has schizophrenia actually.

  • This scene makes her look more like she has schizophrenia actually.

  • Aww how cute 4:42 - 4:54 Seems like they like eachother right away - he already knows her name, and the way she smiles as he's walking away. I've always liked the subtle interplay between Susanna and John in this movie. She has such a hard time relating to guys but she seems to genuinely like him. They should have left that scene in.

  • These scenes were essential! As the movie stands, Susannah never truly seems like there's anything wrong with her at all...the movie's about her grappling with something...but with what? We never see it. This was necessary. Fuh, poor choice to cut these.

  • @CzarinaLace I agree totally. Susannah's character wasn't a very good portrayal of a Borderline personality. It focuses on her struggle to form a stable identity/ self-image. It would've been easier for me to understand her illness if instead the film had depicted her struggle to manage her feelings, and her reactions to them. The scene in the bathroom and the outburst that followed should definitely have been left in the film.

(Sharon Stone in 'Casino' was a great portrayal of a Borderline.)

  • @ferstday i agree that scene should've been left in. it shows the psychotic side of borderline personality disorder, which is an important part of this illness.

  • 1:11 isnt that lisa?

  • but she´s really psycotic...not borderline

  • angelina jolie was incredible in girl, interrupted. ever since i saw that movie, its bcome my favorite movie.

  • i really want to read this novel. (it's not available in Hungary of course, and sadly that's where i live...)

  • @LaudanumDrinker well, me too, and i bought it in english.. the movie is better tough..

  • @LaudanumDrinker Just order it online

  • @m2mfan4eva that's what i plan to do... some glorious day, when i earn my own money, and don't have to ask my mum's card number for online shopping any longer. :) not until then. sadly. :(

  • where did you get all this? it's amazing!

  • every time I watch a movie's deleted scenes I wish they'd left them in.

  • deleted scenes....)) I dont know the plot of movie I just ask if is better shot a safe sex documentary instead of those female depression apologia.

  • Some of these scenes SO should have made it into the final cut. They really bring the story, the history, the movie to life. Susana's character makes so much more sense with the deleted scenes.

  • I thought Daisey hated eating around people so that scene with her at the lunch room was STRANGE and made no sense seeming she also never eats yet she got soup or whatever it was!

  • @Support4MySingers It was coffee.

  • Thank you for uploading these scenes!

I love the way Elizabeth Moss (Polly) says everything with a smile! LOL!!

  • this kinda enlightened me. why did they delete these?!

  • they should have left the scence in where Polly tells Suz who everyone is.

  • @queenbrooklyn67 ikr?! and yeah if it wasnt for angelina this wouldn be one of my favorite movies shes jus so interesting and magnetic

  • hej!

    nederlandse ondertiteling xD

  • Hell, they should've left those scenes in. Jolie's Lisa character stole the movie though. Angelina's performance was just out there. Truncating Suzanna's recovery was stupid. I wouldn't have liked the movie had it not been for Jolie's outrageous portrayal. That was avante garde acting you only see once in a blue moon; someone so out of control but in control. Jolie's breakdown at the end gave some real insight into Lisa; found out how evil she was like sociopaths really are. Rare and exotic.

  • @supergirl2025 I know you posted this forever ago, but I enjoyed reading your comment. However, I don't believe Lisa was evil, she was just brutally honest about her perception of reality. I think she represented what people are afraid to touch in our mundane society. She's the personification everyone in society keeping themselves "tame" for the sake of pleasing others or saving face. Lisa was too honest and spontaneous and wild for the majority, left to be caged in that institution.

  • @S0XF0X Thanks for the comment. The "Lisa" character was a sociopath and they are evil. Even she said, at the end of the movie, she "pushed buttons" and "they're so many buttons ready to be pushed". Don't confuse Jolie with the character "Lisa". Jolie was fun to watch as "Lisa" but sociopaths in real life you wouldn't want a thing to do with. The only thing that makes them feel alive is other people's pain.

  • @supergirl2025 I think she's not evil, but bittered. almost as if her past ruined her sweet personality. I say this because I'm trying to cope with the same.

  • who was that in the taxi?

  • it was herself

  • should have left the scenes in....

  • great movie

  • Comment removed

  • im so glad they deleted this scene. cuz i mean, cynthia being in the hospital because her parents dont like how she dresses is just stupid. they dont mention that in the movie, which is better

  • No but Lisa does comment on her being Gay and that's why she's there! Back in the 60's they sent gay people to places like that thinking there was something mentally wrong with them and the fact that Cynthia dresses and acts more like a man and that's why her parents thought something was wrong with her!

  • This movie doesnt exactly make sense. These scenes here show that she sees shit and in the movie, she says she sees. But why did they labeled her with Borderline Personality Disorder? I dont understand

  • Basically when you cut down to it, a person with Borderline Personality Disorder doesn't have the firmest grasp on reality. Almost like a watered down Bipolar. It's characterized by flippant promiscuity and a tendency to self harm among other things. She fits. :)

  • I understand now. I was asking because I have Schizophrenia and the things she sees are the kinds of things I've seen. Back when I was about 15 years old right before I was diagnosed, I saw my feet and teeth dissolve. At 18, I saw my hands dissolve. So I thought Borderline Personality Disorder just didnt fit her. But with your explanation, it does

  • Yeah, no worries. I have BPD, and honestly it's not that noticeable to others, it's more of an internal mental disease. It's the only way I know she fits...because I have it. :) Mental illness is more common than people think, but we live happy (for the most part) and productive lives! :) Good luck to you!

  • Ok, thanks so much or explaining it all to me. I totally get it now. And thanks for wishing me luck. Good luck to you too ;)

  • sam20beach, how do you know for sure if you have BPD? Ive been suspecting myself to have it for over a year now but I can't get properly diagnosed because of my parents....can you give me any clarification please?

  • There's a lot of information now a days on the internet. You can google BPD and find a million helpful websites. But all you'll really find are symptoms and treatments. I would not recommend diagnosing yourself with a mental illness, because so many of them have similar symptoms. With a wrong diagnosis (whether you don't have one at all or you have a different one) you wouldn't be able to get the right treatment. Better to see a Dr. But the sites should answer any questions you have. Good luck!

  • Good luck! Do whatever you need to do to get better.

  • I love this movie!!

  • 4:03 What did she say xXX

  • "You never have any f-ing lime jello"

  • I've seen so many deleted scenes from this movie that would've only made the movie better, bad choice to cut them on the director's part. I love the movie, but i mean really, did we NEED the bowling scene with aretha franklin playing in the back

  • I agree that they shouldnt have deleted so many of the scenes. Especially in this vid where she's seeing Lisa everywhere. It would have made more sense in the next scene where they're pulling her out of the cop car in front of the hospital. It just would have explained so much more. Now when it came to the whole bowling thing. Eh. It's an okay scene. Shows that the patients arent all about drama. Being in the hospital, finding ways to socialize with each other is always good

  • yeah I mean showing how the girls bond is a great thing to do, but they could've done it in a much less cliche and hokey manner, me thinks.

  • That's true. I think they should have shortened the scene a little bit and put one of the ones they deleted in

  • i don't understand the cab scene in the beginning...was that when she was going to the ward, or when she was leaving?

  • when she was going there

  • that was the beginning

  • i like most of them except the hand one...that one is unnecessary. the one where polly is introducing everyone should've been in there tho, because u rly only kno who MG if u read the book

  • I actually wish they kept the hand one in..it helps you understand Susanna's disorder better.

  • its better they deleted them to keep people guessing make it more intriging

  • I wish they'd included some of these scenes. I know they wanted to speed up the process of her getting to the hospital, but these scenes more strongly justify her being there in the first place.

  • the movie did not do much justice to the book!

  • the book wasn't exactly a story and it rly happened so it's harder to make a movie out of it. i think they did a good job 4 wat they had 2 wrk w

  • really? I ordered the book and it just arrived today. I haven't started reading it yet.

but I really enjoyed the film.

was it anything like the book?

or is it just like how "lost and delirious" was completly different from susan swans book "the wives of bath" which "L&D" was meant to be based on?

  • I don't think there are many similarities at all between the book and the film. Much less seems to happen in the book, but its still really good in its own way.

The best part of the book was to see susunnas medical records.

  • I think the book is better than the movie cuz in the book, it shows that Lisa gets better. I wont spoil the ending completely for you, though, cuz you may not have read the book yet. But yeah, Lisa gets better. The movie doesnt show that she recovers. It sucks but I guess whatever. The movie is still good. But I prefer the book

  • the scenes it shows here-are they in the book? like, how she sees lisa everywhere?

  • Not that I remember of. I havent read the book in years. I only remember so many parts in it. Sorry

  • borderline personality disorder usually goes hand in hand with bipolar disorder...hence the hallucinations. I'm bipolar and have Bpd but I never hallucinated. severe cases usually do, so I heard.

  • it would make more sense if she had schizophrenia

  • Yeah. They should have kept the last one so we could actually know what was wrong with the characters...

  • ya, she was pretty cute in girl interrupted and beatle juice)

  • Winona Ryder is still the most gorgeous actress. I wish she was in more films.

  • why they deleted these scenes? they seem normal..nothing wrong with them.

  • There's probably nothing "wrong" with the scenes. They just were either unecessary and made the film too long, or they just threw off the whole flow of a scene.

  • wow for being a psychopathic bitch on this film she turn me on and I feel in love with angelina after watching girl interupted. I remember it like it was yesterday when I watch this film in the theaters back in 1997 or 98 not sure damn how time fly's by, now she's a proud wife and a mother, though I prefure the old wild child of angelina jolie but this new angelina is kool 2.

  • i'm pretty sure she was a "wild child" because she actually suffered from borderline personality disorder just like susanna kaysen.

  • y they didnt keep this !!!

  • that last one should have been kept.

  • I heart John. I always thought he was so sweet.

  • They should have kept those (along with the one where Lisa burns her arm, which should be in the side menu if you haven't seen it). The first one should have been cut a bit, but it would have helped understand the situation and the sickness better.

  • In really like the scene where her fingers bend and she imagines that someone is yanking the door - I think that should have been in the movie to understand more of Susannas actual sickness.

    Great great movie.

  • the last scene should of being kept

  • ...I don't think they should have been deleted. But then again, they were a bit boring. Either way, that was a great movie. I agree.

  • I liked the movie. But then I went to a place like that... Way more stricter actually. Not that I hate the movie now. I just don't like the memories that tag with it.

Angelina did a good job too. Hell all of them did.

  • I know what you mean. I went to one before I saw it, so it touched my memories too. Other parts just amused becasue of how similar they were. Like checks. My place was a lot stricter as well. I blame the 60s.

  • This is one of my all time favourite movies..I never get tired of it..plus I had it in my collection for years not knowing Jared was in it???but now it all makes sense.

  • I can relate to Susanna.

  • WTF with the lady in the cab?

    i need an explanation

  • Susanna sees things.

  • oh thank u that reallu explains everything now

  • She saw herself.

  • can someone eplain to me what was up with daisy and the chickens....

  • When she has 17 corpses she knows it's time to go home.

  • oh right, that is one hell of a calender then.

    thnks!

  • that's all she would eat.

  • sussy q was really fucked up, wasnt she?

  • 4 sure she's the shit!

  • i love this movie...winona ryder does awesome acting

  • yeah winonas very good, but angelina's performance in this movie was phenomenal.

  • Daisy.. Perhaps she has this compulsive need to become people.. She tried to become her mother.. And when Lisa was gone she tried to become Lisa. The way she struts, wit that cig between her lips, which are pouting ala angie.. thats her problem.. thats she seems so different.. copying someone else.. thats all she knows.

  • Hah.

    Part of that is scary!

  • this makes it seem creepier

  • whats the taxi thing about? the first scene in this vid (excluding the beginning when she slams the door in the guys face)

  • Wow, I've never seen this. I've always loves this amazing movie and it's cool to see some of the scenes that didn't make the cut.

  • and polly is the "pathological liar" - (whatever that means) right? that's the biggest, sad, truthful joke in this movie...

  • no georgina is susannas roomate

  • yup, sorry. twa's goergina.

  • Oh my god! I really love that movie but thoose scenes freaked me out! I've tried to have psychotic episodes and they reminded me a lot of thoose in the scenes.. That is some serious shit!

  • Psychotic. Oh I have been there almost. I even recorded my delusions on webcam when I was off the medication. Did 2 experiments without the meds and ended always in a delusion or strange behaviour.

  • Uhm.. How could you record it? I mean it's in your/my head? Otherwise I just didn't get the meaning of your message?

  • crazy.. but in a way it's kind of cool to experience things normal people can't even begin to imagine. I get like extremley paranoid sometimes and I guess my mind just imagines things that aren't even there or really happening, but I wouldn't consider it anything serious.

  • you've TRIED to have psychotic episodes?

  • unfortunetly, yes. And it's some of the most scary shit I've ever tried. I'm suffering from bi polar diagnose and when I get very depressed I get psychotic. I see things, like shaddows and things that no one else can see. :(

  • oh, shit. that stuff's scary. i havent been diagnosed, but i've heard stuff

  • You mean you've had psychotic episodes where you hear stuff? Like what? - I'm just curious, and it's totally ok if you don't wanna talk about it.

  • Yes I tried to become psychotic and record them on youtube. I tried to describe my delusions . I know it is hard to explain them, but I think I did a good job doing it. I am schizo by the way. I always thing people are watching me, gazin me as hawks. Sometimes I develop strange behaviours such as becoming someone else. No voices.

  • Yes I tried that. And I recorded some of them on youtube.

  • these scenes are amazing.!

and I don't understand why they deleted them.;s

  • they should have kept these scenes!!!!!!! <3!

  • These scenes shoulda been friggin' kept- I mean, I could see if they were completely irrelevant, but they're not!!! They would've made the movie even better, because it fills in how things happened, rather than leaving us all to surmise how things came about, wtf?!?!!

  • why the hell are these scenes deleted??

  • last scene was important!

  • i dunno. i enjoyed it. more scenes the better far as im concerned. but u didnt need it. u gather as the time passes she must come to know people better. so for him to say 'im john' doesnt matter.

  • they must kept the last scene!!

  • why did they delete those scenes?? I WANT A DIRECTORS CUT VERSION!!! :-((((

  • It would have been heaps better if they left the scenes in. It makes more sense. Especially when Polly was talking about the other girls.

  • en que idioma estan los subtitulos?

  • they should have kept the taxi-scene, it puts the movie to a whole new perspective.

  • I Hate How Daisy Acts In The Cafeteria Scene.

  • It fits her personality that's represented in the movie well, though.

  • Kodou,

Daisy ....I love her. She has a twist in her acting...she is really mentally ill. I love the eway she acts.

  • I know! It probably would've made me like the movie better, haha.

  • who was the girl in the taxi going past susannah?

  • dunno

  • It was herself

  • Because it doesn't work in post-production, and they thought it would work in pre-production. They don't just film them for the hell of it.

  • good point

  • it happens with every movie

  • good scenes!! especially the one where susanna runs to the bathroom. that should have stayed.

  • They should've kept all of them apart from the one in the cafeteria, Daisy acts too different, it makes you see her in a different light

  • ye she used to act like dis but wen lisa camed bk she started to be more senstive and stuf

  • Yeah that's only to show that, that is how she acts while Lisa is away. Once Lisa comes back she does not act that mean because she knows Lisa will start a fight!

  • I think its less that shes afraid of Lisa and more that Lisa rationalizes everything that they are. They are more balanced when she's around b/c oddly enough she gives them structure and creates a unified group. she doesnt treat them like patients or crazy people, which is why Lisa goes ballistic when Suzanna starts treating them like they are inferior as she prepares to leave. Lisa is sooo fascinating

  • @tiemedown I totally agree... you could analyze Lisa forever and still not be entirely sure of all her motivations and feelings. That's how damn good of a job Angelina did :) and the writer, of course haha

  • this film told me ma life isnt that bad.creative film.

  • Angelina Jolie and Wynona Ryder is awesome it this movie. I hope that they play together again. Why they are not lesbians? xD

  • god scary...

  • What was lisa doing there at 0:11-0:12?

  • Just sitting or smoking, something like that.

Btw great scenes, thanks for uploading! :)

  • its just supposed to be forshadowing, that scene is before lisa came back to claymore

  • Very very useful. How did you get this video?

  • Why does she get all.. panicky.. when she touches the ceiling or whatever, and then she runs to the bathroom? Also, who does she see in the taxi beside hers that shocks her?

  • She hallucinated that she saw a hand (if you watch closely you see the shadow of the trees move and you can see a hand)and when she puts her hand up to the outline she sees her finger kind of melt away i guess (its her index finger) they talk about it later in the movie about how she lost the bones in her finger. And when the taxi passes by her she sees herself in it.

    hope that helped

  • I don't know did it help starbucks234, but me- very much xD Thanks! You are very perceptive.

  • heh yeah thanks

  • its the bones in her wrist, hense why she was so bruise in the e.r she had been banging them to check. In the real book she bit open her wrist to check.

  • she panicks because she hallucinates that there are no bones left in her hand. and I'm not sure but I think she sees herself in the taxi beside her. hope that helps. =]

  • Thanks! :)

  • *Ryder

  • If not then which one is Brittany Murphy?

  • Is brittany murphy the one with the short black hair? lol cos i watched it last night and i didnt kno if it was her or not cos she has changed soo much now! :D

  • That darling, is Winona Rider.

  • The one with the "that girl" flipped hair and smoking is Brittany Murphy.

  • they should have kept the last scene becuase when you watch the movie you have to sort of figure out why theyre all there.

  • sub-titles?...

who wad the girl n the taxi when they played the creepy 60's sci-fi music?

  • i thought she saw herself?

  • isnt it funny how when lisa isnt around daisy acts like that!! lol

  • Oh WOW I never thought of that! That's so true! She should still act like that even when Lisa is therebut Lisa would prolly start a fight!
