Bought a '95 GLE in summer of 1994. I'll never forget the day - it was the day of the O.J. Simpson slow-speed Bronco chase, which I watched in the service waiting room while the dealer was prepping the car. I had a rough start with it, as only a month afterwards it would refuse to start intermittently. Dealer had a hard time diagnosing the problem (fuel pump). Sold it in 1999 with 312,000 miles on it and it was still running great. Almost wish I never sold it - it was the best car I ever owned.

I love the 95's, to me the front end looks better then 97s and up, I also love the tail lights, so classic. I love my 95 GLE.

@drbizerk it sounds like you may need to replace your ect sensor ( engine coolant temp sensor) I know my legend did exactly what you described and after I replaced the problem was solved. If I may suggest, go to maxima.org and post your problem and you'll get help ASAP, good luck.

i've got a 95 max i paid 1g for last winter. its got 256k on it. had a bunch of probs when i got it but now i'm a fuckin nissan tech. lol i have come to another little prob that maybe someone is familiar with. it runs similar to having a bad MAF but only when running the a/c and @ normal operating temp. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

mine sounded just like that. i had an auto cuz i got it for free from my aunt and i just tore it up and did a bunch of cheap shit. sounded super nice with the homemade intake. it was my favorite. i wish i coulda found a clean 5 speed.

wow finally some people who dont diss maxi's, yeah all of you are right i got a 95 maxi with some cam upgrades a new lower end and e few other mods, i timed the 0-60 at about 4.5 seconds not too bad if you can get traction lol. i topped it out at 155mph. i cant complain about that seeing as it has 259k on it haha

2500 is a little high of a price to be asking for. Especially with 230k. But they are reliable cars, so I wouldn't be surprised if it went for another 100k. Maxima's are good buys. Especially for new drivers, and there's always room for upgrade.

4th Generation Maximas are some of the bset cars built by Nissan. I own a 1997 GLE. It has 189k on it. 230k is nothing for these cars. They could go on to 500k probably. I say get it. I do agree with OneOldSchoolSn, 2500 is a bit high for a car with 230.000 miles on it, but if you can get it lower, definetly get it. U will not be dissappointed.

I have 01 se 20th AE with premium package (leather, sunroof, heated seats, auto tranny, etc.) it really is a nice car, and so fun to drive too. I like the 5th gen. maxima way more than the 6th (current) gen.
